Isn't it more reasonable to suspect authoritarians are coordinating against democracies? You know, like Russia in Ukraine; China preparing for Taiwan and er, Iran using its proxy to provoke strong response and hide behind its people - thus weakening Western support for only democratic outpost in Middle East? I can't help but feel like that might be a much stronger voice of reason.
