Following up a year after I first watched this video - thanks again for posting it. Back then (about 18 months ago) I was deciding between these two tables, Keter, and some others. This helped cement my decision for the Worx Pegasus. I've used it many times since then, and it's been incredibly handy, easy to use, and valuable. To your points: it's light, folds and unfolds and locks in position extremely easily, and despite some of your viewers complaints, I've found it extremely sturdy. I've use the clamps and bench dogs to clamp all different shapes of small projects: great for quick clamp ups when I'm gluing up, finish nailing, or putting screws in projects. I also just had to cut several pieces off of some heavy 8 ft long 2 x 10's (some still-damp pressure treated - HEAVY - and some regular douglas fir), and the clamps were perfect for the purpose - super quick to adjust (from either end - very convenient and quick) and then lock in with a couple of quick squeezes of the clamp handle. Despite being lightweight, the Pegasus really is solid. Having used it for a year, I've decided to go ahead and get a second one. BTW: for anyone wondering about having a vertical clamp to use with the Pegasus, I've that pretty much any large opening bar clamp works just fine with the Pegasus: while it won't "attach" to the table, you can use a bar clamp vertically along any edge of the table: the table top is sturdy enough to make this work. Thx again for the review.

Thanks for the comment - I guess when you are comparison shopping you can get caught up on things that truly don't matter. THe Worx table is everything you need and nothing you don't. I'm amazed at how solid the table is. Thanks again for your comment - I,m positive that it will help other shoppers - I'm going to pin it to the top of this thread

You know, when a review is presented, usually it's done in a way that underscores both the good and bad of comparable products. In this one, I could tell in the first one minute, 15 seconds where this was going to end up. Even the few positive points you mentioned for the Kreg were immediately followed by a "but..." and a statement that clearly telegraphed what was going to be said about the Worx. I've been using my Kreg benches for nearly two years and not once, not ONCE, have I ever been pinched. And as I watch the Worx being folded down, it's obvious to me that if your fingers are on the slide when you press those release buttons you're fingers are going to be smashed. You may pinch your fingers opening the Kreg, but you can equally crush your fingers closing the Worx. I've never pinched any part of me with any part of the Kreg benches. I'm not saying it can't happen because clearly it can. I'm merely saying that working with shop equipment and tools requires care and that attention be paid.
My shop requires that I share the space with my car, so I have to stow all my equipment after each day. I've probably unfolded and folded those benches a thousand times and I've never once (even the very first day) had as much trouble unfolding them as you demonstrated here. You raise one leaf, slightly lift up on it and the legs will easily fold out, then you raise the other leaf. There's no reason, nor benefit to, trying to raise both leaves at one time and honestly I can't see how being able to lift the Worx bench off the ground by both leaves at the same time to unfold it is a major benefit.
You missed several benefits of the Kreg that I don't see how can be replicated by the Worx. The Kreg is designed as one part of an overall host of tools and accessories, all of which work together. This is why it's called a "mobile project center" not just a "workbench." It has a channel all along the outer edge that allows you to insert the boxes of pocket hole screws into, so the box literally clings to the edge of the bench instead of taking up surface area or having to hold them in the tabletop bowls. There's also far more clamping surfaces on the Kreg than what I can see on the Worx, even one that's on the underside of the working table when you need downward pressure from the edge. From what I can see on the Worx, you can only clamp from the edge inward, like a vice. I don't see how you can clamp downward. And having those clamps on the Worx jutting out from the edge like those? They're just begging to get snagged by someone walking by or by a compressor hose, risking tipping the whole bench (and project) to the floor.
If you have more than one Kreg, you can not only connect them more solidly together than what the little rubber band connector on the Wors looks like, but you can span a 2x4 from the side of each bench, fold down the inside leaf of each bench, drop a sheet of plywood in there, and you suddenly have a large work table surface what you can collapse and stow in only 6 inches of depth against a wall.
Also, I count 4o bench dog holes on the Kreg versus 16 on the Worx, which gives me far more versatility when trying to hold projects. And from what I can see, the Worx bench dogs don't have a rubberized top that holds projects off the bench surface so you can do things like routing, planing, or cutting without worrying about marring the bench top.
The channel on the Kreg is a standard T-channel that allows any tool or clamp with a flt screw or bolt that fits the channel to be used with the bench. I'm gathering that the Worx clamp channels only work with those clamps and only FOR those clamps?
The Kreg also has two larger hole at the two back corners that can be used to hold hammers, drills, or even bottles of glue. I see none on the Worx.
I'm not saying the Worx is a bad bench. I haven't worked with it so I really don't know and I'll admit I'm writing this having only been able to view videos of it on RUclips here. But I HAVE worked with the Kreg benches ex-ten-sive-ly and they are far better than you give them credit for.
    Sorry for the novella.

