Josh you should have stuck to your bold prediction you actually gave me hope when you said Bama would loose to LSU that was!!! Your bold prediction but you confidently flip on me last week.
Alabama had a tough game should have gone for 2pts as Lou did. Young was very limited because of players not being in sync
Saban is as frustrated as everyone don't kick him down for the sake of your show.
Well... Do you feel players will return or declare? Because he(Saban) has a big influence over their decision. Theses players have been in the program a long time and expectations were high. Specifically Bryce and Will Anderson Jr.
Also I don't see this team beating Ole Miss, you and I both know Lane has had this game circled.
When Sark left and Bill O’Brien was hired it was never the same
Sarkesian is one of if not the best offensive minds in college football. He’s building something exciting at texas that even as a texas A&M fan I am looking forward to seeing in the future.
What pissed me off about that was as soon as Sark was hired, we all heard two names right off the bat for OC. BoB and Adam Gase. Saban didn’t even go SEARCHING for an OC. Only hired BoB because he knew and Belichick knew him. That’s on him. He needs to go out and actually search for an elite offensive coordinator who can actually TEACH and SCHEME against another team. This was the single WORST hire of his entire tenure at Alabama and I don’t even think it’s close. Same with Pete Golding. Since he took over for Tosh Lupoi in mid-late 2018 season this defense has been Charmin ULTRA SOFT.
Sark Blows
@@mitchell3176 But remember, Saban expected to have more players (TEs and big WRs) that would actually fit BOB’s system. He probably also thought that BOB would actually adapt when everything wasn’t going perfectly.
@@mitchell3176 1 name in particular I would love to see brought up for OC is Dan Mullen. I want Saban to get Pruitt back at Alabama.
This is probably the most intelligent SEC sports discussion I've ever seen. Thanks.
Josh Pate is the real deal
Josh with the paper pop!
Josh is hands down the best in the Country.
100%
@@gobigorange Well, at my brief exposure so far, at least he comes in as both non-partial and shrewd. That' alone deserves respect. There are MANY shrewd commentators out there but in the SEC, it's almost impossible for any of them not to have some homie bias.
I really liked your summation about Bama and Coach Saban. That was really interesting.
you are definately right about the coaching staff
Saban will clean house and the rest of the country will go back to crying about how it’s not fair anymore that Alabama dominates. It’s just a damn shame that Bill O’Brien and Pete Golding have just wasted space at Bama.
Living in Houston, I knew Bill O'Brien was a horrible hire. The fact Bryce has been this successful with BOB as his OC shows how great a talent he is.
I know this a little late. The Texans actually had more playoff appearances/division titles (four vs. three) than the Cowboys under O'Brien's tenure. As far for Saban and Alabama as a whole, they will be in the Sugar, Cotton, or Orange Bowl, with a 10-2 record very likely to happen. How in the world Mr. Buckley or Mr. Pete in the clip would you call this underachievement?
Mr. B, because it's a standard that we have here at Alabama. It's called winning titles and those bowl games you mentioned mean nothing unless they are in the playoffs. So, maybe you'd like to have BOB as your coach....... because here at Alabama he's sucks.
@@allenlawrence4011 I think Saban has spoiled you so much you forgot about a time you weren't a top 10, 25 team at all. If Alabama were ANY other team nationally, they would be romanticized. We have real problems with our various programs across Texas most notably Texas A&M.
Brice's talent has been wasted on a terrible OC !!!! Notice how Bamas Offensive and Defensive coordinators are not being hired away like they usually are every year , nobody wants these two clowns !!!!!!!!
@@matthewb774 it’s a underachievement because this team was hyped up in the preseason as being one of the best Alabama teams Nick Saban has ever had with a lot of returning starters and the team hasn’t even came close to reaching those expectations.
Die hard Gator!! Love all you work! Clear, concise and on target!!
Great breakdown of it all
Could it be that the competition is better, or at least much improved?
Alabama has lost so many good coaches and personal. You hit the nail on the head with that.
Yep everyone we win a natty saban has to start all over with coaches
Think about how many former assistant coaches are now head coaches. I don't see anyone knocking down the doors to hire our OC or DC to be there next head coach. And it certainly not for a lack of openings.
