I've got tears running down my face. That was a stunning routine. What a joy to see Dianne's parents finally here to watch their amazing daughter. Her brothers are also here so the whole Buswell family is staying with Dianne and Joe for Christmas and Strictly. Chris didn't put a foot wrong. He and Dianne are stars.
This routine was amazing and it was so lovely that dianne's parents were able to come over from Australia to watch them dance! Chris constantly amazes me every week on strictly! ❤❤

The footwork was so good, right? When he needed to be quick, he was and he kept both timing and balance, and in the slow moments (like the one you highlighted), it was also all about the balance.
I’m always impressed by the subtle movements Dianne makes to help Chris. In this dance, while she was on the floor, quickly moving her skirt out of the way so Chris could walk around safely. Well done to both for a great Paso!
This was a brave decision to go for a traditional paso, to traditional music where there are no lyrics to help understand and link to moves. How Chris made the shapes, kept in time and led Dianne around the floor was astonishing. Shes challenging him every week. So proud of them both, and the fact Chris was well out of his comfort zone, yet did this for her and her parents, very humbling to witness their dancing and emotional bond

As Dianne says to Chris... I am so proud of you both and I know Dianne's parents are too. As awful as it was in the circumstances of last year that Dianne's parents could not come over as planned and no one would wish that on anyone, I think it was meant to be that they were here this year to see their daughter dance with Chris and this amazing partnership they have. I know that it was a goal for you to still be in when Mark and Rena came over but now please keep going and achieve many more goals and how lovely it would be to get the glittery goal.
PS I loved that Diane in character moved her dress when she was on the floor so that Chris could dance around her with ease. Little touches I know but all carefully thought through.

I love how aware and considerate Dianne is as a dance partner --- when she was down on the floor, she scooped up her flared skirt and pulled it close to her to ensure that Chris does not trip on it when he moved from her left to her right.
I was so impressed with this. How Diane managed to describe what a Paso Doble is, is beyond me, it must be one of the hardest dances to explain! Chris did amazing. It just gets me that he hits every movement he should be doing right on time, because he can't even look at Diane for reassurance!
I mean, really.... This is the work of a professional dancer teaching a blind person how to dance. It blows my mind. Yes, not the best this year, but surely the most inspirational thing I've ever seen.
Another week, another astounding performance! Not their best, but still fantastic. The characterisation, shaping, intensity, and focus, all excellent. I was hoping Chris would have done knee walks, but the slide was great. Would've been super cool choregraphically to see him work with a cape. Di's parents were elated, so lovely seeing them!
I wanted cape work too but then they would have had to figure how to get the cape into his hands to do it properly when he can’t see. I don’t know how they would have worked it in except at the very beginning but it really didn’t fit the music there.
Score - *8* That knee slide was fabulous, and Chris really nailed the shaping im that section. I loved the style they went for and many of the basics were executed well like the twist turns and seperation. They should have done a Torvill and Dean and went on the floor together at the end, it's not necessarily that his shaping was bad it just looked out of place for the end, I also thought his posture wasn't as good as it has been before and the stomping was abit exaggerated. As always it was full of drive, authority and technical mastering, they truly are in with a shot for the glitter ball no doubting that 👏🏻
If you’re referring to Torvill and Dean’s Bolero, it wouldn’t work in this case. Jayne and Chris both ended up on the floor because the Bolero was about two lovers who throw themselves into a volcano so they could be together because they were being forced apart in life. So the Torvill and Dean story doesn’t fit the paso story here. Jayne and Chris did do a paso that same season, if they did want to take inspiration from them. Sorry big Torvill and Dean fan here
Next is Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell dancing the Paso Doble. First off got to say that it was wonderful to see Dianne's mum and dad, they are so kind and sweet and we now know why Dianne is so amazing being raised by a wonderful mum and dad, it was also wonderful to see that Dianne's mum and dad seemed to think highly of Chris and that they all got along so well right on to the dance. I thought this Paso Doble was a bit placed, needed to be smoothed out, a little wooden and needed more energy however I love the classical style of Paso Doble so I loved the outfits Chris and Dianne were wearing, I loved the music and I thought that even tho the dance needed technical work I thought it was amazing, my favourite pair this series hope they make it to the final and Win.
Oh bless them Diane's parents were so proud of diane and Chris's dance it made me feel quite emotional but i am sure Craig forgets that Chris is blind sometimes with his criticism i think Craig should try dancing blindfolded to get a taste of Chris's world and I want them to win 🏆❤️❤️💙😃
In addition perhaps when blindfolded give Craig a task he has never heard of or seen before and ask him to undertake it as if he could see and judge him against others.
I think that's when burst into tears! They're just brilliant together. Dianne is an incredible teacher and Chris is her perfect student. I couldn't love this partnership more ❤️
Obviously not his best but the fact he could do this at ALL and with such difficult technique that he admitted he found hard is one to be proud of. He could have easily said he was not taking this dance seriously but he committed and still was determined to do this for Dianne. I felt they were given a risky week and was screwed over for the Sambathon. Sometimes it’s not about being equal but fair.
I know Chris struggled to get into character this week but I thought he danced really good. And we can't say enough about Dianne and her teachings! It was a challenge but both did fantastic tonight. Glad Dianne's parents are there. Smiling 😃 8/10
🔥🔥🔥 Loved seeing a different side to Chris!! His intensity and commitment to the character here wowed me. And this is so wildly different from everything else he's done, no wonder it took him 3 days to understand it 😂.. I feel like a modern version with some faffing and a few Paso shapes thrown in might have been easier to grasp for someone with no visual references (and we've seen a few Pasos like that on strictly) but Dianne doesn't dumb it down. It was so full of content. Now to my untrained eye, it did feel like he didn't completely get the shaping perfect in some parts, so I get where Craig and Motsi were coming from. But there was no shortage of character and so much heart. Well done Chris and Di ❤

Nice! Craig is kinds right, but one has to be less harsh on Chris due to his unique circumstances. This is certainly a lot better than I'd expect an amateur blind dancer to dance a Paso. The more technical dance are left for them, it does seem, but it gives me hope he's not pushing a limit.
Would never watch the junk TV that is Strictly, z list celebrities, nothing about talent but social media presence. However, I would watch a documentary series about how they teach a Choreography a blind dancer vs a deaf dancer (I know there has been a deaf dancer a several years ago in the USA). Two disabilities that are vital for dancing - can't see the moves, vs can't hear the music

This performance was filled to the brim with paso content, so traditional I loved it. In terms of the execution, it wasn’t Chris’ best. I think he tried a bit too hard (which in fairness I’d prefer he went wrong whilst giving it all than hold back and play safe). But I know they’ll be safe so next week I’m sure he’ll bring it if he has a ballroom dance. 😊
