This is the 5th video I watch about this phone and so far no one has been able to give a decent review of it. Nobody is gonna buy this phone to surf the internet, watch videos, take amazing pics, play games etc etc. There are two kinds of people who would buy this: 1. Those who want a back-up phone for whatever reason, 2. Those who just dont use the typical smartphone features. So stop reviewing this the same way you d review a smartphone!!! How about you tell about about the cell reception, how easy is to navigate the contact list, the call sounds quality, the microphone quality, the speaker quality etc etc...
Same thought. Do not review a feature phone with a smartphone mentality. The evolution of the mobile phone not only changes the technology, it also change our life style. In order to review this Nokia phone, you need to change your habit too. Eventually, you will find out that you have more time to do other things.
True that. They are so young to know about what this phone is for. Reviewing this phone like they review smartphones. Who can give you three days of battery backup? Call clarity? Keypad? Nokia does! ❤️❤️
I just bought one to replace my Samsung flip phone. T-Mobile practically refused to sell me a cheap phone and when I started to walk out the door they "found" one in the back room. But.. they wanted payments and their out the door price was about $100. Target had one for $50 but the clerk couldn't tell me if my SIM would fit. Best Buy had the 3310 in only one store in the Fresno/Clovis area for $60 but the Clovis store didn't have it on display and she could only confirm the price upon ringing it up. They told me my SIM would fit but it didn't. Since it was Memorial Day I was desperate to cut down my SIM but I waited. Next day T-Mobile charged me $25 for a mini SIM which brought the price up to about $90. At least I can buy a spare and swap SIMs now. I still haven't figured out how to use zero on the T-9 or to add an unusually spelled word.. system is a bit different.. but I'm learning.
haha yeah, so rebellious, to buy a cellphone made from slave labor to "give the finger" to social media when you can just delete your social media profiles and delete the app on the phone you have now.
Another reason to give this to a kid is that is it safer. No snapchat or anything that predators might contact them on. Also, having a minimalistic phone can be a nice way of getting a digital detox without losing contact with the world entirely.
Why to a kid tho? If your child wants a phone then give them a kindle tablet. I know it's not a phone but it's cheap ($50), and best used with Amazon prime. The 3310 is best used by adults that only uses their phone for testing and calling
your reply boggles the mind. the point is so "kids" (i wouldnt give my kid a phone til they were 15, so a teen) dont have access to the bullshit they do these days. Also, its a freakin tablet. IDK how big that tablet is, but my GUESS would be you can't just put it in your pocket. Does this tablet make phone calls or texts? HOW DO YOU BRING UP GETTING A TABLET as a better option to a phone that does exactly what a freakin phone should do, make calls. Its a great idea for younger people.. a kid can call. Thats all they need.
RobinCoffins Why wouldn’t you give a phone to your kid until he was 15? What if he needs to call friends? You can’t imprison him so he will not always be at home. You gonna call him to come home and eat dinner if he is away? Call and ask where he is? Ask him stuff If he is away? What if something important happens you need to call him? He gets into an accident or needs to call 911? I know alot more situations where a phone is very useful. Alot of reasons to give a kid under 15 a phone.

Mobiles have become so universal because of what is called "social contagion". One person has something and the next person feels they "must have it" too. Fortunately for me I'm self disciplined enough to be immune to social contagion - I don't use a mobile. And from observing all the addicts around me, I'm sure glad I don't.
The way to "get a real life" is to ditch ALL mobile phones. EVERYONE coped easily without them before they were invented in 1987. People have been brainwashed into believing they "can't live" without their gadgets. Bullshit.
@@uptiltisbroken5346 Yes, but why have the temptation near you when you get home ? Look, all you need is what we ALL used to have - a landline and an answering machine. That's what I use, and I get by perfectly well.

The interesting thing is that the feature phones market share has been growing in the last years... It's always good to have a feature phone to disconnect from the Internet once in a while.
Trouble is they're actually more expensive than cheap android slabs. I have a burner phone that just sits in my bag and get's used basically for almost any time I ever need to give my mobile number out. It's a ZTE no name phone that I bought in the supermarket for 19 aussie bucks lol.
