Seeing Adam fanboying makes me love this even more. I've never had interest in cosplay, but seeing his respect and admiration towards it has showed me to look more into it.
I met Regan at Supanova in Perth earlier this year and recieved a massive compliment when she said I had one of the best costumes there 😁 Her own outfit was amazing of course.
I was what you would call, "A Problem Child", and to keep me busy and out of my mom's hair, she taught me all these techniques on sewing and embroidery. I think I'm seeing in this video a way to put ALL of that to good use! Great seeing such enthusiasm in young people! As usual, Love the video!
That Korean MMO costume is the most impressive cosplay I’ve ever seen! The paint job is absolutely insane. The detail and material variations are mind blowing.
So much enthusiasm and excitement that comes from people who dress up, it’s literally like a new person.....put on a mask and become whoever you want but, what you wear can also do the job...awesomely awesome 👍🏼😊
There are sooo many ways to make lace. I do knit and crochet, but there's also tatting and bobbin lace. You'll have to decide which one you want to try. There are so many resources on the internet for all of them.
Wow, didn't expect to see a random Tree of Savior cosplay! Also of note, the game is available to play in the US (and Europe) on Steam (and maybe through the game's publishers site) :D
Adam: see you next year. Narrator: little did they know there would not be a next year. A next con, yes, but most of the next year was to be cancelled.
It always cool to learn old crafts & arts to keep them alive... that’s why I do chainmaille & tinker with blacksmithing. I want to learn to weave sweetgrass baskets
1/ Can Regan actually lift her arms with those shoulder things? 2/ Those shoulder things look quite solid -- how hard is it to get it on/off? I'm thinking like your arm would need to make a sharp right angle, unless there is some sort of rear access, or if it splits apart. Crazy complicated.
From what I remember watching her and Scone on cosplay photography critique, she has a limited arm range. She can lift them a bit but not that much. Regan has said she would rather wear her Seraphim cosplay over Helga due to the arm range. I don't remember seeing or hearing anything about how she gets them on/off.
Amazing costumes! I love the passion! I used to make costumes for me and my friends to go contra dancing. Medieval princess sleeves that leaves up, so much fun!
Wow, these costumes are awesome!!! Smocking is so much fun!!! You get so much bang for your buck. It's so easy once you understand the theory, and it looks so good! I did smocked sleeve heads in the last medieval gown I made my daughter and they are phenomenal. I sewed tiny seed pearls at the fabric connection points, and it just looks awesome. When we went to the Medieval Festival so many people stopped her for photos, and most of them commented on the sleeves and centre bodice (which was also smocked). (Pity comments can't have photos). Incidentally, Regan, I cannot believe your age! I honestly thought you were about 25l You both look absolutely amazing!!! I had a look at your website and will follow you on all the things. :)
The part of using Sharpie for the jewels made me chuckle a bit because I've done that to the transparent eye pieces of some models that I've assembled.
Love your stuff. I run a film studio in Ontario Canada. I should almost credit you for all the techniques you’ve taught me over the years for the props I’ve made for my films. Thanks
The appealing thing of tedium is that it's predictable, consistent actions without too much thought to it. It has a rhythm to it, a simplicity, and you can just kinda lose yourself in a flow state. You basically have constant progress =). Note that not all tedium is created equally, pressing a button every 5 seconds with nothing else is not necessarily as fun as lacing for hours on end =P.
There is a town in England that was featured on the show "Escape to the Country", their claim to fame is making lace. They also had people that taught visitors how to make lace.
Let us know Adam if you ever decide to go to a con in another state, maybe Texas would really like to meet You. Have been a fan of yours since season 1 episode 1 of myth busters. Such enthusiasm and inspiration for others! Great Person keep on keepin on Man!
Omg!! Cowbutt Crunchies!!!!!! They are my cosplay idols and Helga is cosplay GOALS!!!!!! I’ve been doing cosplay since 2001 and I feel like such a newb cosplayer looking at this Hahahaha!!! I just started working with foam and worbla in the last year or so. When I first started, there were no RUclips tutorials, no worbla, no foam, no 3D printing, no online stores that make costumes for you. Everything was made and created by hand.
THANK GOD I thought I was the only one who has that moment of panic before you enter a convention or a festival and you think "what if this is dumb and I'm the only one dressed up and everyone thinks I look stupid"
I swear film costume departments have nothing on some cosplayers that are out there.I seriously think those costumes could both be considered screen ready.
They don't have the same time frame sadly. That's why a costume that being worked on for years by talented crafts craftslady cannot be compared to movie props
Tambour Embroidery - well i just found how i want to do the details either for my talim pink outfit (soulcaibur 2) or my comp entry cannoness robe (warhammer 40k)
I also REALLY appreciate the classical sewing techniques used. No offence to armor makers, but I find that massive armor pieces always get more attention than costumes that use traditional and classical sewing techniques.
The helga shoulders are fascinating. The chest of it is a bit different than the images I just looked up. The giant chain covering would prob or too flimsy if they were that big
