In a lot of ways, the Flintstones: On the Rocks was more of a lookback at 1950s/60s Americana values and aesthetics as much as a tribute to the original show.
Damn I wish they would release Flintstones: On The Rocks on DVD! I still don't understand why they never have. It was easily the best of all the Flintstones productions.
I think it has to do that it was too adult for their target audience. Still this movie is a masterpiece and if the Snyder Cut could make it, then lets make WB bring back this movie in full HD
This movie seriously needs to be on boomerang, dvd or any streaming service. I had this recorded on vhs but eventually threw all my recorded tapes away and I’ve regretted it ever since.
This was very out-of-character for the Flintstones, because it had a lot of dialogue-less moments. In the original series, there was hardly a moment when Fred would ever shut up. But I did enjoy the ending where (SPOILER ALERT) the mystery lady turns out to be an undercover cop, and Fred won't stop repeating "You're a cop?"
OMG Fred's having an affair!!!!! I wish I would have caught this special when it originally aired. They really captured the "old style" Flintstones look and feel. Almost expect to see a Winston commercial.
This is great! Thanks for posting this! Sometime ago I bought the movie "the flintstones:on the rocks" but it was only a VHS.haven't been able to play it lately... Great cartoon 'though. They look and sound like the old cartoons soundtrack, voices and all.
this sequence was made by screen novelties the company who would later handle the stop motions sequences in chowder and the marvelous misadventures of flapjack
this rocks! they should've done the whole movie in stop -motion & released it in theatres..i would've paid to see it 3 times & bought the dvd release!.. speaking of which, has cartoon network released this on dvd or vhs? i want a copy so bad that i can taste it! ..oh, one more thing...don't get married! it starts out really cool & then many years later, it 's nothing but stress & drama..stay single! there's nothing in it for you if you're a guy! stay single!..flintstones on the rocks, indeed!
Actually, it's a crapshoot. There's no 100% guarantee that your kids will love you or respect you or really truly appreciate anything that you've done for them. I was with my kids and their mother since day one. I grew up without a father, so I wanted to really be there for them. Never missed birthdays, holidays. Took them to every cartoon, Disney, Nickelodeon, Pixar, DreamWorks movie that came out. Bought and cooked every meal! Cleaned and drove them to and from school. Worked two jobs and still spent time with them. Worked nights and did without sleep so that I could be with them during the day, and so that no one could hurt them or try to take advantage them. I even gave them the house that they're living in today. They were babies in that house. It's all that they've ever known. How could I look them in their little eyes and take it from them with divorce lawyers and courts? But 20 years later, they don't even love me or respect me or even call me to see if I'm dead or alive. And we're right here in the same city! But their no-good mother perfectly brainwashed them against me because she was cheating with her co-workers and didn't want to come home to me and didn't want to be married anymore. I was homeless in my car for 3 years so that my children wouldn't have to be. 3 years to pay off attorney fees, courts and child support! But they didn't give a rat's behind and still don't to this day! My oldest daughter got married two years ago. She didn't tell me or invite me. But her adulterous and crazy mama was in every photo smiling like God's NOT going to come for her. So, by my count, 18 years and 400 grand down the drain. So, yeah, NOT having kids? Way MORE peace of mind, way MORE money in your pockets and WAY LESS DRAMA! Stay single and child-free, kings! Them man-hating courts and crooked white judges are all totally against you.
This is fantastic! I'd love to see a Flintstones stop motion movie. It would be a lot more interesting and true to the original instead of the live action one. Anyway, loved the clip! 5*
Esta bastante bien. Pero esto es un episodio? lo digo por la parte final, por que han debido de tener permiso de la antigua Hanna-Barbera para poder dibujarlos. Lo mismo me estoy colando xD

Me too
Now I get why some of the current Flintstones Pebbles Cerrel commercials are done in stop-motion: to pay tribute for this classic!
Warner needs to put this(along with the Tiny Toons specials,The John K shorts & 2 CN Scooby Doo specials) on DVD
What ? as part of the Warner Archive label ? That'll be a real treat to various 100& die hard Hanna-Barbera fans everywhere !
The colors in the stop motion piece are just simply amazing...

I positively loved this! Creative, fun, honors the classic toon, may whoever made this continue on to even more creative successes!!!!
The Flintstones: On the Rocks was William Hanna and Joe Barbera's last collaborative Flintstones-related project.
Yeah this sentiment aged well
This feels like it might have been inspired by The Big Lebowski’s dream sequence
This scene always cracks me up everytime totally made my evening great!
2:05
Coronation Street vibes!!!!! 😅😅😅😅😍😍😍😍

Why I was recommended this 14 years late I don't know. But once again the algorithm pulled through
hilarious i wish they would make more videos like these on tv or something
It sucks how this is the only HD clip of this special that has ever surfaced.
OMG Fred's having an affair!!!!!

wow, that is epic.
fantastic stop motion, just really well done.
Ooops..Freddy..That's a Dream...hehe
Trophy lady is a hottie!
Going for the “Rankin Bass” feel.
Makes me think of “Mad Monster Party”.
I remembered this when they showed it on Cartoon network a long time ago
This is great! Thanks for posting this! Sometime ago I bought the movie "the flintstones:on the rocks" but it was only a VHS.haven't been able to play it lately... Great cartoon 'though. They look and sound like the old cartoons soundtrack, voices and all.
0:46-1:23 Looks like I see a couple Prehistoric creatures of the Flintstones as Spot Motion Sequences as well. Hanna-Barbera eat your heart out.
this sequence was made by screen novelties the company who would later handle the stop motions sequences in chowder and the marvelous misadventures of flapjack
And now SpongeBob SquarePants
Awesome!...love how you took music from the Perry Guinite scene
This is damn good work!
Reminds me of when View Master reels used photographed clay figures.

Brilliant!
What the world needs.
Does anyone know the names of the music that plays in this scene? Or are they original pieces?
Same here I need help to finding the music pieces

Almost true. One thing that IS in it for you is kids.

Fun fact which I learned the other day: The people who animated this part would go on to animated Robot Chicken.
It kinda reminds of the opening credits to “Walt Disney’s The Parent Trap”.
So nice
i dunno about the xxx part at the end....i know its about bowling but it looked kinda like an adult store thing
0:57 Hanna Barbera Flintstones Whistle Steam Factory Long
GRAND DAD!
Kinda funny how when they're dancing it says XXX.
Just know Fred was Dreaming away from his past , win win win Greatest bowler in Bedrock
Fred is alway's a good bowler
Cool
Que buenos tiempos
grand dad
honestly it's quite a disgrace how stop motion is only ever used for adult "comedies" nowadays
Es perfecto.
Hello! Earth to Fred! You’re married to your wife, not dating that woman!
@F7wxqw It's an original TV movie called "Flintstones on the Rocks". Fred was dreaming of being in this scene while driving.
Wow it looks realistic
Nice stopmotion. Who created that?
Screen Novelties, the same people who made the stop motion Spongebob specials
@@ivanbutler5772 I thought it was Rankin/Bass!🤔
Hi friend. Do you have this movie completed? Please, if is, post on RUclips or send me uploading in a share website! Tks.
nice one
As Seen on Boomerang Theatre
You know screen novelties animated this one!
This must've took them a lot of hours to make
Rip fred
Remember viewers never daydream or imagine while Driving
Fred! You have a Wife!

Nice work but Fred 'punching' his foe is out of character.
