I leaned back on my pillows and looked out our window, watching as we glided past deep forests interspersed with half-timbered houses. We sometimes passed so close I could almost reach out and snatch a blade of grass from the river’s bank.
We hiked, biked and walked for miles, touring impossibly scenic German villages. Yet I’ve never felt as relaxed on a trip as I did on this river cruise with Emerald Waterways, a lesser known cruise company in the US.
Did the Emeralds Waterway Danube voyage in 2019.....the best ever. Looking forward to our next tour.....already booked for 2023.
Glad to hear that they have increased the activities and wellness stuff. I REALLY enjoyed our two Emerald river cruises and didn’t need the other activities, but others more active than me would

Sadly, we had a cruise booked for October 4, 2019 thru the 19th, Budapest to Amsterdam, which we had to cancel with the passing of my mother-in-law. Then Covid 19. Now we are going in September 2022. I am back to watching videos so I will be "in the know" when we at last get to go! Thank you for getting me ready

Wish they can reduce the carbo type of food offered and not desserts that are much less sweet for passengers (most of them were already senior passengers)

Two cruises on emerald. I never found that button for the pool to make that swim stream 🤷♀️😂. There was one button but nothing happened..

Just the info I was looking for, thanks. I have a couple of questions... I tried to find this info on their website, but didn't see anything. Do you know if they offer pre and post cruise packages? Do they take care of airport transfers? I wish their website was better. Viking has a really nice one where you can "price and build" to see exactly what you get.

You should caution your older, perspective clients that they will have a challenge getting on and off the boats when they are stacked up together in port.
I’m in my 60’s and husband in his 70’s. We’ve done two RC with Emerald. No problem so far getting on and off - on ships parked next to each other
Is there a cruise company that serves good food and nice wine? I don't like eating in a cafeteria and I don't drink cheap wines.
Dinners are served to you on all the river cruise lines I've been on and the wines were very good. You can also purchase different wines if those served aren't to your taste. I have had excellent food on all the river cruises I have been on. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

She's not correct that river cruise ships don't have balconies. In fact, most of them do!

An large amount have French balconies or drop down balconies now to conserve indoor space..great for inclement weather