James Oren - but this thing is more durable and has a much better battery life than those phones. I am 15 and have been using this for more than 6 months. It is great.

I grew up with 3310. It was very durable and saved me in alot of situations because of its long battery at that time. Looking forward to trying the new 3310 just for calls. I'll set use my Samsung for smartphone phone functions though.
This sounds great actually... I have a laptop and a tab, and as a result I never need to use my phone for anything other than calling and the occasional sms(text).
Hey I just trashed my phone for years and years, a 6510 and I am not able to write SMS as fast on my new Xiaomi Redmi X4! To the younger generations, a smartphone is really a artificially created need - you'll find social life is much easier without one :)
That was my first phone. Was great all the modifications you could do to customize it and make it your own, they were huge at the time! Ohhh the good old days. Just got my Galaxy S8 today its amazing how far we've come ;)
Jeff Zhang My parents don't. I have bought them both iPhones and android phones in the past and they prefer older phones that they are familiar with. Not to mention they don't need or want any of the features that a smartphone might be able to give them. So maybe try not to generalize something that applies to your parents as something that applies to all the parents in the world. It makes you look ignorant :). Nonetheless, thank you for the advice, but I think I know my parents better than a random stranger on the internet 😉.
Omg I remember the original version of this was my first phone and I loved it. I was working in a newspaper at the time and me and other other office girls would swapz the covers around. I remember them being jealous because I wouldn’t swap my purple flower back cover with anyone 🤣
I got my first phone not long after the OG 3310 came out and I can tell you that this new version is meant to be nostalgic but it's still way cooler and more advanced than the original experience. It's thinner and the screen is bigger and in color (which you already know) but it doesn't stop there. Phones back then didn't have any kind of web browsing capabilities, cameras (especially with flash), videos, music storage or radio, app stores (because what were apps?) social media obviously didn't exist at all, the menu is different, only some phones had texting capabilities and call logs, and this phone responds more quickly. We've gotten really used to the idea of phones being able to do everything when just fifteen years ago, phones were nothing but phones that told time. The battery life was amaaaaazing though. I've seen a couple of videos saying this phone is a waste of time because it's not capable of downloading a zillion apps, but I think I'll trade in my iPhone for this and manage just fine.
I'm thinking of buying for nostalgia's sake. I never had this phone, but I was blazing fast on the one that I had at that time. Back when I got my first cell phone it was unusual to have a camera at all. Love your review and seeing someone who is interested in experiencing something old school and sooo cool at the time. Super great as a backup or emergency phone.
Growing up without them means that you can memorize directions from a paper map before leaving for your destination and look at the trees as you walk instead of colliding with drone consumers whilst staring at your screen like a brainless automaton en route. Good luck having children, they'll need Siri to wipe their asses from space.
this can do more than my first phone 😂 mine didn't have a camera or even a music player. I'm one year older than you. I also had to buy my first smartphone after saving for at least a year at age 14.
lol you kids are so funny when talking about old phones, I guess I was like this with some old tech such as old tape players. And actually I type faster on a numeric phone keyboard than on a touchscreen because there you feel the keyboard.
Ah the one thing kids now will never know - being able to text in class or meetings super stealthy because you don't need to see the phone - you can feel the buttons and know how many taps each letter is lol. Unfortunately if they replied, the vibrate function of a 90's phone was louder than it's ringer, but you can't have everything
totally agree with you, kids don't understand the feel of the first Nokia 3310. The camera is decent for what a person is paying, don't understand why people don't get that.
Nokia should have just gone all out on this phone with a 3.5kMh battery, 20MP camera with 4K recording and at least a 1080p-maybe 720p-screen. Keep the price though.
I had a short trip back to China one week ago. The only thing I bought back is a Nokia 3310 2017 version, it turns out that the one I bought was a FAKE one. It really breaks my heart...
I was 22 years old when 3310 first came out and wished it had a camera that good on it... I don't like today cell phone plans its pretty ridiculous what they charge I use WiFi more than 3 or 4g service at a good price plan this phone would be great sometimes I don't want to take my smartphone where im going but still need a phone this make that possible now
I bought this phone for my husband as I keep losing him in the shopping centre. I just needed something that he could tell me where he was so that we could find each other. I had this phone many, many years ago and it was a great little phone.