They are so delightfully articulate. It is clear they have so much experience and enthusiasm. Truly motivating!
Yea!.. It was like a 16 minutes clinic on cosplay and methods...She's like an encyclopedia (like Adam) on cosplay and crafts! Totally Thumbs up!
The level of detail that has gone into these costumes is just incredible
im suprised they're not a film designer
I could listen to these 3 talk for hours. You can just hear the passion for the craft. and those costumes are amazing!
These two should be ON Tested. They both look like ideal candidates for just binge watching them making amazing costumes out of everything.
I LOVE this interview. These ladies are so wonderful and knowledgeable and Adam is so sweet with them! The mutual respect here is incredible.
Love these interviews with smaller makers rather than focusing on the more celebrity companies or personalities.
I loves Regans speech patterns. 40's actress with a bit of unbridled humanity. Sorry I realise this is a weird comment
naah, its cool. its really gives more cheerful character to the explanation and description of the costume.
This is not weird, it's 100% accurate. She's delightful!
No you’re totally right! Explains why I was so enchanted when she was talking.
Seeing Adam fanboying makes me love this even more. I've never had interest in cosplay, but seeing his respect and admiration towards it has showed me to look more into it.
This video is a lot funnier if you imagine it's a literal demon excitedly talking to a human about their love of crafts.
agree!!
That would be a great series!
Isn’t that an anime? If not it should be
I met Regan at Supanova in Perth earlier this year and recieved a massive compliment when she said I had one of the best costumes there 😁
Her own outfit was amazing of course.
The hussar uniform? It’s magnificent!
I've been a fan of these guys since 2013. So fantastic to see Adam talking shop with them!!!!
Those costumes are so damn cool.
3 wonderful and creative people right there. That tree costume is so good.
Cool costumes! Cool interview! Cool ladies!
That was so lovely it put a huge smile on my face. Makes me want to go craft something immediately.
Dear Producers: if Adam and the girls had kept going on and on for ANOTHER 15~20 minutes, i don't think you'd be getting any complaints.. lol :)
So much enthusiasm and excitement that comes from people who dress up, it’s literally like a new person.....put on a mask and become whoever you want but, what you wear can also do the job...awesomely awesome 👍🏼😊
YES! Building cosplay is NEVER BORING because it's learning all the time! The process of solving the puzzle of cosplay is so fascinating.
You know you're doing something right when Adam Savage geeks out over your work. Very nice!
Arts and crafts, home econ, material science, and manufacturing engineering all in one packege, these ladies are.
Good observation, Master Yoda
very true
you dont have to know engineering to be good at costumes though it does help
Now this, is straight up professional cosplay, they look incredible! Good job.
13:09 ........Now we know Adam Savage's fetish is to be in a room full of elderly women, making lace.
@RamsTheNameCom
topless
she needed an over sized button Shield and oversize needle Sword.
She does! She has a button hemlet and a needle sword but opted not to have them (presumably bc they're hard to travel with), check their Instagram!
Or maybe these carton looking scissors swords from the dirk gently Netflix show session 2 I think
The level of detail they put into all of their work inspires me, my favorite cosplayers for sure!
Amazing costumes! And I absolutely love seeing Adam get excited with people about their crafts.
Wow. Love the sewing theme. Cos playing yourself is so absurdly wonderful.
Hadn’t heard of them before. Very inspiring work. Amazing.
There are sooo many ways to make lace. I do knit and crochet, but there's also tatting and bobbin lace. You'll have to decide which one you want to try. There are so many resources on the internet for all of them.
They are such an amazing couple
Wow, didn't expect to see a random Tree of Savior cosplay! Also of note, the game is available to play in the US (and Europe) on Steam (and maybe through the game's publishers site) :D
Daaaannnnggg masters of cosplay. Goddesses
It helps so much when costume designers post techniques they used to construct costumes I saw the Daenerys costume designers blog.
I love Adam's true pure passion and enjoyment for this craft.
Totally amazing ,skill level of these two, respect.
These outfits are perfect.
There are a lot of Revolutionary War reenactors who make lace. Go to a reenactment and there's a good chance you'll find someone
Adam be like "NEW FRIENDS!"
Man I wish I could find something that I love to with as much passion as these ladies and Adam
"You sharpied that, though, right?"
*guilty face* "Yeeeaaah"
whoa cowbutt crunchies on Adam Savage!!! 10/10!
Adam: see you next year.
Narrator: little did they know there would not be a next year. A next con, yes, but most of the next year was to be cancelled.
I love seeing totally enthusiastic creatives talking about their craft, it resonates with me quite well
Such a striking costume.. holy crap!! Regan is beautiful!!
Wow they're all such big fans of each other it's adorable
I think we all wish we had this level of talent! Wow.
Sooo much JOY in this!
Hand sewing with a good podcast is deeply therapeutic for me.
Amazing costumes! I love hearing how passionate people discuss their craft. Thanks for this interview!
It always cool to learn old crafts & arts to keep them alive... that’s why I do chainmaille & tinker with blacksmithing. I want to learn to weave sweetgrass baskets
Such incredible talent! It must be awesome to share such enthusiasm for making with your partner. I'm so jealous :)
Crazy cool costumes!!!