Everything I was thinking 🤔 is in all of these comments.
I think Nick is a great head coach but he is the one that has lost a step! You might not like hearing that or agree with me but it’s true! Head coach controls everything. His OC and DC are doing what they are told. He’s not getting the players he once did. For whatever reason kids want to play somewhere else
@@davidfishferrell You have no idea what you are talking about. Saban does not scheme the offense, the OC does and the same applies to the defense.
Probably the best and honest evaluation yet.
Couldn’t agree more. They have top 2 recruiting class every year so the main difference is the coaching.
The defense has been horrific. The offense has been inconsistent. Golding and O'Brien have been useless. Whoever made the decision to go for 2 twice made huge mistakes. Coaching decisions have been mind boggling.
That was Sabin…. 😬
I don’t look at that bc it never should’ve been that close to behind with with the talent difference.. lsu is no slouch but bama is more talented at many positions
@@Joelk-jw1gd Yeah, but I’m sure he was going off a chart with different scores and scenarios on it, like most coaches do when deciding whether to go for 2 or not. That said, I do agree that going up by 6 instead of by 5 probably isn’t a good enough reason to go for 2. The odds of a team getting two FGs or getting a TD and missing the extra point are not very high. He probably should have diverted from the chart there.
Going for 2 on the last TD was the difference in the game. Golding and BOB have been terrible, but this loss falls on Saban
The defense has been solid all season. Against LSU, the defense was rock solid for 3 quarters, an adjustment needed to be made when the QB started to run the ball. But, it would not have mattered, Tolo was bad this game just bad.
Golding and O’Brien go or any hope of the dynasty continuing is over
Georgia is taking over the sec
I agree
I'm with you on this
@Jeff -66 They just need to be canned, idgaf about respecting the clowns.
I hope Nick goes out and pulls Jeremy Pruitt off the scrap heap. He may suck as a head coach but he presided over one of the most dominant Bama defenses ever.
Bill O'Brien is that dude on
Madden that keeps sending 4 verticals and throws the controller at the screen when it doesn't work.
I've followed the Texans for years. BOB would abandon the run, even if it was working, and would get pass happy. His blocking schemes were really crappy and Deshaun Watson needed to play hero ball to bail him out time after time. Sound familiar?
Talent is spreading out the plan is working
Bama hasn’t been Bama since 2020. We are dead now, but we’ll be back! No excuses. Something ain’t right, but if anyone can’t fix this, the GOAT can.
Great comments!
As a Tennessee fan who has watched Alabama run the table for YEARS and be the gold standard for how to run a program it is crazy how the script has flipped this season. Don’t think I’ve seen such an undisciplined team like this ever in the Saban era they are all out of sorts.
I remember when Tennessee won 5 6 games in a row against Alabama it was about time Tennessee would show up finally. Bama will be back on top
Reassess the dynasty forecast.
Going back for a little history here so this may get a little winded. Please bear with me.
"Bear" knew the Veer was over. Modern ball was coming in and the Veer just could not put serious points on the board to save a defense. A prior Bama Alumnus came in. He was asked by Paul to do what he himself could not do. A guy with one leg slightly shorter than the other was asked to take it over and make the needed changes. Jackie Sherril was waiting to bust Bama out if Paul does not do what was needed to be done. So this Baltimore Colts Receiver comes in. You know the one, the one that was wide open in The Jets end zone and his legs could go in a long enough stride to catch a perfect bomb from John Unitas (colts lost 16-7). He comes in to Bama and makes the much needed changes. It works for Bama but the change was too slow. This new coach gets booted.
Elsewhere? East Carolina, Baylor and Rice are having a field-day with teams such as FSU, Gainsville and Miami.
Speed forward to the 1980's, 90's and very early 2000's. Everyone was complaining that these Florida Universities were "picking on smaller schools" to pad their numbers as "Dynasty's." Nobody said a dam*n word when Rice and East Carolina was absolutely decimating Florida State.
Maryland, NC State were doing the same thing to all Florida teams (this is all back in the 60's). No one said anything.
