He said "its up to us to make a great 3rd record and not sell out and make it even heavier" little did everyone know it would debut at number fucking 1 and it was heavier than ever before. Such an amazing album
I was 20 in 1990 and got to see a bunch of Pantera tours. White Zombie, Pantera and Anthrax on acid was awesome. Living in Florida at this time was nuts. Tours and the local scene was amazing. Legendary times
@ yeah I lived in Gainesville and Boca Raton and saw every kickass metal show I could in the entire state. Back then a student could afford to go to shows. We killed it!
You ain’t kiddin’, Jack. I saw Pantera and White Zombie together up in Jacksonville. How does it get cooler than that? And our local scene was kicking ass. Now, everything is shite. I’m glad I’m old because I’ll be dead before it can get much worse. 😂
Saw this tour in Tulsa, OK December ‘92. I was 13 and I still have that ticket stub. It was my first show and I’m pretty sure I was the youngest kid there. Still can’t believe my parents let me go!
I am a mortician here in tulsa. I grew up in Bartlesville. I grew up in the deathcore/hardcore scene. It must have been insane seeing them here in the 90's the year I was born lol. The metal scene is still alive my friend.
@@clintonkotcha7452 it was at the fairgrounds, but it wasn’t the Pavilion. It was called the Cabaret Theater. It seemed like a spot you probably walked through to buy arts, crafts, guns, and beef jerky during the fair. The pit area was lined with plastic chairs that were linked together at the feet. Trouble was listed in the bill, but they weren’t there that day. When White Zombie started, those chairs got destroyed and all the security I had seen walking around vanished!
@@butchvito came to comment it, glad someone else beat me to it. Add "It Makes Them Disappear" to that, too. Top 3 Pantera song for me and that's one of his best. Monster song.
From bout the 4:50 mark to bout the end or so when Phil is talking about the 3 record. As we all know today, Pantera Far Beyond Driven debuted at number one, which is the 3 record. I think they accomplished what Phil said here what the goal was.
I seen Pantera in sunrise Florida when they opened for skid row. They played two nites. The band took a break and phil came out w diamonds guitar and solod, then sparked up a j, was the coolest shit ever.
They still got GREAT metal out there. Between the Buried and Me is probably my favorite metal band ever and they’re modern metal. All the metal of today was influenced by the metal of yesterday…
Pantera & White Zombie were two mainstream bands that actually did get heavier each album release. Such a rare thing for a band to get better as they age but you can hear it. Better musicianship, heavier grooves, & progression in song writing. Both stopped earlier than they should’ve.
These days of Headbangers Ball were SO AWESOME!!! Man, I miss the days... and what a shame it was how Pantera fell apart, and everything that happened... frickin travesty.
Little did we know then that next 3rd album would be the best metal album ever and debut at #1! Saw them on the FBD tour which was my first concert at the age of 12. Unfreakinbelievable.
4:49 and true enough the 3rd album went #1 on the charts, the only album that extremely heavy to ever be #1 still to this day! Congratulations PanterA and RIP DIME and VIN ❤🤘🤩👍❤
The first metal album to go #1 was Metal Health by Quiet Riot in 1983… Metallica had four albums go #1. Also Van Halen and Rage Against The Machine had multiple albums go #1. Tool’s “Lateralus” in 2001. Also Guns N Roses had a couple at least, and Motley Crue’s Dr. Feelgood also went #1… Marilyn Manson also had two albums hit number one.
Their first album on a major label. No one knew White Zombie until the Thunder Kiss '65 single was released. We didn't have Wikipedia in 1992 to look up nonsense.
Im a long time White Zombie fan. Nobody cares anymore. The quality on the early White Zombie stuff is rough lol even the remasters are rough. Rob damaged their legacy. His solo stuff bliws except the first one.
when speaking of discographies, it's common to start it with the first major release. Hell, Pantera had 4 records before CFH, but CFH is seen as their debut
@erakattack I knew somebody would say this. You got me. But maybe they imploded Pantera purposely, knowing they couldn't possibly keep getting heavier. They had to "reinvent" what heavy actually is. I dunno. Let's ask Phil.
Damn, Rob did not seem like he wanted to be there. Phil was great though. If only i could have been there at the time to see these bands, aswell as Suicidal Tendencies... But i was born that year. Thank god for the internet so we can see these nowadays.
This was when MTv was good, it all went to Sh!t when they started playing Rap. Any dumb ass can rap through auto tone over computer generated beats. Bring real music back with real talent and real instruments in the mainstream.
2:22 😂”Even though “This Love” starts off like a ballad, it’s still got a lot of emotion.” Because ballads aren’t emotional or anything. 😂 What are you even saying, Rikki!?
Rob is snowed out of his mind..and his miserable attitude is I wan more snow leave me alone…and his no no no answers were due to him literally being just right around the corner from making the switch from white zombie to rob zombie..but this entire interview he’s picking at his nose
I miss the 90s
Me too. I describe that era to the younger guys at work and I swear they don't believe half of what I say. It was the best time to be a teenager
Ssme here... Unless you lived that era u don't know what your missing. The 90s was wayyyy better then today
Me too brother me too.
🤣🤣🤣 Amazingness Thank you for such a great re upload. Never have those kind of tv days again
He said "its up to us to make a great 3rd record and not sell out and make it even heavier" little did everyone know it would debut at number fucking 1 and it was heavier than ever before. Such an amazing album
Pantera Forever Stronger Than All. Greatest metal band.
Ever
👎
Correct! By far!! RIP DIME AND VINNIE.
I was 20 in 1990 and got to see a bunch of Pantera tours. White Zombie, Pantera and Anthrax on acid was awesome. Living in Florida at this time was nuts. Tours and the local scene was amazing. Legendary times
The best times brother, stay heavy🤘
Tampa?