I loved my 3210/3310/3410 phones in the 90s and early 00s! Loved being able to text without looking at my screen. I could literally write an essay while watching tv or walking around shopping. Reminds me of simpler times lol. When did I get so old?!
I felt that way, until I reminded myself of the not so great things - namely the cost of owning them. I don't remember my 3310 as I didn't have it that long before passing it off to my mum, to get my first ever phone contract (a razr!) My 3210 was my second phone and the cost was huge. Texts were 15 cents each and if you called another mobile, it was about 50 cents per minute and you paid that first 50 cents even if you just left a "Yo call me back" on someone's voicemail. Oh and checking your voicemail was 20 cents per minute lol. If these don't sound much, my part time job used to net me about 35 bucks a week, so making a top up last two weeks was crucial! At one point my voicemail message was "Hi, you've reached James, I don't have voicemail, send a text"
Thanks for not making fun of us old folks. I used to text in my pocket. I didn't need to see the phone to write . I love your review and the phone and now I want one again. Thanks for the respectful review
ahahahhahaahahah "Has a 16MB of internal storage with an option to upgrade to 32 using extermal card" LOL From that sentence you would think it's upgradable to 32MB, and not 32GB
the smartphones nowadays can't even survive a feather...let alone when they get wet, dirty or fall ..or even bend while in your pocket..and those even cost over a tenfold of this one! ;-)
I have this phone. I personally think this thing is more rigid than the original one. I have played baseball with it. I throw it around when i am angry. Its got some scratches but 0 damage
I had the first generation of Nokia 3310 and after i had got Nokia 3230 best phone ever battery lasted week before you recharge! You are lucky to have one
Me too I had just enough money to buy the 3210 but 3310 was better and you weren't cool if you 'only' had the 3210 lol.. I'm 31 now. Considering the older 3G model because it doesn't have WIFI (I don't want it)
The fact that this is only a 2G phone is a big issue. Lots of carriers are beginning to shut down their 2G networks. There were 3G non-smart phones beginning in the mid 2000s, so why Nokia didn't make this at least a 3G phone blows my mind.
Even an old w995 can beat it. Needs more better or bigger screen to play nice RUclips at least like the Xperia X10 mini level and that's pushing the limit on screen size already
I was 33 when that phone came out. I had the original model....and yes it was a nearly indestructible phone. I bought the 2017 just for fun. Just wish my smartphones could have the battery life of the 3310.
So you talk about your history of phones for ages, give basic specs, and then say you couldn't actually use the features of the phone because of region? Cheers for wasting my time!
Tamish Kumar First of all, when I said Asian, I meant Generalized Asian, which means the standard/typical, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese; which are all pale in skin color as compared to south Asians darker complexion (Malaysian & Indonesian). I went from generalizing to specifying. Second of all, I'm pretty sure you didn't pay attention in vocabulary class since you had to edit what you initially wrote and didn't understand what I had written in basic English.
I have been a Nokia consumer for years..have all the N series....and sirocco...however when Lumia was introduced I lost all interest and went over to Samsung..I have the S7 EDGE, S8+....This, however is a really great as a back up phone...will buy it next week. Good one ....Time to make a come back...Nokia. A great video mate.
I was in high school when this phone came out. The first nokia that I got was the 3210 😉. My aunt still uses an original 3310 to this day and I was so envious I had to order this 2017 version myself.
You missed the main reason you might want this phone. This phone will cut down on your screen time and allow you to actually live "real" life.

Parents like smart phones, iPhone & Galaxy. It's time for you as a child to teach them rather than buying them a shit Nokia.
Nonetheless, thank you for the advice, but I think I know my parents better than a random stranger on the internet 😉.
check nokia 216 man. gonna buy it for my granny comparing the 216 to this. this looks like balls. and the 216 is cheaper
fox 797 are u mad ?
In 2000 I was 18 and just blown away by the introduction of the new technology which was txt messaging.
Omg I remember the original version of this was my first phone and I loved it. I was working in a newspaper at the time and me and other other office girls would swapz the covers around. I remember them being jealous because I wouldn’t swap my purple flower back cover with anyone 🤣
Just bought it today. I am charging it for 20 minutes and it is almost full. What a great backup phone! I was 19 when it first came up.