@@Kitearmy Sounds good. And please know that I don't intend to discount your comments on the Worx. It's appears to be a completely serviceable bench, especially in light of your comment above. I just wondered at the title of your video, which clearly suggested a head-to-head comparison from which Kreg lost, when in reality (at least in my mind) it's like comparing a generally base model light duty truck to a heavy duty work truck but claiming the work truck loses because its gas mileage is lower. Used as intended, the Kreg benches are equal to or superior to any commercially purchased bench I've ever used. Thanks for posting!

I bought the Kreg, and because of two reviews - Kite Army's review being one of them - I am *always* cognisant of pinch points during setup and stowage.
With that said, I agree with all of your points. The Kreg is a great bit of kit, and on the face of it worth the premium. Note I have not worked with the Worx table.

I checked out the Worx table but selected the Kreg for a few reasons. While the Kreg is a heavy table, it's extremely well-built, sturdy and stable. The Kreg table also allows you to side clamp, using the support brackets you mentioned in your video - the included AutoMaxx clamp attaches to it to provide vertical clamping like a vise, when used with the included bench dogs. Because the Kreg clamp can be positioned anywhere in the track, it provides much more versatility than the Worx table for selecting where you clamp. And, as other reviewers pointed out, you can easily change the clamping pressure of the clamp with the thumbscrew, and nothing will move around. The Kreg also has a track under the table that can be used with their face clamps to provide additional clamping. As you mentioned, the Kreg's support bracket's can be used to create a large work surface by spanning between two mobile project centers and dropping in a 3/4" plywood sheet between them. A couple of other things I like: a)the Kreg table has two holes in it to rest your drills in, and pockets like the Worx for small objects, and b)the sides of the tables have slots that allow you to hang Kreg screw boxes from out of the way.
I do agree with you about the pinch point - I pinched myself a couple of times also, and was surprised they did not engineer that out of the design. You have to be conscious of the issue when setting up the table. Also, it lacks clips to keep the table wings closed during transport. Finally, it's a little awkward to carry due not only to the weight, but the position of the hole designed to put your hand into when you carry it. If you have shorter arms, you can't use it.
The choice of table is one of personal preference and requirements, but I would say the Kreg seems to be the sturdier and more versatile of the two.

Kite Army Thanks. I was at The Woodworking Shows in Somerset New Jersey today and went to the Kreg booth to discuss the issues I have with the work table. The rep was a little defensive but did mention they would probably engineer the pinch issue out of the table in its next iteration as they've had complaints about it. I mentioned adding wheels to make it easier to move around, he countered, and rightly so, that adding things like wheels and other doodads will raise the selling price. But then he suggested they add adjustable legs so the table can be leveled on slopes surfaces. I mentioned adding onboard storage for the accessories and he heartily agreed. Anyway, this table is not for everybody, for some good reasons mentioned in the video and in the comments. But, especially as another commentator wrote, if you use other components of the Kreg system, it really works out well.

I love my Kreg table. This table makes it easier for me to work on my projects because I already own Kreg clamps and other compatible equipment. I have never come close to pinching my fingers but that doesn't mean it won't eventually happen. Probably my biggest complaint about the table is that the top surface isn't completely flat when it's set up due to the slight play in the latches. I don't mind the extra weight because it never leaves my shop. Still a great table and I'd buy it again if I had to .

Just now watching this as I’m researching folding workbenches/sawhorses. I’ll briefly give my story of how dangerous a folding sawhorse can be. Many years ago I was folding up one of those basic galvanized sawhorses. I used my hand to hit upwards on the locking cross brace, not thinking about its sharp edges that act just like the blades of a scissor as they fold up. That jagged edge sliced about two inches into my hand between my thumb and pointer finger. I learned my lesson. I now use my booted foot to collapse the legs.