All of a sudden Don Shula enters The State of Florida and The Dolphins go 17-0, With consistent winning seasons.
Something happened to College football in Florida. Three dynasty's erupted simultaneously.
Why? Coaching spin-off's.names like Bowden, Spurrier, Andrews, Fisher etc, etc. coming coming out and spreading out. Take away Bo Jackson and Auburn dies after Pat Sullivan and briefly revives with Cam. All three major Florida Universities put together winning season's with bowl/championship winners. All three continued and well past 2000 but you could start to see the fade. Tennessee has put together good teams on some fantastic seasons. As Clemson, Georgia and Louisiana have done...but no dynasty's.
The Bear came to a close. Shula came to a close. BB came to a close as did the Canes. What happened?
There were no transfer portals.
Notre Dame did not beat The Canes when Jimmy Johnson decided to go for two instead of kicking a field goal to tie and go to overtime...The Hurricanes simply lost. Lou Holtz did not win that game, Miami lost.
There have been brief stints at outstanding runs on a season in between the years for all of these dynasty teams.
Why does a Sumlin get replaced by a dynasty coach that DOES NOT FIT?
Now at 86 million he is laughing on the self-sale he made and can not back it up.
No coach between Paul "Bear" Bryant and Nick Saban did it either. Jimbo got close for BB, real close. Meyer got close to Spurrier. They both were good stints to keep a legend and a team on the front-burner. JJ smoke it for Miami...a Dynasty he amply carried on with.
All dynasty's fade at some point. What makes a dynasty and why therefore do they last as long as they do? But they still fade. Saban will keep this one strong as Meyer did in Gainsville. Gus did in Auburn (though not an actual dynasty).
You know why, so do I. Sumlin should have stayed at Texas A&M. Jimbo should have stayed at FSU, Spurrier should have stayed at Gainsville. Mullen should have stayed at Mississippi State. Hayden Frye types don't bounce around all over country. Schembeckler's don't either.
What happened? Look real close and you will see it. Alabama ain't no different.
You should give LSU credit.
They surely should instead of making all these Excuses and say yall out played us;Good Game..
Players not playing to full potential is differently on the coaches and its really noticeable on the defensive side as well as the offense but just the sure will to win is the only reason why we have not lost 2 or 3 other games
Great analysis. Thank you.
Bama's biggest problem is the assistant coaching transfer portal.
I think it would be a way better situation if Saban admitted he was gay. Just came out and told the world he loves man sausage.
@@rockscousteau don't project your personal issues on others.
Biggest problem is younger coaches are taking over. The competition has caught up. Both LSU and Georgia have taken National Championships away from them.
Now UGA is #1 and LSU looks like the new power in the west.
Within 2-3 years Saban will retire and dynasty will be like Bear’s dynasty long gone.
It’s inevitable people get old and retire, competitors catch up. It’s was a great run for Bama fans but the ride is ending
@@victorbernard1256 Lmao you didn’t listen to Josh’s video at all did you?
Coach Bryant never blamed anyone but himself for not having his team prepared
Josh, I am 62 years old and I went to a Georgia and Alabama game when I was 8 years old. I had not watched anyone else play except Notre Dame back in the Ara Parseghian days. But, after that game, I became an Alabama fan for life. It was just the confidence that oozed from the pores of each and every player. Unfortunately, I have only seen this come from about 5 players in the last 2 years. I was thinking that the Anxiety excuse was crap. But after listening to Saban the last month and he took on the responsibility for that anxiety because he said that the players had a different kind of motivation the last 2 seasons. Do you know what I am talking about? But, after listening to Saban after this loss to LSU, I truly believe that the messaging to the players has been different in the way he talks about his coaches and the pressure put on the players to win. I promise you, Coach Saban, will fix this and they have some great recruiting classes come in and I truly believe we will be back and the Bama Standard will return along with the players not having the same mindset that I have seen the last 2 years.
Sorry, Josh ...Thank you for your honesty and your analysis of all the teams ....especially the SEC. Alabama is not going to the CFB Playoffs this year unless some miracle happens ...but I really appreciate you and all that you do for the sport.
