This is exactly why i stopped messing with my cars. You spend a ton of money and then just invite so many headaches and problems it becomes a car you dont even drive - and then wind up buying another normal car that doesnt break down every week. It truly goes full circle.
    Beautiful car though.

@@kctyphoon you're not wrong. This cars thankfully just for hobby, and was never considered for much more than cruising occasionally and shows.

My first car was a 1990 Ford T-bird SC. I loved it. I traveled both ways between both of my parents in sepetate cities Flagstaff AZ @ 7250ft altitude and Phoenix AZ @ 1800ft altitude and it was fun. It wasnt the fastest car but to this day i dont think ive driven a car that stuck to high speed curvy roads better then the Tbird SC. It is such a big, wide and very low car. In sport mode it would squat an inch and get real firm, if i remember correctly but felt like i was on rails going down any canyon roads 90-110mph. In stock form the SC is an inch lower, inch longer and a couple inches wider then a current Dodge Challenger (to give you an idea on its size). Plus about 400lbs lighter compared to the v6 Challenger. I want to do a custom yet reliable 600ish hp procharged 5.0 coyote swap into a good SC body. Im ocd about making sure all parts stay true to Ford or other manufacturers in their builds. But love what your doing with this. Thumbs up!

What a beautiful example of an SC. The first car I ever built as a late teenager was a 91 SC 5-speed. Obviously it wasn't a build anything on this level. but it was a fun car and a such a sleeper at the time. I did simple port matching to the heads/intake, found a used ported 94/95 blower, raised lid, catless exhaust, other basic bolt-ons and a 75 shot. Never got it to the track fully modded, but my buddy had a 12.90 Mustang that I'd pull on the freeway on the spray. That brought me to realization of how expensive it would be to go much further with the car, and I decided to start building V8s instead LOL.
If I were to buy another SC today, yours is the exact example of one that I'd want to have. Just an awesome build!

I tell ya Tim our Supercoupes seems to be one of the most underappreciated cars made, especially for it being car of the year for 1989. Sometimes I wonder what a modernized SC model would look like with a better reliable engine, tech, interior etc. Something that held onto some of the SC looks and features but just better

    • @628productions

They were certainly ahead of the curve in many areas. Besides the Corvette they were the only domestic car using the IRS at that time, electronic suspension, ABS, Fords first production supercharged engine. Also 16inch wheels were insane in the late 80s early 90s (funny writing that now). I also believe all this "new" technology made buyers nervous ...and well wrap that fear up with a headgasket failure prone engine and here we are today. Figures crossed they bring Thunderbird back one day...and not as a pickup truck. 🤙🏻

Holy crap man, I thought I had a lot in my 93 v8 bird. I'm getting ready to throw on the '94-95 cobra intake (that I've had in boxes for too long now) with a set of sve heads, at this point I'm north of $20k into mine, with everything I've done and I haven't even touched the cosmetics.

I thought I was the only person with 7 or 8 transmissions 😀 For the record, i dont like looking at how much I've got in my car. I've owned mine since 1994 and have bought pioneering parts that are later proven not to work (i.e. Kenne Bell switch chip and Baumannator 4r70w stand-alone controller).
