Amazing dressing room scenes after Manchester United reach the 1999 Champions League final in dramatic fashion after a 3-2 comeback win in Turin sent Juventus crashing out - and kept their own treble dream alive.
In this video of the team's dressing room straight after the famous win, the players are in buoyant mood.
Club legend Bobby Charlton joins the celebrations with players such as David Beckham, Ryan Giggs and Dennis Irwin, while Alex Ferguson looks absolutely delighted as he personally congratulates his team.
Keane and Paul Scholes, the other player suspended for the final, appear more muted though.

Roy Keane knew he was suspended but would rather die than loose. Best performance iv ever seen on a pitch. He was captain fantastic truly world class player
That's why Mica Richards should stand back and respect Keane none of this childish crap he throws at him and that's coming from West Ham.
What he have been cut loose then?. One game from the sack eh?. I'm glad they didn't *lose*
I'm sure he'd rather lose than die to be fair.
He'd rather win than lose though.
Lose
Baby
*Whole team celebrating getting into the champions league final*
Roy Keane: That’s our job
@Francesco Loren Yea,i spotted that too.He wouldnt look at him.
The goalkeeper?!?! His name is Peter Schmeichel! What a Legend!
Roy Keane: I never enjoy anything, EVER!
@@rjlplondon i
Yeah both looked disapointed knowing they were not going to be there. Peak of Roy Keane's career, closest opportunity for him next was the Semi in 02.
I almost cried after looking at Keano and Scholes.
It was Kean's best game of his career in ManUtd.
Sadly, Keano never got a second chance after 1999 as United crashed out in the Quarterfinals in 2000, 2001, 2003, Semifinals in 2002, 2nd Round in 2004, 2005. Scholes on the other hand had to wait till 2008 against Messi's Barcelona at Old Trafford before earning his redemption
Scholes was involved in the build-up which lead to CR7's goal against Chelsea in the 2008 Final but it was his 25-yard rocket goal against Messi's Barcelona that earned him his redemption at a 2nd chance during the 2nd leg Semis at OT
Hai Le Quang yes i also cried with laughter 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😲👍👍💯
Bender
Peter Schmeichel with tucked in shirt and towel hanged on his shoulder. Iconic
I think Wes Brown started playing for United in the late 70s.
Did big Ron sign him up , old Bobby looked like he could still play bak then aswel
😂😂😂
@@chloestokes8134
I don't get joke
😅 He got the assist next time we won it too 👀
@@norpriest521 Wes Brown was born in the late 70s (in fact two months before the 80s began).
Roy Keane won that game. People speak of Gerrard in their final. This is the original
Didn't play in that game.
@@bobbieeeee Played in the game this video was after, the semi final. I think that's what they meant. Keane was a huge part of why we got to the final, such a shame he missed the final but he got us there. Legend.
@@marleyr6512 My bad, yeah you're right.
@@bobbieeeee No worries, when I was scrolling through the comments all I could think about myself was the final, haha. I was only 3 at the time but I've been a United fan my whole life and I remember how great they were even at 3. Keane was everything in that semi final. Sacrificed the biggest match of his life to get us there. Best captain we've ever had, in my opinion. He'd have died for Man United if he had to.
Bollox
I know Keane was down about missing the final but blimey, was he the hardest person in the world to please? He single handedly won Utd that semi from 2 down & he quietly sat there, letting everyone else like Dwight etc bask in the glory.
Keane is truly an amazing bloke
‘ everyone else like Dwight’. How about simply ‘ everyone else’
@@TheZombie001 i was thinking exactly that. Everyone was celebrating. Hell, May wasn't even playing and he celebrate the hardest. Idk why he mention dwight's name. Racism maybe??
@@ozamatazbuckshank7467 it’s subtle racism. He/she may not have even realised it but there is a group of people celebrating and he’s singled out the black man ( who scored!). I overheard someone saying to someone else ‘ I’m just going down to the Paki shop’. Why not I’m just going to the shop ffs . We’ve still got a long way to go.