Josh, you are absolutely on target with your comments! Agree 100%!
He might call to see if Jeremy Pruitt is cleared. He is a great DC for Bama
Great video
Finally, someone has said it out loud. Both Pete and Bill need to go to the house.
So Josh, you don't even wanna mention how you picked Alabama to cover the spread (13.5)? You didn't have crap to say about them then. So now you're looking back to last year to find their faults?? Come on bro. And like everyone else, you don't want to give LSU any credit. Just know you were wrong dog and stop trying to mansplane to everyone how bad Alabama really is.
All you have to do is watch the UGA TN game to see the stark differance in coaching from the co-ordinators. UGA shutdown TN offense with simple straightforward defense played perfectly instead of complicated and confusing schemes that Bama has been attempting to run since Golding showed up. The offense carried the defense but now you take away first round WRs along with suspect play calling due to O'brien and they can't carry the defense. Both need to go and go quickly.
Very well said. I would like to see them bring Scott Cochran back as well. I think he was a big part of that. Having that mentality you talk about.
I'm with you 100%, OC, DC, strength and conditioning coach, defensive back coach. It's not the lack of talent it's the effort to prepare.
who do you think coaches the defensive backs?
Thanks Josh for bringing some reality to this.
The raw talent level at Bama vastly exceeds that of all these teams that have played them close and/or beaten them. The raw talent level, thought coaching seems very lacking, is the only reason Bama has not been blown out 4 times this year. UGA, and maybe Ohio St ,have more raw talent.
When any head coach, and particularly one at Alabama, says "This is my fault. This is all my fault" That translates to "I'm gonna fire all these sorry SOBs who are working for me and any player with a bad attitude is gonna be in the transfer portal to a college somewhere on top of a mountain or in a desert that you never heard of."
Saban either boots Golding & O’Brien, or he retires.
Agree both gotta go I said that after last year
We all said that last year.
He made a deal until 2029
Man it feels good to hear this kind of shut
Geaux tigers!!!!
Josh you are absolutely right that the Bama team that lost to Clemson with three seconds on the clock was the best team in college football. The reason why Alabama lost that game was because of Lane Kiffin and Saban. Kiffin was selected as the HC at FAU after Saban recommended him. Alabama had three weeks to prepare for Clemson and Kiffin whi was the OC simply stop coming to practice and spent the majority of his time at FAU. He decided. to return to Bama three days before the Championship Game and Saban fired him. Saban then put Sarkisian in charge of the offense for the game but he hadn't coached or calls plays in two years. So Alabama went into the game crippled on offense. But what was really strange is that RB Bo Scarborough took over the game and Clemson could not stop him. He broke his foot in the second quarter and forced Alabama to depend on Freashmen Jalen Hurts. Every Bama fan and the media have said the same thing about that game that if Saban would have let Kiffin call that game because he knew the players Alabama would have won the game with no problem. Kiffin was very immature at that time and all he had to do was to simply show up and coach the Bama offense for his last game and he blew it. That would have given Saban 8 NATTYs within a 12 year period.
As a Houston area resident and Texans fan, I was shocked that Saban hired O'Brien who single handedly caused a contender to become a joke. When Coach Sark came to my Longhorns, the last guy that I would have hired at OC would have been Bill.
Alabama is still a great program and will compete for Championships but they won't get there will Bungling Bill.
Alabama is a poorly coached football team with no physicality. He's going to lose this team next week for the rest of the year if he doesn't make some changes right now. He'd put a player on the road for not doing their job. It all starts with the offseason conditioning program--since that changed the program has gone downhill.
The last 2 yrs have been filled with ups and downs. The similarities have been Golding and O'Brien. Under previous coordinators the O line knew how to block. The OC would run the ball near the goal line instead of throwing passes we see knocked down or picked off. When the team got a lead, there was no way they were going to give that up. The loss to TN was due in part to the insane play calling of Bill O'Brien. You run the ball when you're trying to end a game. You don't throw passes that fall incomplete and give your opponent enough time to drive. The last 2 yrs have been squads with no identity. They commit penalties that don't allow them to succeed. Not sure who is to blame on that but Bama needs an OC and DC that understand what it takes to close out a game. These 2 men do not understand that basic concept.