This is a very biased and unfair review on the Kreg table. I considered and studied both and eventually purchased two Kreg tables. I found them extremely useful in my shop (I already own Kreg clamp table and a very large heavy shop made assemble table), even more so when I am at job site away from my shop. You failed to mention some very important features of Kreg that are critical to professionals or serious DIYs. Kreg table is much sturdier and heavy duty, and this along makes the choice of Kreg no-brainer. If you own other Kreg tools (K4/K5 pocket hole jigs, face clamps, etc), this Kreg table will be a wonderful addition to the Kreg eco system. This Kreg table also has much better mechanism to join a few together and make a larger work surface. The WROX multi-table connection mechanism is useless. If you only intend to use with a single table, maybe the WROX will be fine. But if you want a 4'x8' surface to work on large projects on a job site, a couple of Kreg tables are way better option. BTW, the Kreg bench clamp comes with it can have clamping force adjusted. Your complaint that the clamp is weak only shows that you don't know how to use Kreg clamps. In fact, Kreg clamps have great reputations among professional wood workers. You cannot blame a tool because you don't know how to use it. Those clamps come with Wrox are cheap and crappy. Wrox table may give you a few more lousy clamps. However, if you already own high quality clamps (such as Bessy or Kreg), this Kreg table will be extremely productive. Kreg is a reputable brand which makes high quality professional tools. Wrox makes Ok consumer grade products. There is no comparison. Finally, it is a joke that you trash this table because it pinched you twice. This is in fact the only valid point you've got, but you made too much a fuss about it. I agree that this is a flaw and users need to pay attention to it. No one in my shop or contractors work for me has ever had issues with it. Maybe Kreg should improve their design, but you also need some common sense to use serious tools.

    • @Kitearmy

I know this post is old, but I couldn't resist adding to it.
He didn't touch on the clamp other than to say the timber was loose under it, he didn't say that the dog holes are square to each other so when using them and the clamp the joint is square, he didn't touch on the load rating of the Kreg. I'd have the Kreg any day over the other. Setting up the Kreg pocket hole jigs is a bonus, sitting the screw packets on the edge is another bonus.
      He is a POOR reviewer.

So, I purchased 2 of the worx tables 2 years ago after originally seeing your video. They were okay. Last year I used my son in laws Kreg table. I now own 2 Kreg tables and the Worx tables have been relegated to the shop wall. They are like a bicycle compared to a truck. The bike has its uses, but when it comes to working you had better have a truck. I don't even bring out the Worx tables to have lunch on... Any clamping that needs to be done is more secure on the Kreg table with it's built in clamping rail and under table clamp slot. And I have yet to pinch myself on it. :)

one important point missed in the video
the kreg table has dedicated holes for the k4 and k5 kreg pocket jig, to bolt into, m5 screws and bolts in the uk,
i have 2 kreg tables joined together with the plastic butterly locks, this gives a five foot continuous track to slide the 2 kreg clamps into.
my thoughts, well designed robust table, easy to fold easy to move, sturdy, plenty of clamping positions, dedicated for kreg clamps and jigs, best used for efficiency as a set of two, which is why i bought 2, well 3 fitted together would be ideal !

  • @whiskeyblood
    @whiskeyblood 7 лет назад +45

You have the weight difference exactly backwards. A heavier bench ALWAYS wins- zero exceptions. The last thing you want is it to start walking on you as you are working on it. We aren't taking these on backpacking expeditions so unless its an insane amount of weight (it isn't) then Kreg actually wins the weight issue for sure. The ONLY compelling point you made about the Kreg being lesser is the pinch points. I agree that is a concern and a surprising miss from Kreg who usually engineers their gear from a user experience point of mind. They always keep tweaking their designs based on customer feedback so I would expect to see that changed in V2. The Kreg does however have LOADS of pretty compelling features the WORX does not and you addressed NONE of them. The Kreg is a very flexible table that allows for a wide variety of tasks but it also as one would hope, is largely designed to support the existing Kreg line of tools. You showed none of that. WORX has no massively successful line of tools like Kreg so naturally it has nothing like that to support and only supports some generic/common tasks which the Kreg also does. Instead of focusing on basically the only features WORX has and showing those options on the Kreg and then honing in on 2 things weight (you had backwards) and pinch points (very valid), I would have liked to seen a more accurate representation of the features the Kreg offers even though the WORX has none of those. Very biased review and that does nothing to help you and your channel.