@@TheZombie001 Its not racism. Nowadays everyone says everything is racist when mentioning a black person. Stop overlooking the comment, he said "Dwight etc..." which implies that he means the rest of the team and just used Dwight as it was maybe the first person in his mind. If we keep implying that everything is racist it just devolves the term.
@@JBonjubia I’m confused as to why the person didn’t leave it as ‘ everyone else’ . I’m not overlooking any comment , I’m in fact responding to it
Scholes got another go off it in 2008, unfortunately Keane never got another go off it. Pitty he deserved to be lifting the trophy in the final
E N he could have done a “terry” and showed up to lift the cup without playing 😜
@@laxman90210 haha we all know that's not keanes type. Keane still says today he didint win a champions league and that he dosnt deserve the medal he got because he didn't play in the final. That's keane compared to Terry getting rigged out and lifting the trophy
Mede me laugh when he took the piss out of John terry for getting changed into his kit when he was suspended for Chelsea’s final in Munich
Keane should've kept his studs to himself then, eh? What goes around comes around, etc, etc.
Love from Ghana, my brother. X
@@laxman90210 Imagine if Terry had shown up in his kit after this Saturday's Champions League final.
Back to the days where the passion to win was real. The legendary treble team
That's the main thing that's noticeable. That drive and desire is absent in every match now.
Roy Keane help steer us to the Final knowing he wouldn't play....what a legend he was and still is. Pure Class.
what made this victory all the more special was the fact juventus were the finest team in europe at the time, were going for their 4th consecutive final, had been schooling united in europe over a number of seasons, this qas our first win on italian soil after been 2down inside 15 mins and we go in to barcelona and conquer europe within 5 years of being back in the european cup. meanwhile city after 8 years of endless riches are yet to even reach a final.
my cousin who is a Juventus fan, never let me forget those years when Juventus was bossing MU around in Europe. 1999 season was the sweetest comeback that I could never have dreamed of.
as a juve fan i would say that we WEREN'T the best team at that time... when MU beat us we were 7th in league (thanks to del piero getting injured). but credit is due when its due, MU beat us good that time and congrats!
not to mention Giggs didn't play in the match
and had zidane
yeah its called zidane in his prime
Those were 2 fantastic teams from the mid 90's to 2000's . As a Juve sick and devoted fanatic, I respected and feared United. They feared us too...we were a powerhouse! Good memories, football is a different beast today. Still love my Old Lady!⚪⚫⚪⚫ FORZA JUVE.
Nightmares from Del piero! Good days my friend loved Utd rivalry with Juve great games awesome memories 🤝
We won the final without schols and Keane let that sink in
Come back when you've 6 Champions Cups! 🤣🤣🤣...
@@joelyons886 what the fuck is champions cup? Its called the European Cup you pleb. Come back when you understand football.
@@henrycooper4213 ah poor salty United fanboy suppose I shouldn't be suprised that you don't know it was called the Champions Cup before the Champions League but I suppose you were supporting Leeds n Blackburn back in the days when United were struggling but hey it's ok you'll have loads of time to remember them barren days unless you turn to another team like 90% of you fuckin half backed united "fans"
@@joelyons886 I don't support United but people pretending to know about football is the cringest shit on the Internet.
@@joelyons886 Hahahahaha champions cup before it was called european cup 🤣🤣🤣 That’s like saying i used to shag Dave when he was called Davina 🤣🤣🤣 Fucking clown chops..
What a night ! Was a little lad in my living room nearly in tears when Juve went 2-0 up. Remember my dad still telling me then “we’re getting through here”. Thought he was crazy obviously. But that was my introduction to the United DNA.
Keane was immense but Beckham was just class that night. Like he was that entire season.
Schole and Keane are the definition of team players...an the rest are the definition of loyalty to them two player after the semi they had to win for them two...pure team dynamics pure perfection
I’d say that whole United team were a complete cohesive unit from front to back. No prima donnas, each man contributed his maximum throughout the season.
Trophies are won by great teams, not great players.