Bring in former players to help fixed the defense side of the ball!
Don’t know who for OC but Glenn Schumann at Georgia would be a dynamite DC. Dude is the reason UGA tears dudes nuts off on D.
Good stuff! And true
In the past other teams looked to poach Alabama assistants, it's telling that none have tried to poach Golding or O'Brien.
That’s because they’re laughing as they draw up plays against Bama’s same old readable seven plays.
Josh I like your analysis about Change is coming and I "AGREE". RTR🐘🐘🐘🐘🐘
I hope to hell your right Josh. Watching this team has been frustrating as hell the last two years. The coordinators are garbage
Yep!
Try being an Arkansas fan lol if we made the national championship we’d be ecstatic
You just need to say eff it man. Stop watching football. You are going to have a stroke.
Transfer Portal + NIL = Parity! From the college fans we’ve talked to, the only ones that seem to be complaining are the few “dynasty” program fans. Not being able to keep the top 2nd & 3rd string guys by fiat, these dynasty teams are beginning to die nasty!
BOB effect is real. Coming from a Texans fan.
It could simply be that the level of excellence Saban reached for a decade isn't sustainable for much longer than that. It was already unprecedented historically, so maybe the program has peaked out and needs to undergo a down cycle, like the economy sometimes after several years of continuous growth. What goes up must come down.
On point analysis of the problem at Alabama. Saban respects and does so much to help coaches I almost suspect he will privately talk to those he wants to leave before the regular season ends and suggest they quickly find another opportunity before he acts immediately after the bowl game so they don’t have to be “fired”. Then they can say the left Alabama for an opportunity at XYZ University. He has mellowed some over the years and with grandchildren and he may be a little upset with himself for waiting so long. “Ass chewing” frequency may need to increase.
But let’s also remember there are over 120 FBS schools who would love to be Alabama’s worst day or season under Saban. I think now there are 131 D-1A football schools and due to Saban’s unprecedented success, every Alabama loss brings euphoric joy to 130 fan bases and in many cases makes those fans happier than when their own team wins games against opponents not named Alabama. Beating Saban’s Alabama teams in the regular season instantly becomes one of or THE most iconic win in the opponent school’s history - look at the dangerous “field stormings” after teams beat Alabama. Sadly most of the schools make little to no effort to protect the Alabama coaches and players in these events. Auburn still boasts frequently of beating Alabama in the 1972 regular season - not much else to lean on in those 50 years.
I like Josh’s comment on the idiocy of clowns saying the Saban Alabama Dynasty is over. Clowns like “Scab” Scarbinsky and Fineclown have probably said that 8 or more times each during Saban’s tenure. After his first season (7-6) having a lot of disgruntled players from the Shula time his worst season I think was 10-3 - another year the above “self anointed” experts both claimed the dynasty was over. How many schools wish 10-3 was their worst season in the last 15 years? Also look at how much money is generated and how much more is spent by every school on football now - strongly influenced by Saban’s success.
I totally agree with everything you said.
My friend William said Fineclown, amongst many other true things. Roll Tide.
Get a job
@@gobigorange The man just spoke the truth and that’s all you can come up with? Try harder clown.
I don't think you are going to find much sympathy. Bama fans have had a lot more than there share of wins all because one man decided to coach there. I would like to see him go to the NFL. I bet he would do well there. I don't see how he can put up with the hassle of recruiting every year. Lol
Bama Nation needed this season. As a whole. You'll understand in time. Sometimes we all need a kick in the pants and a recalibration. To regain focus and overcome predictable human nature which can lead to complacency and a lack of fire 🔥 in the soul.

Congrats to LSU on the win but just being honest we might as well hand GA the trophy. They look elite on both sides of the ball. I predicted a Bama 3 loss season based on how we barely got by last year. Play calling sucks and the offense has no balance. We look very beatable by almost any opponent. I don't see how you can make that argument at all. We have had FAR better RBs, WRs, and linemen on the same team at the same time.