Owner of 3 Kregs and 2 Worx here and I was waiting for the pinch before the video started. :-) Lol. It got me a couple time in my first day with it but never again, In reality there really is no reason to have your fingers near that fold but how you engage with the table when you don’t know better almost guarantees you’re going to learn the hard way. :-) I think for most people, especially small project work, the portability and price make the Worx is the way to go.. it’s a “lighter duty” table but will serve most flawlessly. The kreg has so much heft and feels securely in place due to its weight, so if you are one to put a couple together with 2x4s and plywood, the Kreg is going to feel more secure. Throw in a pair of work gloves in your kreg order. Lol

After watching this video and looking at the comments it seems your hand size doesn't correlate to your brain size. How much did Worx pay you to plug their product? You picked up the worx table and snapped it into place, but you couldn't puck up the Kreg to do the same thing, instead it got caught up in the grass while you bumbled around with it.

I have to admit to being favorably impressed by both the comments below and the general quality of the tool presented. When it comes to "danger" in my woodworking tools, I generally find one or two things which have stood me in good stead: 1. look at the tool(s) to study all the ways they might pose a danger, and 2. Use the "once bitten, twice shy" rule of (purple) thumb.
That being said, as a woodcarver who lost his shed along with his house (and dog and family), looking to set up shop in limited space, I'm going for the Kreg product for its build quality, stability, reputation, number of available holes for static dogs as well as my Veritas "Wonder Pup" adjustable bench dogs, and, finally, Kreg's style of "universal" clamping.
Thanks for the video, Jonathan. You clinched it for me.
p.s. I've got a 16 oz. framing hammer more dangerous than that table...

Thanks for the review. I'm looking to purchase a couple of these work tables - I'm still up in the air on which one; however, I'm leaning toward the Kreg because I can make a very large work surface tying them together with 2x4s' and a sheet of plywood. I know you made a big deal about the pinch hazard but that's silly to me - I know the danger points for all of my tools and I simply avoid coming in contact with them. Thanks again.

      @Kitearmy  7 лет назад +1

No worries. If you are going to be using that table everyday on a job site - I would lean towards the Kreg too. But if portability is critical Check out the worx - they also connect together with 2x4 (no shown in vid)

Appreciate the video. However, the guy is missing a lot of the positives the Kreg table has to offer. These are two of the best portable folding benches out there. In fact, I own a Worx Pegasus. I am a DIYr. If I was making a living as a handyman, I would get the Kreg table. It's sturdier and has a number of advantages you can learn about from other videos and comments below. You can find a Pegasus in Canada for Cdn$99, while the Kreg costs almost Cdn$250. Kreg's accessories are also expensive here and I don't need them. For me, it was a no brainer as I already have a decent work bench, thus the decision to purchase the Pegasus as a portable option for only 99 bucks. I am confident most DIYrs will enjoy either table. Cheers.

I bought both of them and bei ng playing with them for hours..I like the kreger clamping system and how sturdy it is and also the holes holder for the drill and maybe a hammer. I like how versitily the single channel is and also the channel on the sides for clamping..Dont like the weight though. Its not bad but I just like how light the pegasus table is and how compact it is. I am just a home owner who wants a foldable table just in case I need to cut something or to do little projects..I can see why people that have shops or work in construction maybe go with the kreg table but I think any project can be done on ether one but so far Iam leaning towards the pegasus because of the size and weight...The kreg is a nice table too but for a home owner I dont know if I should keep it or keep the pegasus. By the way I have not pinch my self a single time so thats not a problem at all. Please help me decide. lol

I watched the Kreg table video first. While the Worx table seems decent, The Kreg table has set ups that are Kreg jig specific. That is what interested me in the first place. There video shows the ability to attach the Kreg jig right on the the work surface, which allows me to use my larger jig away from my workshop. Also that aluminum rail down the center for attaching a Kreg only clamp is a feature the Worx doesn't have. The Worx table seems like a nice table but if you are loking to do joinery projects and you already are using other Kreg tools, it seems like the Kreg table makes more sense.

