Beautiful. The Swan is the song I want to play for my grandchildren, who are now old enough to appreciate it. Plus, our last name is Swan. As an older adult returning to cello and lessons, the vibrato and dynamics are still a challenge. Your lesson is so helpful, as are all your tutorials. Thank you.
It's nice to see how you do the fingerings! I lost the music I learned this from when I was a teenager, and recently started playing it again because my pianist brother and I wanted to play something together for fun.
Cello ‘yoga’ breathing! 🤗 I find myself holding my breath A LOT! 😕 And My ‘cello face’ ends up being a cross between ‘grumpy cat’ and and absolutely terrified! 😝 Very instructive video. Thx!
The Swan is such a beautiful expressive cello piece of music! Your approach is so helpful! It is is so so challenging! Like a ballerina doing bourses. Thank you for your inspiration and help to play this beautiful piece! I liked the 180,000 cello best! The C string was a rich soft tone and the rest so full in tone!
Thank you very much!!! For some reason, my teacher doesnt want to tecah me "the swan" .... He says I am not ready... But I am 53 and I want to play it... Even if I dont do it perfect ( I need to)... Your kiss at the end of the video got right to my lips! Took me to the moon!!! :)
Breathing is good. I try to remember to breathe when I'm practicing; it's amazing how your body automatically forfeits breathing when concentrating on learning the cello....WHY!? 😩😉
Hi darling wendy. I love your motivational videos towards learning the masterpiece instrument. I have request,😊😊 could you please record a video, teaching "game of thrones " techniques and challenges? It's really stunning and accompanying your talent would be more. Thanks 😍😍😍😍😍😍
Where did you get the sheet music from? I asked my teacher if he could print this sheet music out for me and he says he still hasn't found a version for cello yet :( Does the one you got cost money, although i want a free version so he doesn't have to pay.
constant vibrato makes it boring .... I don't think ANY song should have constant vibrato.... I know one thing.... I never hear it on any piano versions of this... 😛

I finally know why I couldn’t play the violin way back in school; I wasn’t breathing because I wanted to concentrate so much. You are a good teacher.

good luck! I think that's beautiful. I started cello in january and my dad just started viola. vibrato is the trickiest part for me too.
This whole song is about the phrasing!!! I am swaying with you as you are teaching!
I'm no cellist but watching you teach cello makes me go back to music school and change instrument. We composers should watch more videos like yours.