The 2019 Bama team was the best offense ... Tua was a master of the offense .. Bryce isn't on that level
@@travb120 The entire reason we've won any of the close games we have, is Bryce Young being under center. BoB's atrocious play calling as OC would have sunk us with anyone else at QB.

@Jeff -66 Agree, except for that I’d put up the 2015-2016 defenses as the most talented Bama Ds ever, even though their stats weren’t as good as 2011.
This season can’t be over soon enough. I’m ready for both coordinators to go. They should have been fired after last season. I don’t see how they are still there. They’re both trash.
I think the biggest change that have the team in this position is when CNS decided to play quick-fast football. This is what they do in the big 12 or Pac-12 Since the move to a faster quick team, there is no power, intimidation or attacking style of play. The OL and DL is no longer a power point of the team, and the MLB position, a Alabama staple, has been bad for a few years. Correct the OL, DL and get a MLB this team will be fine

Yep. His pregame prediction of the Georgia-Tennessee game was sheer brilliance.
As a uga fan as much as i want the dynasty over for Alabama, there is no way their dynasty is over. They are a serious threat week to week. Bama will be back and scarier than ever next year.
Yes, we will be back. Mean time y'all keep handling business..til we meet again. Respect. Roll Tide.
I appreciate your input. I fear 2024 is more likely, but as long as we get more disciplined and wanting (to win), I'll be okay. Best of luck to your Georgia Bulldogs this year.

Not winning a ship next year....will be a rebuilding year for sure.
I remember after the Florida game last year, people (you included Josh) telling us concerned Bama fans that we need to learn to enjoy winning even if it’s not a blowout. Well what we were complaining about was something we saw starting to take root in our team and those things have now officially festered. We knew back then what everyone is now screaming from any platform. Sucks when you’re trying to tell someone something’s wrong when the rest of the world tells you you’re crazy. Oh well Roll Damn Tide
He's an idiot. Check out his pregame video prediction of Georgia-Tennessee. Also, all anyone has to do to beat Bama is to flush Young out of the pocket. He panics every time.
Funny how he never mentions those parts.
I also remember him calling Alabama's defense Oklahoma after that 2020 game against Ole Miss, and then chiding us for always bashing Golding the following year when our defense was somewhat decent.
So you saw this but Saban didn't? Maybe Saban needs to take some blame. Maybe. Lol. But there certainly isn't a lack of talent. Top 1 to 3 recruiting class every year.
Astute and very likely right on.
We need to get Gary Patterson as our dc
Hey hey ho ho... Bill Obrien has got to go!
I’ve been a Bama fan since 1985, and I’ve been patient for a couple of years now but the OC and DC need to go. Their overall stats are good, but in big games they can’t get stops or bleed the clock when they need to, to finish out games. This team intimidates no one. They play soft when it matters, and that’s a reflection of the coaching.
Try being a Texas Aggie fan. I’m out of it lol
I have a buddy who is a casual fan and this is what he said to me this morning.
“What’s the deal with the offensive coordinator there? I just don’t understand what they’re trying to do.”
O’Brien isn’t the only problem but he’s a big one. The offense has gotten progressively worse week in, week out under him.
Golding should’ve been gone. A change in Sabans philosophy is the reason he’s still there
@@worldsgreatestdude1784 you guys need to start a crowd fund for that buyout
Facts. Strength and conditioning coach needs to go as well. People forget that guy spends most of the time with the players then the head coach and assistants. I miss Kirby Smart and Steve Cochran
If I was Nick Saban I go looking for a young offensive coordinator this old season. One who got fire in his belly to win. Should check out James Madison offensive coordinator
Spot on coverage!
The problem is to attract the top talent you need to play a pass oriented game style, but it leaves you vulnerable when you can’t control the clock and ball possession. Ohio St. has the same problem.
Georgia doesn't seem to have any problem attracting top talent with a defensive first balanced offense style.
But we all have watched LSU put top receivers in the NFL with a run first, ball control offense for years. Saban’s yearly teams ran the ball. We cannot run at will and that’s the problem. We have to get back to a dominant running game.