Italian teams were best in the world at that time. Great achievement. You can see what it meant for these legends. Amazing team. United treble winners the best in history! True passion for the game, for badge, for the team! Miss those times!
I am a Juventus fan and I remember those great matches against Man Utd in '90s. That night I was sad but United had an amazing team and they deserved. Juventus was at the end of a great era.
1.14-1.24 sums that whole scene up. Keane and Scholes still grounded in the moment knowing they had won nothing yet and would not be playing in the final.
Roy Keane's final.Thanks Roy,the greatest performance I've seen.
Keane got us in that final and sacrificed his place in the final for that tackle on Zidane. No complaints afterwards either. Not celebrating like a lunatic after winning either. True Leader, don't think we'll get close to a player like him again.
What a captain Roy Keane was. Forget his current media celebrity, he was the 90’s Robbo in almost every way.
Robbo¿
Swear if you’re comparing Andy Robertson to Roy Keane, just stop while you’re ahead
Robbo - United fans know I’m referring to Bryan Robson
Robbo - United fans know I’m referring to Bryan Robson
Respect, being of the current generation and never seeing him play I wouldn’t of known Bryan Robson was referred to as Robbo
Sir Alex's facial expression says it all. Pure happiness.
One of the most important nights - a milestone for this team.
Roy, Scholes - FOR THE TEAM! ALWAYS...
Keano was a tough and a super player. He took one for the team yes he missed out but ask him and he says " i would do the same again" NO REGRETS. A Legend!!
Probably one of the greatest comebacks ever, two nil down away against one of the best defending teams in the world at the time and scoring to three goals in a knock-out style victory, absolutely classic...
Bobby ❤
Definitely no love lost between keane and Schmeichel
@irate primate rememebr Keane was banned from the final, so he wouldnt have been as happy as the others anyway. Maybe he just didnt really feel like celebrating too much
Steven Connolly they absolutely hate each other, I read keanos book. Absolutely loathes him
@@gray39sleigh28 do you know why?
@@cliveuuking4602 Think one pre season Keane called Pete out on his behaviour. A fight happened. Brothers on the pitch. But outside a respectful hatred.
Have a listen to this and it'll explain all... ruclips.net/video/P0Cx5FlXvjs/видео.html
Cameraman pinpointed the second the penny dropped for Keane and Scholes. Great filming but really sad moments. Just shows how that season was all about the squad not just 11
That season was like a dream. Surreal. All the matches had drama.

"Its a great ball from Beckham, but this goal is all about the speed, the power and the guts of the Manchester United captain.!
When they zoom in on Keane and Scholes, it felt like I was watching a commentary from Animal Planet
Sheringham had 8 packs of abs...never seen such a thing lol
David May takes off his shirt and he wasn't even playing lol
The opposite of John Terry?
See his performance in the second leg quarter vs Inter tho
Keano steaming but focused and Scholes just looking like a lost school boy.
Fergie is the best manager, but he and Manchester United is nothing without Keano.
It is Keano the real hero for those glorious years
Except. Fergie won European and domestic cups at United before and after Keane's tenure
Keane was fantastic, but to call him the sole reason we were so successful for so long is disrespectful to his team mates, and the manager. As stated on the other comment here, United were still successful once Keane left...
Keano was a perfect Ferguson player, he was awesome. But Man utd and Ferguson would've been successful without him
@@gold6813 was gonna type pretty much the same thing!!
Amazing rare footage!
Good lads who always gave 100 percent for the club and the fans and got they’re rewards for it need more players like these in the club again.
Back when watching united was good for every one even if you didn’t support them
now you could watch them as dancers on tiktok
This is why they won so much.. just for that well played boys and hug at the end sir Alex was special to players
Wasn't Brown part of the Busby babes he's been around forever
This is the best ever man united team squad.
I'm a Liverpool fan but this was a such a great team. Not just skill but the desire to win was something special with this group. And I loved that kit. Much better than the ones today.

Both Keane and scholes looked dejected to be honest and was probably not in the mood for the celebrations.