I think the pinching aspect is just a matter of being careful. I've seen both tables and the the Worx table looks and feels so rickety in comparison. The "table joining" ... things... are hysterically inadequate and provide almost no useful benefits. I do agree that the weight might be an issue for some people, especially when I consider buying a pair of Kreg tables for my mother to work with. But the array of features that the Kreg has and the number of accessories they provide, in my humble opinion, out shines the Worx.
I do feel like you were a little biased. I don't think you shared the price of the Worx either ($119.00 vs $159.00) - Everybody has their needs, but in this case - the Kreg seems more versatile and well built.

There are many wood workers features on the Kreg table that were skipped. I would suggest that before you move on and buy the Worx clamping table look at the Kreg video. It is not just a clamping table. If your a pocket hole user and need a system designed for the rest of the Kreg tools and hardware you owe it to yourself to look at the comprehensive review. The Worx is a DIY clamping table, the Kreg is a woodworkers work station. Enjoy your reviews, but this one was comparing setup to setup... a functional review of each would be more helpful.

  • @trcmf

I realize this review is your opinion but I'm blown away by your review of the Kreg Work Station. please take a moment to read the comments below. I've been using this for months and have never even come close to pinching my fingers on it. Also, there are a ton of features that you missed on the Kreg unit. First, the issue with the pinch point. If you hands are no where near where your edges come together you won't pinch your fingers. This "pinch point" is actually a ledge so that you can extend the table with a sheet of 3/4" material when you use the 2X4 feature that you mentioned on the side. Second, you mentioned that the auto adjusting clamp is loose. There is a tension adjuster on the clamp so it will auto adjust and clamp tighter or looser depending on the material you are working with. Some additional features: pockets in the surface to put hardware (same as the Worx table, locations to attach a K4 and K5 kreg jig, an addition track on the under surface of the table for a second clamp, the outer edge of the table has a lip running along the perimeter of the table to connect the Kreg screw containers, the spot on the side of the table where the brackets are placed for 2X4 extensions can also be used us a two position end vice with the included clamp. The center clamping rail can support 1100 lbs which can be used as a saw horse when the tables are folded down. Finally, each side of the table can support 300 lbs and the table will not tip if that much weight is put on one side of the table top. I would love to see you do a proper review of this product.

    • @Kitearmy
      @Kitearmy  7 лет назад

Thank you Tim for a constructive comment. As you indicated a number of comments do echo your opinion BUT just as many agree with me. Once I pinched my finger, multiple times, my objectivity of this table was out the window. So yes this was not a proper review of this table and all it's features. Now if you watch the most popular review of this table - the guy is sponsored by Kreg he complains that he pinched his finger as well.
After saying all that, I still like the worx table much better because it's lighter and easier to operate. Thanks again

I do believe you did a fair review I just don't agree on all points. I own the Kreg table and I am not sure what I would have to do to get my fingers pinched. One issue Kreg does need to address is that the table tops do not lock into place when folded that would make it easier to carry. I do prefer the added weight when I am planing or routing wood, it is rock solid with no movement. My table is and will be relegated to my shop. I certainly prefer the ability to use my Kreg clamps which are superior to the Worx clamps. If I did a lot of traveling with my table I would make a handle with two 3/4 inch rods that will go through the table tops when folded. If you have other Kreg clamps and tools the functionality of the table really shines.

Thanks Rolf. That was a very constructive comment. I'm just a weekend warrior at best and some of the things that appeal to you don't have as much meaning to me and vica versa. I've had the Kreg table for several years now. It's rock solid, heavy duty construction, not all plastic. I see the Worx table for the occasional, light duty user, not the heavy use professional application. I find that all the Kreg products are made for uses to use on a daily basis, not once in awhile. In my work, I always use two sawhorses with 2x's and a sheet of plywood for a temporary table. The Kreg lends itself really well to that kind of setup. However, with both of these and a few similar products, the plastic parts have not held up. Just tossing one into the back of a pickup can break it. The weight/steel of the Kreg makes it more stable but the pinch point is a real irritation.

