I love the video. The only thing I would change is the website. Even if you do not develop it, create one as a placeholder. While rare(r) I have seen complaints about people copying social media pages and registering websites to sell to the business owner.
I often struggle from analysis paralysis. I appreciate this video very much. I notoriously am trying to find "that perfect project"...I just need to get out there and start building...now if I could just overcome the cost of materials lol
5:20 The Pareto Principle in business refers to the way 80 percent of a given business's profit typically comes from a mere 20 percent of its clientele. Business owners who subscribe to the 80/20 rule know the best way to maximize results is to focus the most marketing effort on that top 20 percent
You made a lot of great points in this video. When starting a business with no experience I found it very easy to get laser focused on small details that while important, should have been much further down my list of priorities.
Andy - Thanks for the good advice. These are some of business side issues that I need to focus on (especially the social media aspect) that I haven't done before. As a DIY guy and engineer, I build for myself. So a new learning begins for me and your input about the basics has been super helpful. So much to think about!
For years I’ve been saying I want to get a CNC, laser engraving business/side hustle. I’ve really enjoyed your videos over the last few days and learning what this idea may look like. Thanks Andy.
Andy, I really appreciate your insight and these 10 strategies to grow your business. Niche down is definitely #1. If I had to add #11 it would be to partner with a fellow community member that exposes your potential customers to your product. A coffee shop, auto repair lobby, dentist office, preschool, restaurant etc. Curating an environment where people get to touch your product in person and feel the quality is powerful.
I agree with making ideas and trying to sell them after the fact. Normally I just make a random idea because I want to, then end up selling five of them. Great video!
That's great advice Andy! I would add the automation of time-consuming tasks, such as email follow-up, sending invoices, etc. With the tools available today, anyone can automate business processes very easily, freeing up time to focus on the core business.
Great sharing! Thanks for all your videos, your videos are in my top five places to get ideas and learn! I would suggest, I (and probably others) would love to know more thoughts on the use of social media as a means of getting your work better known. Any chance you might want to expand on that concept?
Hey Andy I am using a compression bit on baltic birch and get a lot of tear out. I also know I am using a cheap bit because being new did not want to destroy an expensive one. Can you suggest a good bit that will not tear out tks

I do it too. But when you realize you're doing it, just go for it!

I love when I tell people that I am a woodworker and they just assume I can just make anything...........I just make flags.