@@johnseller7641 Georgia has much more native talent than Michigan does and it is in the area of the country where the most talented is grown. Having said that Georgia doesn’t have near the track record of recruiting talent as Alabama or Ohio St. We will see long term and if they start getting beaten by team that bring in better quarterback talent. Look at the Quarterback talent Ohio St. has brought in remember Joe Barrow was a Ohio St. quarterback before he transferred to LSU.

16 of the 24 games have been played in SEC/ACC/BIG 12 territory making them essentially home games when playing the PAC 12 and especially the BIG 10. This gives a big advantage to the SEC, ACC, and BIG 12.
7 games were played in PAC 12 territory and only one in BIG 10 territory.
So Ohio St. played six CFP games 4 in SEC territory and 2 in PAC 12 territory, they still won three of them. Alabama losing to both Tennessee and LSU at Tennessee and LSU respectively and Georgia beating Tennessee at Georgia reemphasizes the importance of home field advantage in college football.
Only 3 teams have beaten Alabama in the playoffs Clemson twice and Georgia and Ohio St. once each.
While Ohio St. isn’t Alabama they have also have had three different head coaches since Nick Sabin has been at Alabama and Dabo Swinney has been at Clemson.
Anyone that watched the Texans Bill O’Briens last few years can see this offense was going to happen bc it’s what Watson had to do almost every single game basically make amazing plays bc there were few easy ones
Dont forget the Brady years in new England, they never won a superbowl with bill o b
U same thing I been saying since last season.
You can't be on top all the time Nick Saban is a damn good coach if he retire today or tomorrow he will retire the GREATEST!! Plus he doesn't have the same players from last year
Saban didn't suspend Burton despite clearly unacceptable behavior. I'd say that was a matter of putting winning over culture. Not so long ago, Saban knew that the right culture IS winning.
I've been telling y'all for a couple of years now....Kirby Smart was the key ingredient to Bama's dynasty, not so much Nick Saban. Since Kirby has left Bama for GA, coincidentally....Bama's defense has been on a steady decline and GA's defense has been steadily improving. And we all know the old saying, "Defense Wins Championships!" Take away the phantom offside call, and Kirby Smart would have won 2 Natties at GA already, and would've been 2-0 in the Natties against Nick Saban.
I'm a GA fan, and I've been saying since his first game against Miami last year, that Bryce Young is hands down, the best QB I've ever seen. The absolute best!!! He's the only piece of Bama football that i feared last year and this year, as a GA fan. If Bryce is kept out of the SEC Championship, GA's road to the playoffs will be much easier.
If the sorry Falcons would do everything they can to get Bryce Young, then I'd start watching them again. It's been nearly a decade now since I've not watch that pathetic team, and it has everything to do with the poor decisions made in the draft, year in and year out. Mark my word, Bryce Young will go on to win multiple Super Bowls in the NFL! If anyone out there has any connections to the Falcons organization and reads this comment, please let them know the main ingredient for their success, Bryce Young! I would trade 5 CJ Strouds for 1 Bryce Young!!! It's too bad Saban and Bama can't capitalize on this dude's talent. Crying shame for Bryce Young....but worked out for my Dawgs! 😉
You never saw tua?
@@travb120 Tua was good, but pales in comparison to Bryce. Give Tua the same personnel that Bryce had and he would have 3 to 4 loss a year.
Alabama was lucky enough to get Cincinnati for their draw on the playoffs last year they would have lost to Michigan if they were to play them
Needs three new coaches, 1st strength and conditioning coach, 2nd Defensive Coordinator, 3rd Offensive Coordinator. Bama needs someone who can adapt and change.
They're four points from being undefeated and #1 or #2 in the country. The sky isn't falling. Everyone needs to calm down.
They are 4 points away from having 4 losses
@@michaelmerck7576 six actually but decent point.
Man, I totally agree with you! No identity! The Offense can’t seem to block any other team! That sets up failure for BY! He can’t complete a pass if he’s having to run for his life! I hope and Pray next year’s Team can block for the quarterback who ever that is! I have always loved Bama but I get bad anxiety watching them play anymore!