Rob seems thrilled to be there.
Always...
lol he's just kind of an anxious dude, with an odd sense of humor. I used to always think he was an asshole until I saw more interviews with him
Lol
He hates it you can tell
I saw Pantera and White Zombie in ‘92, and it’s still the best show I’ve ever seen!. Vulgar Display + La Sexorcisto LIVE 🤯
Two masterpieces and two marvellous band
Honestly, who was better?
I love how Phil covers and shakes his head almost on all of the videos they were presenting!!!!!
Unfortunately that caused him great pain. Poor dude suffered horribly.
lmao 2:02 12:45 except for Suicidal Tendencies 14:41
Especially when they said Great White 😂
Man way back in the day
Best concert hands down seen Pantera and White Zombie in 1995 came out with a black eye and busted lip best time ever 🤘
Headbangers was so cool!!
This interview was S tier, young Rob and Phil are HILARIOUS
Imagine if Phil kept being this chill dude throught the whole 90's. Damn, what if
he blew out his back soon after this interview I think, it was sometime in 1992.
We would have never seen the masterpiece Great Southern Trendkill. That's what would happen if Phil stayed chill.
He was chill. Heroin is Satan better believe it
Phil has always been chill, heroin fucked him up

MISS THIS TIME ❤️🩹🤘🏻👹
Saw this tour at Red Rocks Co. 92 was an absolute banger....🔥
MISSED THE '90'S BANDS!💀🤘😎 PANTERA MISSED THE MOST!!!🎼🎶🎸💕🙏
💕🙏R. I. P🙏DIME & VINNIE🙏💕🥁👊😭
At the mention of Great White, Philip puts his head in his hands to stop from laughing his ass off. 😂
I saw this tour and the testament white zombie show. I whammy dived jay yuengers guitar and heard it over the pa. Was way cool 🎉🎉🎉 great shows

Fk i miss HBB and 90s metal. RIP Dimebag.
They still got GREAT metal out there. Between the Buried and Me is probably my favorite metal band ever and they’re modern metal. All the metal of today was influenced by the metal of yesterday…
Wow, I wish they would’ve turned the music off in the background more. I can barely hear it.
Holy shit, how have I never seen this! Two groove metal gods

2:02 😂 I don’t ever recall hearing this Great White banger in my life. 😂
phils the man long live pantera
This tour man! Would have loved to make it to that one!
these 2 are awesome together