I wanna know.. how good the sound quality when you listen to music???
I've seen a couple of videos saying this phone is a waste of time because it's not capable of downloading a zillion apps, but I think I'll trade in my iPhone for this and manage just fine.
i bought the nokia 216 instead, i am done with the 5" huge smartphones trend
I'm thinking of buying for nostalgia's sake. I never had this phone, but I was blazing fast on the one that I had at that time. Back when I got my first cell phone it was unusual to have a camera at all. Love your review and seeing someone who is interested in experiencing something old school and sooo cool at the time. Super great as a backup or emergency phone.
Growing up without them means that you can memorize directions from a paper map before leaving for your destination and look at the trees as you walk instead of colliding with drone consumers whilst staring at your screen like a brainless automaton en route. Good luck having children, they'll need Siri to wipe their asses from space.
this was my frist phone 3310 Will always have a special place in my heart ❤️
this can do more than my first phone 😂 mine didn't have a camera or even a music player.
I'm one year older than you. I also had to buy my first smartphone after saving for at least a year at age 14.
Back to basics!! I miss these phones
Not one phone in 2000 was even close to what this one is
That’s kind awesome that they are bringing a classic back I had one of those in college and original of course
I think its time for another Room/Setup tour!! wait that rooms got messy!
hehe soon fam, soon.
Yes .She is back
nice vintage phone
bringing back the classics
I had an original 3310. it was hammer
3310 was my first phone and still remains my favorite to this day. I was around 12 when I got it.
Apart from the look of it, this is nothing like the original 3310
I'm the same age and I played on my dad's Nokia for years. Also we had a Nokia TV at the time too :D
lol you kids are so funny when talking about old phones, I guess I was like this with some old tech such as old tape players.
I was born in the mid-2000s and texted seven characters using a 1990s Samsung.
totally agree with you, kids don't understand the feel of the first Nokia 3310. The camera is decent for what a person is paying, don't understand why people don't get that.
@@jamesoren7238 ... i can remenber where the letters are in my touch screen...
I am currently using a ZTE F102, and I have not used a smart phone for a week. I am really enjoying it. :)
it's been a long time now .
I was 10 years old when this was released !
NOKIA 3310
Nokia should have just gone all out on this phone with a 3.5kMh battery, 20MP camera with 4K recording and at least a 1080p-maybe 720p-screen. Keep the price though.
I had a short trip back to China one week ago. The only thing I bought back is a Nokia 3310 2017 version, it turns out that the one I bought was a FAKE one. It really breaks my heart...
Such a fun nostalgic phone....hope the winner is loving it!!!
I’m going to upgrade from my iPhone X
I'm not a weeb no thx u cant . U cant because u cant afford an iphone x
@@cuteussoverlah6506 :o
FaPAtroN 3000 :O
=0
I’m selling my iPhone X and get this one lol
It’s finally back!!!
I was 22 years old when 3310 first came out and wished it had a camera that good on it... I don't like today cell phone plans its pretty ridiculous what they charge I use WiFi more than 3 or 4g service at a good price plan this phone would be great sometimes I don't want to take my smartphone where im going but still need a phone this make that possible now
chad dalac I was 22 as well this was a reliable phone
The legend is back!!!
I bought this phone for my husband as I keep losing him in the shopping centre. I just needed something that he could tell me where he was so that we could find each other. I had this phone many, many years ago and it was a great little phone.
If you put go to 4:20 you'll see that the year is 2015

I loved my 3210/3310/3410 phones in the 90s and early 00s! Loved being able to text without looking at my screen. I could literally write an essay while watching tv or walking around shopping. Reminds me of simpler times lol. When did I get so old?!
This is so nostalgic lol
I felt that way, until I reminded myself of the not so great things - namely the cost of owning them. I don't remember my 3310 as I didn't have it that long before passing it off to my mum, to get my first ever phone contract (a razr!)
My 3210 was my second phone and the cost was huge.
I need one of these phones! Justin I'll be paciant
throwback.. the legend nokia
ahahahhahaahahah
"Has a 16MB of internal storage with an option to upgrade to 32 using extermal card"
LOL
From that sentence you would think it's upgradable to 32MB, and not 32GB
Your pic is your feeling
I'm actually your age but I grew up with a phone like this in around 2007 or so, so I'm pretty much used to the keyboard. You brought back memories.