I too have purchased a Kreg Project Table and I do not like it in the least bit. I do however love most of the attachments that come with it. I may be not using it as much as professional construction people would be using it so I do see there is a need that you have for heavy duty equipment and this Kreg may be it for you. I almost purchased two of the tables and I am glad I did not. These are my reasons:
    1. It is a bit heavy for and older person like me.
    2. If I leave the dogs in and fold it up to move 80% of the time I will be picking up the bench dogs as they fall out. Kreg why is that?
    3. There is no easy way to carry it around. If the sides did lock down then there would be less of a hazard.
    4. If I sand any wood on it there will be black marks on the wood from the table I will have to sand off. Maybe if Kreg put a rubber cover for the top like on there bench dogs it would help. I now put a rubber mat on the top when I do sanding. I have punched holes that the bench dogs go through to hold it in place. If Kreg made a sanding cover I would use it more often. (Hint Kreg!)
    5. The clamp that comes with it is terrible to me. Maybe I don't use it properly or I am using it for the wrong Job either way I do not like it.
    6. All of the over priced attachments that come with it or you buy as an accessory for the table have no place to be stored. How about a case or something?
    7. This problem I have with most of any type work table. Non adjustable legs. I would love to make it level on uneven ground.
    8. I do not like the uneven pattern on the tabletop and do not see the purpose in it.
As of now I will not be buying the second Kreg work station. I will be buying the WORX table and if it is better I will say so. However if it is not I will also be saying so. I just hope all my Kreg accessories will work on it.

Your right about the integration of the the Kreg Parts. Ok, I thought I would make a video of the pinching problem - let me describe, if you lay the table on its side (like in video) as you lift it it's almost impossible to not get you fingers chewed off. This does not seem to be a problem for many.

Thanks for this review. I was undecided, and as a result, I'm buying the Kreg table. The weight and heavier construction is an asset, not an issue, and the pich issue is not worse than any other shop tool or case currently in my shop.
The Kerg is far superior in construction and usability to the cheaply made, inferior quality Worx/ Black & Decker items that the home stores pitch.
The Kreg table is part of their "ecosystem", with accessories that I believe make the table an asset for any DIY'er's shop.
    Just my opinion !

I don't own either one of this tables, but from get go I knew which table you were going to pick. The extra weight adds stability to the Kreg's table which Worx does not seem to have. As for the rubber connectors for Worx, you might as well use your spit, which would be much stronger. More power to you for liking the Worx, but not a very good way of comparing products.

I don't own either, but you come across as biased towards the Pegasus. Calling the Kreg table the most dangerous thing in your shop, showing a shot of your finger nail, showing a shot of you in pain after getting pinched, bringing your family into it and expressing your concern for thier safety, stating that we might end up in the emergency room if we buy the Kreg table... We get it...It could pinch you if your not careful.

I think you missed the opportunity to do more of a side by side comparison, breaking down the major features and demonstrating which out performs the other. For example, theclamping options and ability to secure work pieces. Kreg and WORX seem to have approached this differently, I would have like to see them both in action. I agree with Jesse Moree, it felt as though you started this comparison totally biased towards the WORX. For those of us without experience with either it wasn't a very helpful video.

Found them on eBay for 89.00, and Worx has an outlet on eBay where they sell it for 99.99. Just wanted you to know, what sold me on the Worx vs the Keter. It was two things you pointed out, really. I did not like on the Keter that the legs didn't fold back in completely when collapsing the table. And the clamps on the Worx are vastly superior, and longer. Again, a no brainer.

I don't see how so many people take umbrage with your negative opinion on the Kreg, you've STATED reasons for it, it makes sense. It's heavier, more expensive, clunky to open, doesn't have a place to store the clamps, and potentially dangerous. It has advantages too which you also talked about such as the better connection system and the 2x4 rail thing, so if people were willing to live with the negatives they would still see some of those advantages you showed. Obviously the biggest advantage the Kreg table has is that it's compatible with the Kreg tool line, such as the pocket screw jig, clamps, etc. That should be a given tho, like of course it has that advantage!