Also Slipknot had a couple, as well, I think. So the “heaviest” would be a toss up between them and Pantera… and maybe Rage Against The Machine.
I think I saw them in St. Louis on this tour
Zombie was always miserable.
Crazy times
I miss the great old days!!
Saw this tour two nights at red rocks
Aaah, the 90s. Pantera and White Zombie. Still getting off on that shit all the time.
❤❤❤❤❤
rob zombie on that 90s coke
Kook. Hates Skateboarders.
Hard to believe Rob was tough to work with…
Dude the next record is gonna be heavy.... Far beyond Driven and goes number 1! Dude so good watching now knowing the history!
White Zombie>Rob Zombie
Hails Phil!!!
I miss Phil Anselmo from 90s
Riki... La Sexorcisto was not WZ's first album, it was their third.
Before that they had Soul-Crusher in 1987 and Make Them Die Slowly in 1989.
Their first album on a major label. No one knew White Zombie until the Thunder Kiss '65 single was released. We didn't have Wikipedia in 1992 to look up nonsense.

That Last Crack album is good! Phil from White Zombie on drums. Worth checking out.
🤘🤘
"Not selling out" , "the next record is going to be heavier" , from Phil, and Rob's prediction for "White" Zombie.........
R.I.P jack Russell
Second that
Rob zombie looks like hes going deer hunting in new york city
😂
“Third record”, seventh you mean lol
I forgot about trouble! time to dig back in.
Of all the things i was anticipating to hear from headbangers ball it never occured to me that gg allin would get a name drop.
Miss headbangers ball 😢 MTV went to s#@t letting all these reality shows that take over 🖕
It's bad ass and sad at the same time. Pantera albums got progressively heavier. Each one until the band imploded on itself. That's heavy man😂
RTS was definitely not heavier than TGSTK
@erakattack I knew somebody would say this. You got me. But maybe they imploded Pantera purposely, knowing they couldn't possibly keep getting heavier. They had to "reinvent" what heavy actually is. I dunno. Let's ask Phil.
Exodus slayed rob zombie back in the 90s!🎶🤘🏻And today for that matter ..
White zombie's greatest album! in my humble opinion.
It definitely seems like Rob dislikes Ricky. Lol
Doesn't it? Lol. The evolution of Ricky is intresting. Remember he went through his RapMetal phase? Lol.
The phrase "Rob from White Zombie" sounds so weird

O btw 3
True Pantera fans already know 🤘🏻 feel it Mf
This interview alone pretty much shows why pantera didn’t like rob haha
So what did Darrell do?
Rob is either irritated by doing this interview or he has extreme anxiety with cameras on him. Anyone else notice his jitteryness the whole time?
Just seems immature
2:22 😂”Even though “This Love” starts off like a ballad, it’s still got a lot of emotion.” Because ballads aren’t emotional or anything. 😂 What are you even saying, Rikki!?
No one seems to notice the tension between Phil & Rob🤭
How do you confuse awkwardness with tension?
I don’t notice any tension between anyone. All I notice is that Rob was kind of not in a talkative mood. Maybe didn’t have sleep. Who knows.
Tension? So much tension they toured again in 1996. Have you ever seen Rob NOT look uncomfortable in his own skin?
What tension? They were joking around the whole time. I'd even say that Rob didn't really show much personality until Phil came out.
@@travisspaulding2222 you are totally right!
I miss the old days. Today's era really sucks ass.
You can tell rob zombie didn't like being second fiddle to phil and pantera ,but phil and pantera had actual talent
Rob Zombie clearly hated doing this interview
Acid bath!
There back baby!
Lol rob has always been a huge douche. He knew pantera whooped thier ass, and he was visably upset.
LSD...lead singer disease....is a horrible efliction that effects many bands...
Rob seems so uninterested.

Vulgar Display still remained heavier than FBD. The production on Driven was a bit trebly. Vulgar has a thicker tone.
Agree to disagree
hell no
I hate everything so I'm gonna be in a big band and go to interviews I hate so I can show everyone how much hate them
Rob is a typical rich kid Jew.
His parents were carnival employees from some bum fk nowhere town.
Why did you capitalize the "j"?