I love the hand ticking around the crest
I love this he seems so generally interested!
Amazing costumes! I love the passion! I used to make costumes for me and my friends to go contra dancing. Medieval princess sleeves that leaves up, so much fun!
Damn, those two are good.
Wow, these costumes are awesome!!!

The craftsmanship is insane! I’m getting anxiety thinking of a complicated costume on my wish list and they made moving art!
15:35 Someone wasn't paying attention to the "This Side Up" sign.
"I'm all about the tedium..."
Scratch that one from the "Said no one, ever" list.
Two types of people, tedious vs difficult
Dude, no, I am too though! That's probably why I like to watch his stuff. I love any project that allows me to get lost in the details
Have you heard of MMORPGs? Some people love the grind! 😜
Animators might say it

As an embroidery beadworker I can attest that beadwork is super fun! Also collecting shiny things is fun lol
These ladies must win Halloween every year.
WOW!!!JUST WOOWWW!!!
I cosplayed at an Anime Expo once years ago and I would love to do it again sometime.
What a lovely interview! Thank you.
"Filming on a potato." 🤣🤣🤣
That's just awesome. 🤣
Cowbutt crunchies are super skilled!
YOU LADIES ROCK!!!! Way to go!
There is a town in England that was featured on the show "Escape to the Country", their claim to fame is making lace. They also had people that taught visitors how to make lace.
Omg thank you for showing cow butt crunches, I have been following the Instagram page they are such talented people!
I wonder if Adam could do a collab with them at some point? They seem pretty awesome
Oh I'd love to watch that. Ha they should go learn to make lace together.
They're going to be ar Daisho Con! So excited!
Such detailing :-)
Woah! They are truly masters of their craft. Very inspiring. Nice job ladies!
That background box with the sign:
"Fragile, This Side Up"
...but its on the side and rotated 90 degrees lol
Always love seeing Adam exicted over things this was no diffrent even if most of the talk went over my head lol
Let us know Adam if you ever decide to go to a con in another state, maybe Texas would really like to meet You. Have been a fan of yours since season 1 episode 1 of myth busters. Such enthusiasm and inspiration for others! Great Person keep on keepin on Man!
Well done! They look great!
That Canadian smocking on the sleeves reminds me a lot of dimensional tuck knitting.
They seem like such cool people. Would love to hang out with them.

Just...wow!
How does she transport her costume?
Wow, Regan is gorgeous
OMG I love them SO MUCH!
I'm squishing so hard right now!

wow! this is a great interview! so good!
That helmet is the bomb.
Go to there workshop/house please. would love to see a tour of where the magic is made.
I need Cowbutt Crunchies to reup their youtube channel and add a craft room tour and their creative processes. Mighty need.
Curious as to how they came up with the name; "Cowbutt Crunchies"?
Amazing
Tambour Embroidery - well i just found how i want to do the details either for my talim pink outfit (soulcaibur 2) or my comp entry cannoness robe (warhammer 40k)
Fragile this side up -> Great costumes and dedication :)
