The attempt was to make a "21st Century" Flintstones that was based on the early seasons, i.e. before kids. The opening was pretty dark but it did lighten up as the episode went on. I have the whole thing somewhere. If I can locate it I will post it.

If the roles had been reversed, then everyone would be complaining about Fred being a wife beater. But since she's doing it, we're all supposed to find it funny. Not saying it's not because I found it hilarious but just saying.
Wow! That Wilma leap from the turn-buckle for the "Super-Fly" smash is amazing. Thankfully, this session boosted their "make up" intimacy as Wilma stayed lit; the raging tigress would not be denied, until Fred was this close to death.

As a kid, I wondered what the heck Fred meant by the secret of her being a natural redhead. Now as an adult, I realize there’s a lot of things that could easily be not as obvious to a kid as they are to an adult. A lot of really good hidden jokes here, but I don’t think it would’ve been handled well if movie came out now.😂😂😅
So in Fred's point of view, he sees Wilma as a combination of Peggy Bundy (Married with Children) & an over-exaggered Lucy (I Love Lucy)? Lazy, doesn't like to do chores, loves wasting husband's money, and a total drama queen.

I was a bit stunned reading the Wikipedia description and I'm a bit stunned actually seeing this. This really is a Flintstones special for adults. Not in that it's vulgar or obscene, but it's taking a surprisingly harsh look at some really grown up stuff.
