I want my screen to default to the home screen when I turn on the ignition. I’ve tried twice to get this done at the dealership but as soon as I turn it off & back on the home screen has vanished. The home screen used to come on each time but when I changed the battery it now defaults to a different screen. Pls help. Thanks
Thanks for the video tutorial. Just trying to update the map on my 2018 CRV, but it says memory is not enough and I should check with the dealership. Do you know how I can remove the old map and install the new one?

If you have Honda CRV touring you will find navigation and if not it means you don't have the Honda touring

How can I get a navigation for my honda crv 2016?
You will likely need to purchase an aftermarket radio that is compatible with your car. My 2016 Nissan Rogue did not have it’s own built-in navigation system when it was purchased. Now I have a Kenwood radio installed and not only is it compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, it has built-in Garmin navigation that is very similar to the Garmin navigation software depicted in this video. I highly recommend purchasing a Kenwood radio that has all those features. It will cost you between $800-1000-not including installation-to purchase, but it will be worth every penny.

How do you increase the volume of her talking. ?
In the navigation window. Go to the menu and select settings. There should be a setting for it. If you need extra help let me know and I will see if I can be a little more specific.

Hello...great tutorial! My 2017 Honda Pilot does NOT give turn by turn voice guidance. I see the info on the Navigation screen but I do not hear the voice telling me..."In 400 feet, turn left" etc. I have tried every setting, every possible way to fix this but I cannot hear any voice guidance for directions. 2019 CR-V EXL with Nav. Battery failed and was replaced. Now Nav shows map but won’t recognize any destination(for example Nashville). How do I re-initialize? Neither the owners manual or the NAV manual addresses this issue.
I would try unplugging the battery for a few minutes and then plugging it back in. See if it will reset and begin that process for you.

Hi Justin; Thanks for writing back. I am running the stock honda navigation system without my iPhone plugged in to the car for apple CarPlay . I haven’t tried using apple maps / CarPlay for navigation to see if I get voice guidance. I want to get turn by turn voice guidance coming from the honda system. Any other ideas?
Long time since you asked this question, but... I had this problem and I found that if I used the nav system to go to an address and caught it just as it was making an announcement (e.g. "turn left at the light") and at that moment turned up the volume knob while it was talking I could then hear the nav system. It took me a year of fiddling to figure that out.

When you drive does it display speed limits? Does it give traffic info, like road closures? Can you add a shortcut?
It does display traffic and speed signs. You will also have a camera in the front that will pick up speed limit signs as you pass them. This is great for work zones that do not show up on GPS some times.

Great tutorial, thanks but I have a Question: I have the 2018 CR-V and the navigation Voice Prompts aren't working. I have the Voice prompts enabled and the volume set to 11. When navigating with the radio on, I hear the radio volume reduce and that is where I expect a voice prompt but there is no voice prompt. Even with the radio off, I do not hear turn by turn voice prompts. Do you know what I'm going wrong?
Are you running Honda's built in Nav, or is this using Apple CarPlay or Android Auto? The reason I ask is if it is the latter and you have the volume muted that would cause it.

I don't like the map. My 2006 has the option of a screen with directions. I like knowing that I will need to turn left in 1/2 mile by looking at the directions. Does this have that option?

@@harsukhmansingh5645 the Honda CRV EX does not come with built-in navigation. However it does have Apple carplay and Android Auto which allows you to use the navigation off your phone.
