Did a lot of research. Nobody made these out of plastic mailboxes, so I did. Mounted to 1.5 inch PVC pipe slipped over a t-post, pine straw bedding. Screw gun, pocket knife, 1/4" bit, shim wood, nuts, bolts, washers, hardware cloth, baling wire. Ducks love them. You're welcome. 🤠👍
This idea has my attention as we just got access to a spot that has a couple of sloughs. Landowner does nothing for ducks but said I could. You cut the hole in what normally would be the top of the mailbox? What did you put on the inside so the ducklings could crawl out? Help us help the ducks.
Not a long term solution. Frost is going to heave that base, sun and predators are going to make quick work of that predator guard. Way too low to the ground.

Oops! Looks like you forgot to trim the lip off of your predator guard.
