so much talent for such a bunch of young kids. ole via knew he had something special and hooked them, and us of course, up. too bad how those labels and radio knuckleheads decided that this type of music wasn't that great anymore. smh. thanks for posting this vid.
At the time, they blew most veteran adult acts off the stage. I always wondered if they stepped aside for the Alternative Grunge bands like their adult counterparts mostly did? Or did they call it quits because not enough people were willing to have faith in them as teenage kids? Or if they could have continued on together through the years? Surely, they would only gotten even better?
I remember them. Thomas (guitar player) was a Steve Vai prodigy at the time and expected to be the next bi thing; yet is was actually Brooks Wackerman that had the most success drumming for Bad Religion and A7x
It was random, but he's clearly trying to get a shout out for whoever that brand of tubes is, tubes being glass valves for his Marshall amplifier. If you knew that already apologies. It is cringey how he does it but he's 13 right? Lol
So funny looking back at these episodes. There was clearly a difference in the way Rikki treated the bands he interviewed. He either loved them, or could barely give a shit. It didn't help that a lot of these bands were really bad at interviews either. I'm guessing there was next to no show prep at all.
Yo check it, after head bangers ball was over I went to sleep got up the next morning and grab my skateboard and headed up to the mall. So I bought bad 4 good the cassette tape and a cassette player Walkman too. Ever since this episode of Headbangers ball I became a big fan of bad 4 good.
@@shawneldridge4465 Believe me, I bug them on social media about it once or twice a year! None of them is opposed to it, but they're also not super motivated to do it, and all have busy schedules. But never say never!
The loudest guy on his instrument and the quiet one doing press. Badass drummer. From IG to BR to A7X (surprised at that move) got to hang w him when he was in BR on tour in Detroit for the Empire Strikes album. Really cool dude. His brother Chad is a badass as well playing notably w the late great Frank Zappa.
I remember the original airing....if any of my recordings survived...somebody somewhere might still have my vhs cassettes with this interview. They seemed to be the only guests on Headbanger's Ball that made Rickie Rachman ....uncomfortable? I think now its because they were kids ,13-17 years old. Several times he seemed distracted and or often not able to understand them. Yeah, Thomas's English is hard to hear and distinguish. But not impossible to understand. Adults, for you! Then again, I can relate, because I was quiet and probably mumbled/spoke quietly a lot as a kid. I was very shy. As an adult, I could not avoid talking to coworkers and employers. Took some time to speak up. I got comfortable with people over time...now I don't shut up much...lol! Anyway, for whatever reason, Rachman was acting weird and douchier than normal in that episode.
Thomas kept playing after they broke up. But then he quit for like 20 years got into tech stuff. But he's been back to playing, he has a huge YT channel, he's done some solo stuff and he has a band, they opened for DragonForce In Northern Europe tour. He's very chill, owns a guitar software/ mod company, he's also a producer and Engineer.
Their song: aint nothing great about a heartache, is so damn good, when i first heard it, i played it so much, even in the mornings when i leave to work lol. Good times
I still have a cassette that i ripped off the radio of these guys from a live show , i believe it was at the Roxy ...Radio One use to have a really late night live rock radio show on Saturday/Sunday nights in the 90s ...they were stupid freaking good live ...i cherish the cassette to this day .. seriously, the potential with these guys was big ..of course Brooks drummed for BR and now A7x ...would love a reunion show with these guys
I try to mention to these guys every couple of years they need to do a reunion show, lol! You should put the audio from that show on RUclips. I'd love to hear it! There is SO little live performances of theirs out there!
Riki Rachtman bothered me on headbangers ball. lol He was only 10 yrs older than me but, I always felt like he was so old. lol I was 18 when Bad4good's Refugee album came out. I loved them then and still love them now at almost 46. I def had lil crushes on them... Brooks, Danny, Thomas and Zack. Bad4Good was extremely talented and sadly so underrated. I hope they're all still making music out there. 💕 Here's to Danny on Different Strokes, Terminator 2 and Salute your Shorts. I grew up watching him. Thank you for the laughs. 😄
I still have this CD. I bought it after watching the Nineteen video on Headbangers Ball. I watched Danny in all that stuff you mentioned, too! I talk to Thomas McRocklin on his channel. He's a super nice guy. I'm thinking about talking about this album on my channel. Cheers! 🍻
That's how I felt about Alternative Grunge.... Not as angry about it now .....but metal did survive....of course in most other parts of the world outside the USA.

I wish they would have been successful.

It's crazy they were not bigger! I know they were very popular with all the kids at my school at that time.
I considered them a success. They had a record and a tour.
So annoying having long hair, feels like your balancing a bowling ball on your head.
Thomas McRocklin was on my channel today talking guitars and gear and we had a great time!
God he is amazing
Budnick!
They should have "terminated" this interview,etc...
B4G was actually a really good band.
They were, but they came out like a year too late, unfortunately.
Silverchair took their place a few years later. Maybe if Bad4Good stuck around, they could’ve toured together.
It’s Bobby Budnick 😂
I remember them. Thomas (guitar player) was a Steve Vai prodigy at the time and expected to be the next bi thing; yet is was actually Brooks Wackerman that had the most success drumming for Bad Religion and A7x
danny started geting pissed when the guys asked about diffrent strokes lol
They should have asked him about Salute Your Shorts.
@@AlbanianMan
Thank you!
Whatchu talkin' 'bout Riki?!
A tour with Skid Row would’ve fit perfectly..
OH HOLY SHIT.........THIS WAS BUDNICKS BAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
perfect typical 80's band name Bad4Good
Charlie Brown round head tubes? Wtf was that about lol

I remember watching this when I was a teenager and the 2 guys standing up didn't get to stay a word
Maybe they were shy....
@@adambinnie1332 no, the interviewer was horribly and completely ignored them!
Interviewers always tend to talk to the lead singers or the lead guitarist never the bassist or drummer. It’s a terrible trend
Well the drummer played with Bad Religion and now with Avenged Sevenfold
How is a 16 year old gonna say the name Nigel Dick without laughing or at least smirking?

As good as any band in that genre
They definitely could stand on their own.

He is a god now. Very underrated
Oh, the girls must've loved loved these guys. I wish I could've looked like the guy standing behind Danny.
Peter Raymond I was 18 in 1992 and I loved them. 😁💕 Brooks was quite handsome as was Thomas and Danny, Zack was cute. They were so talented, so young.

danlc95 In 1992 I was 3.. I'm on a nostalgia kick and wound up here after looking for episodes of Salute Your Shorts !!
always wanted to hear the lucy's milk stuff.
It's great that Brooks is in a band now that's actually going somewhere. Such an amazing drummer.
Well as far as I know, they're all doing something. I think aside from voice acting, Danny is doing country and blues type music.
Bad Religion is a great band and legendary punk rockers that inspired Green Day and Blink 182. A band far from 'going nowhere'!
Love these boys!

Danny was definitely apart of our youth and pop culture. From Different Strokes to Terminator 2; Salute Your Shorts was icing on the cake IMHO.
Cheers for your musical taste!