It looks good but can it survive a 5 ton truck 🤔🤔😂
the smartphones nowadays can't even survive a feather...let alone when they get wet, dirty or fall ..or even bend while in your pocket..and those even cost over a tenfold of this one! ;-)
I have this phone. I personally think this thing is more rigid than the original one. I have played baseball with it. I throw it around when i am angry. Its got some scratches but 0 damage
@@hackman6486 i saw a vid when they dropped original and new from 1000 meters. Old one's really good it survived and new didn't.
I had the first generation of Nokia 3310 and after i had got Nokia 3230 best phone ever battery lasted week before you recharge! You are lucky to have one
I was 17/18 when the original 3310 was released and it was too high spec for me and out of my price range at the time!
Me too I had just enough money to buy the 3210 but 3310 was better and you weren't cool if you 'only' had the 3210 lol.. I'm 31 now. Considering the older 3G model because it doesn't have WIFI (I don't want it)
Homaigoat, the original came out when you were 3yrs old, make me feel ancient now :()
I still have the original one, it was my first phone now it's my back up phone lol.
RandomGeordieGirl i still have mine from when i was 7 lol had it on the other day still works.
Hi Justin. I have my Nokia 3310 during my late teen. That phone is awesome & just like you were saying the battery really good.
Was in my final year of High School when 3310 came out. I save enough to get 3315 for myself when it first came out. Wow... I'm old...
does it have call recording and text blocking options?
You can record calls, not sure about the other one
i was about 22 or 23 when this phone first came out i had the original and i'm now seriously considering going back to it.
The fact that this is only a 2G phone is a big issue. Lots of carriers are beginning to shut down their 2G networks. There were 3G non-smart phones beginning in the mid 2000s, so why Nokia didn't make this at least a 3G phone blows my mind.
This version is a 3G phone.....
Yea I have this phone it’s works on 3g
a 4g is otw but aint gonna be economical as in HMD price bracket u can get a cheap droid or a z2 tizen
Well, even 3G networks are on the list of being slashed in the next few years to freeup bandwidth for 4G and eventual 5G deployments.
Do you know vkworld Z3310? Can it compete with Nokia 3310?
I was just 12 years when the 3310 came out and I still own it to this very day and I still have the original box the phone came in
Wow nice I want that
Cant believe that this is really back! Looking forward to getting one
So you talk about your history of phones for ages, give basic specs, and then say you couldn't actually use the features of the phone because of region? Cheers for wasting my time!
Kyle Jones it's a chinese in canada
I love that he’s going into the specs of the screen etc.
Is it just me or did Justin get tan?
he goes outside sometimes
Maybe a bit haha, I just got back from a cottage trip last week.
Will Aaronson Yes, he went from Asian to Malaysian
Tamish Kumar First of all, when I said Asian, I meant Generalized Asian, which means the standard/typical, Chinese, Korean, and Japanese; which are all pale in skin color as compared to south Asians darker complexion (Malaysian & Indonesian). I went from generalizing to specifying. Second of all, I'm pretty sure you didn't pay attention in vocabulary class since you had to edit what you initially wrote and didn't understand what I had written in basic English.
Beautiful yellow 💛💛💛
You are my favorite channel and person
Nokia is the best.
Jenny Stjärnfeldt this is not actually nokia, that nokia you're talking is dead :)
I was19 when this phone came out originally.... I had one. It lived up to its legends
I was born 2000 and I still experienced the old version ... it was lit ... that snake game was childhood memories
so cute and very iconic phone. I like the matte blue
God I feel old, we could type 20 words a minute with this back in the day. Look at that kid clicking it like a smartphone.
Perfect gift for my mom :)
Justin Tse was born in 1997, making him 20. His first iPhone was the iPhone 4 in sophomore year in high school.
I was in high school when this phone came out. The first nokia that I got was the 3210 😉. My aunt still uses an original 3310 to this day and I was so envious I had to order this 2017 version myself.
I have one of these phones as an everyday use and the camera is really good and it is not terrible
