  • Decided to put our new Ursa12K to the test and compare it to our Arri Amira in a studio and daylight setting. The test is not scientific by any means, it's purely to see how well the UMP12K holds up to these other camera systems we use regularly. Basically to get a feeling with how the sensor performs in different circumstances.
Our friend Ids Aalbers brought along his Kinefinity Mavo, which can be found in some of the shots. Since it uses a speedbooster the crop ratio and exposure is a bit different from the 2 other camera's.
I tried to get all camera's as close to the Arri rec709 color space as possible. The Ursa Mini Pro 12K has been set to Alexa Wide Gamut color space. The Arri and UMP12k match surprisingly well with each other! The UMP12K has some noise issues which can be easily resolved with some basic noise reduction (no noise reduction has been done in this video).
The UMP12k really holds it's own in these comparisons and proves to be great value already. The footage grades super nicely and feels like grading Arri footage.
