You obviously appreciate VoicePlay’s ability to bridge songs so you will love their Queen in 5 minutes, and have your kids join you in watching The Little Mermaid Medley.

As an old lady, I recognized all of those first songs from my teen years. I had a son who was glued to boy bands during his teen years so I recognized all of those and my neighbor’s grandson is a big BTS fan so I actually recognized that one.
Except for the first songs I could not put the band’s name to the song, but I did recognize every one of them which I think is pretty impressive for an old lady. By the way, during the BTS section, Eli was actually singing in Korean as a nod to the original band. He spent some time in Asia in a couple of rock bands and apparently picked up some of the languages.
When I’m in a bad mood or just feeling down, I come back and open up my playlist called “cheer me up”. And this is number one. I cannot watch this without a big grin on my face by the time I’m done. It never fails to cheer me up. I’d say it did the same thing for you even though you have four kids at home. 😂
There is a lot to unpack in this. Besides the incredible transitions and the great music, pay attention to Layne . He is the class clown of the bunch.
And it took me several viewings before I realized that during Pop they were all playing with things that popped : bubble wrap, bubbles, bubble gum and finished off with cans of soda pop. I also love the costume choices. Some of those outfits that they wore during the 90s boy band section could’ve come out of my son’s closet.

Loved this one dude! It was just so cleverly made, the transitions were seamless, and the song choices were stellar! I had so much fun watching your reaction as always, your energy gives me life

They did this in their live shows, without the costume changes and a little less choreography. It wasn't always the same songs, either, Geoff swapped them out from time to time. You're lucky you got one of your three favorites. I'm very old, I'd love to see them do this again with songs from the 50's and 60's. The visual transition to the Back Street Boys was amazing.

I hope they have a wonderful break! Don’t worry about us. Enjoy the time. 💛💛
I’m glad you picked this one! You really get to see the guys’ humor. This is a fun one for sure. If you love Disney they are the group for you! So many to choose from! 💛💛

No need to apologize! I hope most people understand you also have a life outside of RUclips land ❤ Isn’t this one great? I love their commitment to the choreography. Sorry they didn’t get all of your songs but it took them 6 months to make this one as it was 😂 They did include Pop by N Sync!

In addition to the 5 Minutes of Boy Bands and Queen, they also do ACA Top Ten videos: Disney Heroes, Villains, Sidekicks, Video Games, Movie Themes ft Rob Ludquist (my favorite), Sitcoms, Broadway, Hits of 2019, 80's Cartoon Themes, Summer Hits 2015, Old School Rap, Bro Country ft Chris Rupp.

And most ACA are done live, which is so impressive.

I love this video so much. I think they left out Menudo and The Monkees (the original pre-fabricated band!) though. Also, the guy who hands Earl a sandwich is Rek, who they talk about at the end of the Halo video. Oh and one little tip...there's a good chance you'll miss something if you look away the screen for more than a second. Just FYI. Like you missed a good transition here, into the Backstreet Boys. But I guess it gives you something new for when you watch it again!

I Want You Back which they started (just a little bit before going to the Jackson 5 song with the same name) and ended with, and Pop are both NSYNC. I think that's the only group that was in there twice, actually. I would agree that Pop wasn't the most obvious choice for them, but you have to admit they had fun with it 🤣

Great reaction dude! I actually never did listen to these bands in the 90s (metal girl all the way) but I love these now. Maybe just because it's voiceplay singing em though 😂. Can't wait to see your next VP reactions.

Your excitement over this was infectious! Thanks so much. This is one of my fav make-me-happy-pick-me-up videos of all time (also love their Mr. Blue Sky version--one of my all time fav songs and covers). Thanks for taking us along on your VP journey. And yes, they have a bunch of Disney!!

That's the problem with these medleys... There are so many options that could have been chosen for each of the boy bands. Only picking one song from each band must have been almost impossible, so they went with what fit the rhythm of the medley rather than the "best known"

Disney? Well then you need to check out Pattycake Productions. All of their videos are Disney related with extremely talented actors and actresses. All videos are original to them. They do everything themselves except makeup and audio mixing.
Owned by Layne Stein, beatboxer of Voiceplay and Tony Wakim, former baritone of Voiceplay.
Villains Haunted Mansion, Will Of Oz, Bump In The Night and Villains Lair series are my favorites but all are fantastic.
All the characters look exactly and sound like who they portray.
They just released season 2 episode 5 of Villains Lair in January and are working on episode 6.
They're last video before Villains Lair is Ariel Evolution/Fish Out of Water.

Most of the make up is done by Rick Underwood and Renette (I can’t remember her last name) who contract out to PattyCake Productions . I know that they used an outside agency for Bump in the Night simply because they had 20-30 sets of make up to do during Covid so had lots of little make up tents . But most of the time it is Rick with help from Renette. They are generally who does the more elaborate makeup for VoicePlay and Geoff as well. (You probably already know that, but others may read the comments so I thought I would elaborate.)

      Good idea.
Rennette's last name is Feren. Usually it's just Rick Underwood but if there's a lot of very intricate makeup then Rennette helps out. Like In The Hall of The Mountain King where they were dressed as trolls. It took 2 hours to get each of their makeups done it was so much to do.

Sorry you didn't get the songs you were looking for. While most of the bands were only represented by a single song (in order to cover as many groups as possible), according to the list in the description box NSYNC actually had 2 songs in the mix - I Want You Back (the very first song) and POP at 4:03. I'm sure that with a number of groups, trying to pick a representative song meant choosing between a number of songs that might be somebody's favorites, as well as many of the reasons you mentioned.
Given my age and the fact that I never followed any boy bands, I actually had heard all but 1 of the songs in the medley, so I thought that was doing a pretty good job of picking songs that got a lot of airplay.

I will say this Kevin, I have been watching you for a while on TikTok for your wrestling stuff, and now this pops up on my RUclips feed. So as a permanent resident of the Voiceplay rabbit hole, I welcome you, and let you know, you now have a lifelong sub and watcher. To paraphrase Field of Dreams, if you watch it, we will come. There is not a bad song in the library of Voiceplay, so basically the ratings for them go from great to angelic. Welcome, and enjoy the ride.

It's nice to hear a man say they listened to boy bands instead of deny recognizing most of the songs. I've heard so much avoidance on this VP video, like they have to maintain an actual man card.

I find it odd that The Right Stuff wasn't one of your three. I feel like that song and I Want it That Way were more popular than all other 90s/2000s boy-band songs combined. The choice I thought was questionable, was Fake Love, which isn't one of the better-known BTS songs. Dynamite would've made more sense to include, IMO. But of course that's a nitpick.
