I was invited by Emerald Waterways to join them on their Arles to Lyon river cruise. This was my first river cruise and it was AMAZING.

brought back some good memories, we were on the inaugural cruise of the liberte and enjoyed it, including the bridge contact incident. emerald should redesign the bathroom layout and move the door from beside the bed to the hall by the cabin entry door, otherwise a great ship and an even better crew.
Love this cabin particularly the safe. Bathroom great too!

Haha! The excursions always started at 9 or 9.30 and being out of bed at that time was such a struggle when the bed was so comfy!! Haha... 😂❤️
@@EmmaCruises I can just imagine. So is it that there is not much activities on river cruises? Also is it that you have to go on excursions to have fun?
@@theresechambers5168 Haha! River cruises are all about the destinations. Definitely should do the excursions. I was surprised about how much was going on onboard, not as much as a ocean cruise though because there's only 100 ish passengers! 😁❤️
That is a really nice cabin! I've never heard of Emerald before. In the U.S. , all the ads I see show 'Viking' River Cruises. I'm sure there are a lot of different lines in Europe. What a fun job you have! I'm jealous! :)
Agree, I'd be interested in finding another good river cruise company. Viking has become not that customer friendly anymore, I've traveled with them on four cruises but lately when I call them to ask about booking another they are not helpful.

Emerald is the budget line belonging to the Australian Scenic cruise line. I prefer Scenic but Emerald looks good too.
Yes, they are washclothes. Nice head (bathroom). Looks like a smaller version of an upscale hotel bathroom.

I've gone on a mini 'Emma Cruises' marathon this evening (new subscriber). At the end of this video, you said 'Bye' in kind of a high pitched loud voice and I suddenly got self-conscious that the people in the next cabin would be bothered by the sound. But...I'm in my living room, in my house, on land, with no close-by neighbors, lol. I think I need to take a break before I get sea sick!

I will need an iron and iron board, these are missing from the room. I think they also provide a pair of hiking post and an umbrella in each stateroom. Suggest to include electronic GPS with guide tour information to an app. Just my 2 cents to the cruise line. ❤❤❤
Hi Emma. I enjoyed this video...thumbs up! Was there a storage space under the bed for your luggage/suitcases? Prior to the pandemic, we travelled on Emerald Harmony on the Mekong and we had this type of storage for our luggage.
Emma, have you cruised on Avalon? The Avalon Panorama Suite puts the Emerald cabin to shame. Avalon’s cabin is 200 square feet vs Emerald’s 180. On Avalon’s French balcony, the entire glass wall opens up, not just a partial window. And… the bed faces the window!
It’s really a stretch to call that space a “balcony” just because you can open a window.

@@Texasbird026 flew KLM. We booked cruise last October and flights were booked through Emerald at basically the same time. I upgraded to Economy Plus on flights over to Europe. Flew economy on way back to states. Would recommend flying plus both ways.
@@pamelawooden6012 Thanks for info. We are debating Economy plus, I guess you are saying it is worth the cost to not be miserable in tiny seat. Did you guys stay extra days on either end. We are thinking about trip insurance did y’all consider it.

Very interesting vid Emma. We are going to do at least one river cruise in 2024 and will choose either Scenic or Emerald - same company but Emerald is the cheap version. Have you been on Scenic?

One question about the shower door: I'm a little bit wider and my concern would be to being able to close the door from the inside. Was it tight or can it be opened both sides?
Hey! It was okay for me but you do have to stand right in the corner to close the door. I'm sure it would be fine but maybe just not the most comfy for a few seconds. I always expected river ships to be small though. Thanks for commenting 😁👍🏼
Ship is fantastic. Room is more then adequate. Would love to spend 2 weeks on the danube/rhine with Emerald but my wife speak only french. We are from quebec. We will have to go with croisieurope to get all services and excursions in french.

Oo! I really don't think it makes much difference on this ship. On older ships maybe but this one is new and pretty quiet all over. I'd say go for it 😁
I see it suffers a bit like most ships with no outlet beside the bed.

Sometimes they have little laundries but it depends on the cruise line 😊❤️

Most ships do have Wi-Fi but in my experience the local 4g is usually better 😀❤️

Be absolutely sure that your voice and your face are displayed at all times. You obviously think this is more interesting than the good informative video about the ship.
It would be an odd youbube review without her voice and I like to see who is doing a video rather than just ghost hands and music, it makes it much more interesting.

@@JulieWallis1963 i nevwr said it's not clever right? I sais it's not a balcony. A clever way, yes. But on a balcony i sit directly outside, sun above me, with room for two chairs perhaps.
The cruise lines use the term French or Juliet Balcony which while not entirely accurate architecturally speaking does come close.😊
