  • The Saucony Ride series has been a staple neutral training lineup for the brand. It's also been an area for innovation for Saucony, and the Ride 17 continues that tradition with some new changes, which Matt covers in this review.

    Had to re-work my daugther's trainers this CC season. She developed some foot/arch pain after hitting a growth spurt leading to inflammation from running. Started last track season and has re-surfaced this season. She settled on the Ride 17s after doing short 400m jogs in 18 (yes 18) models of different shoes at our local B&M store. She is halfway through her season and loves them. Will probably get another pair when these wear out.

    Going towards a Triumph like shoe?

    • @pbnotj1
      @pbnotj1 9 месяцев назад

      I saw some running event coverage that triumph is moving to pebax foam all the way through. This is now the tpu power plus . Actually I think this will be a turn towards ride as power run plus tpu foam lasts longer.

    "The Tri... ehhh not Triumph" lmao🤣 This is definitely intentional in the script, lol

    Really want to thank the Docs for all of their content. I always check in with this channel when considering shoes and gaining knowledge of running biomechanics.
    I picked up the Ride 17s after having to return some Boston 12 as the welded upper section over the forefoot/metatarsals was pinching and creating a pressure point.
    Only thirty miles in with the Ride 17 but I'm really enjoying them. They fit.my foot better than the B12s. They are really comfortable clipping along at marathon and steady pace and seem to run much lighter than their weight (Think I measured them at 312 grams for a UK10.5) they run very naturally, I found the B12 although lighter and probably better for interval paces a bit blockier and slappy at slower paces. Rides are reasonable stable, a little long in the toe box perhaps.
    Really excited for the Rides to come down in price soon, they always do. Think I'll buy multiple pairs.

    IMHO, better than the Triumph. Triumph doesn't feel right to me with the 10mm heel-toe offset. I've always appreciated the 6-8mm range.

    Great I was thinking about getting this shoe but probably not now it looks just like the triumph. Looks like another super shoe. Trying to get over the hip pain from the triumph now and the knee pain. We won’t have any normal shoes left.

    Hello,
    Is there any noticeable arch support? I see there a lot of sculpting on the medial side.
    Thanks

      Compared to the previous version, no. The Ride 17 is neutral, especially with the softer foam. Definitely check out the Saucony guide 17, which we will talk about shortly.

    Do you think is capable shoe to run under 5min/km?

    • @DoctorsofRunning
      @DoctorsofRunning  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yes. We’re not saying it’s the best shoe for the job compared to a workout trainer but it is more than capable if you want a single trainer.

    Imagine if they called this the actual Triumph 22 and expectedly underachieved. That will be bad for marketing.. might as well call it an upgraded over-achieving Ride 17 then.
