Watching those old films of Wilt playing when he really turns on the speed running down the court it's pretty clear he becomes much faster than anybody else. Part of why Usain Bolt was so fast and set those records was his height 6'5" which gave him a longer stride than everybody else. Wilt clearly had the turnover rate and leaping ability of really elite pro athletes of any sport. It would have been interesting to see what he might have run a 100M and 200M in had he trained only for that sport.
There is a video of Wilt triple jumping and he looks slower than me right now. And triple jump just like a long jump you go as fast as you can before taking off. I think he could train 10 years and Bolt would leave him behind at least 15 yards.
@@cooljp1531 LMAO what exactly would you expect somebody to look like who is that tall doing a triple jump? When I watch him turning on the speed running down the court he is significantly faster than everybody else and that picture of him hovering in the air at 4 feet off the ground in the high jump shows he had a high percentage of fast twitch muscle fiber. I'm not saying he could have been some sort of olympic athlete but clearly he had the same type of athleticism that the best NBA and NFL players have and that's pretty insane at that size.
@@joeldriver-sp2rg I agree he was pretty athletic, but people who think he actually ran 40 in 4.4 or had a 50 inch vertical are delusional. More like 5 sec. plus 40 run and 35 - 38 inch vertical. And he's not hovering 4 feet off the ground, more like less than 3. Camera angles make for weird pics. A 50 inch vertical for a 7'2" guy means his chest touching the rim, and I've never seen him even get his forehead above the rim.
Jim andWilt were/are amazing athletes. Bill Russell ,Dennis Rodman, Julius Pepper, Tony Gonzalez, Bo Jackson, Ricky Henderson, Lawrence Taylor, Prime Time were/are amazing as well.
Does anyone in NBA history compare with Wilt Chamberlain's athleticism?
Bill Russell for sure. Russell was ranked seventh in the WORLD in the high jump when he was in college.
@@brum23 LOL had none of wilts speed or strength. try again
Uh, Russell could long jump 25 feet. Wilt NEVER did that. Russell was also a great athlete.
We have an actual video of Russell jumping over a defender. We have ZERO videos of any of Wilt's claims.
Russell couldn't carry Wilt's jock strap. Statistically, Wilt destroyed Russell. Stop it with the Russell garbage
Wilt was a force to be reckoned, I would love to see more of his tv interviews, he was very sharp as well.

THE GOAT HAS UPLOADED AGAIN🗣🗣🗣🗣🔥🔥🔥🔥
🙏🙏🙏
he was best athlete ever
Yall even got the Allstate guy narrating??!? As if this channel wasn’t goated already💪🏻
GREAT VIDEO SIR! LOVE IT!!!!!

Jim would have the edge in a short race (40-60 yards). Wilt would whip him in a 220-440 run, which Wilt actually competed in at Kansas.
Wilt beat Jim in 40 yard dashes. It's well documented. Wilt had the rare combination of strength , speed and endurance.
@@keithharris6442 both of these men were like real life John Henry characters, come to life.
Beat him twice the story goes.
@@keithharris6442 never happened
@cooljp1531 Were you there ? Or even born ? Teamates said it did happen. I saw Wilt play and he was very fast.

Jim was wrong - but you had to go to the ranks of the serious power lifters, like Vasily Alexseyev, to find more strength.
Interesting that this got removed and then re-uploaded
The NFL didn't like me using footage from their Jim Brown video so they made a copyright claim. So I went across the internet to obtain other footage.
@@FoobasSports Oh ok. Good job as always!
