When I blew the head gaskets in my SC I used head gaskets for a 4.2l V6 from a 1997 F150. They are MLS and are far superior to the factory gaskets for the 3.8l. I couldn't tell when I watched the video of you had MLS gaskets or not. I really wish I wouldn't have sold my SC. I had a lot done to mine. I had a Magnum Powers Xtreme supercharger with the 25% overdrive pulley set. 60lb injectors, MP 85mm throttle body,75mm Pro-M Maf, MP front mount intercooler, BHJ billet harmonic balancer, Super Coupe Performance exhaust with long tube headers. Also had an EEC tuner for programming. Snow methanol injection and under drive pullies on the accessories. I had an an Art Carr shift improver kit in the transmission. The car was awesome to say the least. It was my favorite vehicle that I've ever had and I'd love to get another one some day.
That sounds like a really neat car! Maybe you will have to build another SC one day! The gaskets I used were not MLS gaskets. That is a really good idea though. I will look into that if I do another one.
AWESOME!!!!! havent even started the video yet, I blew up my motor last summer and starting my rebuild this summer on it. Hopefully going to remember this as a reference!
oh you used the regular head gaskets. i always use the MLS 99 mustang head gaskets. better reliability for the boost. i know a ton about these. im t-bird shane
Seriously wonderful video. Wish i couldve had this 2 years ago! once upon a time i tightened a supercharger pipe wayyyy too hard one side before the other and completely cracked the plenum! (2 days before my dyno;-;) had to steal off of the parts car and still couldnt get it running in time to dyno it
i know youre probably done with this engine already but you REALLY need to check out Mustang V6 Tech Support youtube's channel. he has two built 3.8s one with a liquid cooled upper intake and one with a Nissan gtr upper intake.
Thanks again for being so meticulous! I could not be happier with the finished product. This car is going to be running in the next 2 weeks!
Thank! It was a pleasure to build!
The cost of fuel has made me a fan of smaller engines...I like the supercharged 3.8. Thanks for the video, I feel informed now.
Thank you for making the video and doing this for Joel! Beautiful work!

The injectors from a 4.6 will fit them as well. Just different plug
I remember buying new spark plugs for my 90 SC. I never actually found where they went.

Im building A TT 95 SN95
bad ass work on this engine but a lil paint would have went a long way for looks.
Who can rebuild a 1999 thunderbird motor with a factory 6 cyl with the factory blower and put it in a 03 mustang with a 6cyl 3.8 in it ?
How much horsepower is this engine produce?
