May I make a quick suggestion? Tusq nuts are nice...but in 35 years of playing, and 15 high end guitars in the stead , I have yet to play a guitar that intonates like my quartet of Ernie Ball Music Man fiddles. A vintage JP6, JP6 BFR, and twin JP6 & JP7 20th Anniversary flawlessness. Besides being built to an absolutely ludicrous level of perfection, I firmly believe that 80% of it is .001" precision and undeniably some of the best fretwork and playability in the game...but that last 20% of absolute flawless intonation in every key regardless if it's an A minor starting on the open A or a C major starting on the 17th fret G string...anyway, my tip: Go to the Music Man shop, and get yourself a patented Ernie Ball Music Man Compensated Nut...they are liquid black, almost like deep as it gets glossy piano lacquer. Keith Merrow has convinced Schecter to put them on all his signature guitars...except for the Floyd models, obviously...which I have many. I love Floyds, especially Schaller Floyds from Germans. That being said, I think EBMM JP bridges with Schaller locking tuners and that compensated nut completely blows any Floyd out of the water...as long as you're using the locking tuners correctly, and you lube the nut slot and the saddles with Big Bend's Nut Sauce...or my homemade version that is ultra fine graphite powder w/ molybdenum grease (dry) suspended in 100% pure Vaseline or KY Jelly, and applied with a blunt tipped syringe. One last suggestion to give those DiMarzios a little kick in the nuts...a bunch of the Music Man guitars have a 0-20dB push/push gain boost on the volume pot. IT'S INCREDIBLE!!!!!! EMG makes their "Afterburner" boost, but it's $100 after everything...BoffinFX makes one that is 500k and almost identical to the one EBMM uses in the JP6/JP7 20th Anniversary, JP13, JP15, JP16, every Majesty, Luke, Valentine, Cutlass, and probably a bunch more...because it's that freaking good. I had a 2018 JP6 BFR that did a lot of sitting because it was missing the boost. And push/push SMOKES push/pull....the BoffinFX 500k comes in both push and pull variants, and is less than half of the EMG Afterburner. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!
@@rickfeith6372 amazing suggestions from someone clearly with lots of guitar experience! The thing I love about this project is I know I can upgrade parts anytime I want. I will for sure try and utilize some of those ideas for the build! Thanks for watching!
@@WeBuildStuff Might as well go big!! I can't say enough about how awesome a perfectly intonated guitar is...magic...especially with SS frets. And the boost is something that I use ALL THE TIME....building up a solo, adding some breakup, driving the front of an amp, volume boost..it does it all. I like to mainly use it for a little extra gain. I'm a tone junkie. Start a solo with the guitar volume on 4 or so....roll it up with each phrase until its dimed...flip to the bridge pickup and hit play the next phrase or two and then hit the boost and kick it into the climax. Dynamics 101 baby....lol HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. it will also tighten up a high gain amp. The EBMM Compensated Nuts are only like 10 bucks too....nice
Looking forward to this build! Super impressed!
Thanks for watching, let's do this!
I am excited see the progress. Cheers from a German Guitar Nerd in China.
@@SaschaReinsch thanks! Hope you enjoy the series

Hey, just for clarification: Are those Compensated Nuts similar to the legendary Buzz Feiten Approach?
@@SaschaReinsch you don't have to tune differently....whatever the hell is happening, it works lovely, and looks beautiful
