Mother of Everett 4-year-old found dead along I-5 in Pierce County arrested for murder

- The mother of the 4-year-old Everett boy who was found dead along Interstate 5 in Pierce County Thursday evening was arrested for murder Friday.
According to the Everett Police Department, 4-year-old Ariel Garcia’s mother, Janet Garcia, was arrested in Vancouver, Washington, for first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and first-degree assault of a child. Police said she was “a person of interest and her whereabouts were known early on in the investigation.”
The EPD said Janet Garcia was booked into the Snohomish County jail. Police said she was taken into custody by the Clark County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday for making "false and misleading statements" within hours of Ariel being reported missing.
Police said Ariel was last seen around 7 a.m. Wednesday in an apartment on the 4800 block of Vesper Drive. He was reported missing “under suspicious circumstances” by a relative around 4 p.m. Wednesday. The Washington State Patrol issued an Endangered Missing Person Advisory for Ariel Thursday evening.

I don't know the precise word for the psychological defect that makes everything a argument but I can attribute it to toxic masculinity. It is most common in bigger boys and girls of all sizes. Regardless of birth style there is only room for one woman's attitude per house considering Timothy's daughters were all set to walk the streets with broken noses and I bought my daughter a house because she wanted to be a teacher not a plumber like her mother was forcing on her. Women get all the feelings or support so I was destroyed once for not allowing my daughter to be used as a Ritalin guinea pig and when everyone was worried about my step sons penos size I was worried about his osgood-schlatter.

Exactly. Once an emergency petition is filed for custody of this child, the court MUST order CPS to immediately remove the child into safety until grandmother is granted custody AND/OR parent is detained and held by police until EVERYONE is satisfied that child is now in safe hands. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Why is that surprising to you as many times as this same thing has happened where there is a child in danger and they have been contacted over & over & over and do nothing or make excuses until the child is killed it has been happening for decades. CPS has a habit of going after minor offenders and treating the bad ones with kid gloves or doing nothing at all.

My heart hurts for this poor baby and the grandmother. When will the courts start listening?! Way too many children have already died by the hands of their “parents” bc the courts, judge, police, CPS don’t listen or don’t want to deal with it. Now another innocent life was taken when it could have easily been prevented.
The grandparents were granted custody, but she took off with the child a couple days later...
If I were the grandparents, I would have high-tailed it over to her place with police escort immediately, but that's just me. That woman would have gone ballistic either way, and maybe there was a date scheduled to retrieve him.

Why is people steady blaming CPS like yall know the procedure for an immediate placement. Just because it states an emergency doesn't mean skip steps and take action first off if you listen correctly it said THE GRANDMOTHER FILE for an immediate emergency guardianship it did not state she was granted that guardianship as the paperwork is being filed and going through the courts and sent over to cps and the sheriff office and all signature is apply and caseworker is appointed then they can remove the child it also stated that she ask for guardianship of the child due to the mother drug used and not properly taking care of the child which could mean not bathing or feeding the child as she should have been. Unfortunately, just like other children, the process wasn't fast enough with a few caseworkers dealing with 1000 cases. The paperwork file on Monday, her mother must have told her about it on Tuesday, and by Wednesday, she was on the run and took this baby life. Officers should be held accountable. The mother should have stated that her daughter is unstable and dangerous and on drugs, so cps and the courts can move fast, and the amber alert could have been issued on Tuesday or Wednesday. Now, people always look for someone else to blame like cps and the police and lawyers, and doctors and nurses and judges and firefighters. How about blaming the people around the child on an everyday base If I saw my grandchild in a bad way, Well his mama is just going to have to deal with me because I'm snatching him out of the home. What is she going to do? Call the police? She is on drugs with no money and stability. I'm sure I'll win that. Sisters and brothers? Where are they at in their nephew life? Couldn't have been my relative "period.
You can remove a child yourself and call it in yourself and let officers and cps know what u have witnessed. Take pictures and videos to support what you are saying and seeing.
Everyone claimed the government ain't ish. Okay, that's fair, but the government is your community. The neighbors can step in the teachers' can step in to aid in saving a child. I was a foster child from the age 6 to 17 off and on in my mother and father custody. My caseworker did the best he could with a stack of other cases as well. He even was living in his car while trying to help us. His wife cheated on him, and he was left with no home, but every time he saw me and my siblings, we felt cared for by him. This is a sad loss because baby Everett is four forever, and he didn't deserve for the one woman who was supposed to love and protect him to take his life away, and I am deeply saddened by this tragedy. I wish the grandmother had taken him and kept him in her home regardless of what mom felt. Drugs make people do crazy things. My mother was on drugs, and at the age of 8, she put a knife to my throat, thinking I stole her drugs. Turning 10, I got a snapple bottle made out of glass thrown at my face, busted my lip open, and had me dizzy for about ten minutes. My sister had it worse. While the boys were cherished. Cps step in many times. However, my mother would get clean, and the judge would ask us who we want to live with if both parents are present and we would be released into that parents custody and our mother would go right back into temptation

So the State police didn't want to issue any type of alert because it didn't meet Amber alert criteria? Any type of alert for the cR or for this child would have made people aware to look for him or the car! State police could have done a better job with alerting the public
To be honest at this point the way much of the Northwest is I know it’s the lack of sunshine.