I enjoyed the video and I'll be buying the WORX table but the review did seem a little biased. When dealing with saws and other wood working equipment you learn to keep your fingers out of areas they don't belong. I am a novice at wood working so the WORX is a little cheaper for me to purchase two of but from the video I did notice the table did have a draw back, the little rubber pieces to join two tables together looked very flimsy.

Lowe's sent 2 Kreg tables, both used and damaged. Lowe's is the new 2nd hand swap shop!! The Kreg table design has room for improvement from a weight, carrying and finger pinching point of view.

There is a learning curve with everything and many woodworking tools have dangers. You learn to avoid them. Second. The Worx Pegasus looks pretty cool, but the clamps only work in one way. How do you clamp to the surface. With the Kreg, you can put the clamp on the side, to use like a vise, or in the slot on the top, to clamp to the surface. Additionally, if you buy a bench dog hole base, you can put the clamp in any of the holes. Since I bought two of these tables, which allowed me to make a 12 foot long portable workbench, I got two bench clamps. With bases I can now clamp boards flat to to the surface of the table anywhere. With holes in my portable top, I can put the clamps there too. . There are more things. I can clamp metal to the track and cut with an angle grinder without fear of the heat melting the plastic. I contend that the Kreg is more professional and will last longer. The Worx, being plastic and with plastic and light weight aluminum will probably not last.

The biggest thing you are overlooking are the accessories. What makes the iPhone the best phone are the apps. And software. Sure we could Argue weight over build - all good points. But those clamps are clearly inferior to Kreg clamps. The included clamp and additional kreg clamps are all made to work seamlessly with the table. Sorry - although I agree with the opening / closing and lack of locking ability, as well as am slightly annoyed they didn't find a way to store the clamp and dogs on the table. Those don't overshadow the build quality and utility of the clamps, table and access to the kreg line of accessories.

As for the pinch points, just don't put your hand in that area. Dangerous piece of equipment? Not hardly. The first question I had was how did this guy pinch his fingers twice? Aside from that, although he does mention several times that the Kreg table is heavier and that he doesn't see any "value" derived from that weight, he missed the significant point about Kreg's product. That is that the table is misrepresented as being able to support 300 lbs. That would lead the less than careful reader of instructions to think they can use this to climb up on like a scaffold or short ladder--somewhat similar to the way everyone uses Black & Decker's Workmate (and other clones). Kreg issues a somewhat obscure message in its instructions not to stand on the table, or even sit on the wings. If you do, it will collapse the supports. The table only supports 300 lbs if the weight is distributed over the entire tabletop. It could be that the Pegasus has the same problem and that is why he omitted it. Nevertheless, the Kreg is certainly, and maybe also the Pegasus, a danger in a construction environment, because workers never read or heed instructions. It is doubtful if many homeowners do either.
Finally, the Pegasus clamps seem nice but they will obstruct most work done on top of the table because they are too high. You can see this when he clamps a 2 x 4 upright. For example, you couldn't run a router rabbit down the side of a board without some other home made jig to hold the board down. Same for a dado close to the edge of a 3/4" high board, say a cabinet side.

    • @Kitearmy

Kreg is a professional style table for carpenters, serious do-it-yourselfers, etc.. The automax clamp alone sells for $40 separately. As for the pinch points, it is ridiculous that was even mentioned. ALL tools are dangerous if you use them incorrectly. Worxx is fine for regular people. It is a table with plastic clamps. Those wouldn’t last two weeks with heavy use, but the table itself is fine for light, non-professional type use. Choose your use, then choose your table.

Isn't that what a review is supposed to be, an opinion based on experience and facts. Anyway, I appreciated your review and opinion, based on your personal experience with the tables. Thank You.

Do you own stock in worx?

Any basic precaution you aren't going to pinch yourself with the Kreg? It is so much more stable than the pegasus. Sure it weighs more but look at all the broken legs people talk about in their reviews. The worx table is a small project table, the Kreg table is a WORK bench.

Other reviewers that are sponsored by Kreg reported how easy it is to pinch yourself. True...I like the Worx as a project table.

From an fulltime RVers perspective weight, folded size and ease is key, Worx Pegasus all the way.

Have had the Kreg table for a couple of years, certainly would not trade it for the Worx table. The quality is built into the Kreg tools. And I would not call it a hazard, unless you are a DYI weekender.