Saban has always made changes when changes were due. He did it when the spread option was a new thing and his defenses were getting destroyed. He hired coordinators that could run it and defend against it. The issue with Bama right now is they are still running a dual threat offense with a pocket passer. When Bama had great receivers, that worked. But last season and especially this season, Young needed to be a dual threat to be effective. Next season you might see more of that with the next QB, whoever that will be. But Saban wants to have options at the QB position and I know he wants to feature running the ball more than they have the past 3 or 4 seasons.
Defensively, the coaching carousel caught up with Saban. I have always been amazed at how Bama could still do it with so many assistants and coordinators move on. But, he doesn't always nail it and both coordinators aren't the Bama standard.
At no time in college football history has a team been at the top year in and year out as this alabama program has for the last 15 years. And to do it in a time with such parity and rules and regulations to make it that way. It's truly a sign and a testimant to how great Saban is to be this great for this long.
I dont disagree with much that your saying. I do however think its time for Saban to work with the school on finding his replacement whether that be short or a long term decision depends on the university
Longtime fan and they struggle every game got me holding breath not playing up to there talent level can't keep getting 15 penalties every game and expect result to be differe.nt
I mean I'm a OSU fan but Bama is still Bama... they lost on a last second field goal and lost on a lucky 2 point conversion. They were within 2 mins of winning both the games they lost. So yea they out of playoffs because no one gets in with 2 losses but still. I think they can beat anyone.
True, but there is something wrong there this year.
C'mon Josh. Last year was more than just the SECCG. You think Georgia wins the NC game with a healthy Jamo and Mitchie? I agree with everything you said about this year's team.
I liken those changes to something that’s hard to understand for most people. Mr Saban has had a long and successful career. At the head of a program you have to understand that over years and years of experience you see details that others do not and see changes that need to be made based on observation of outcomes in games, in practice, in the locker room and off campus entirely. A good example that’s a little easier to understand is you have a problem with your car. It’s not running right. It makes a funny noise. You take it to a really good mechanic and he tells you within an hour exactly what the problem is, what needs to happen to fix it, and how long it will take to fix it. There’s thousands of parts and dozens of individual systems at work to make the vehicle go and that man just spent an hour with it and knows everything that’s wrong and in some cases what’s starting to fail. That’s the kind of job a head coach has managing a program.
Thank you for saying it. I kept getting told that they are winning what are you complaining about. I kept saying it’s not a product I’m enjoying watching. After that most people would say you are an infected fan and you want to blow everyone out. That has never been true. Even in losses it was fun to watch bama. In 2011 the 9-6 lsu loss was one of my fav games to watch. The 2017 lsu game 10-0 was a joy to watch. There was so much tension built up in that game great game. It’s that this year on offense and defense it’s just not fun to watch. I didn’t even watch the entire lsu game this year because I knew the product. I was going to get and frankly I’m tired of being disappointed. It’s not the players I refuse to believe this is a talent issue. It is completely scheme. I truly believe if sark was OC we would still be talking about bama being wru. On defense I am making the same complaints this year that ive been making since 2018. Will always be a fan but when Saban got to bama he said he was going to put a product on the field that we could he proud of. I don’t think he is successful this year and it’s a shame for Bryce young and will Anderson. Those guys deserve better than bill o brien and Pete Goulding.
Ask Will Anderson and he’d tell you it’s anxiety 💀😂
Sometimes watching Coach Saban on the sidelines he seems to be frustrated too often this year when his patience wears thin and he goes on one of his rages. This can't be good for the unity of his team. He should lighten up some and realize that he has won 6 national championships at Bama and if he decided to hang em up at the end of this season or whenever he retires as one of the top five to have ever coached football. I think Saban is a fantastic teacher, leader, co-ordinator, recruiter and genius.
Fair statements. Roll Tide.
I think you absolutely nailed it in this segment. Change is a comin.’ I have not been a fan of O’Brien since the day he was hired. That feeling intensified when he said that Saban was his only call during the offseason. There is no creativity in routes. He’s too predictable. And, he’s too NFL pass happy. Sure, you have Bryce Young (thank goodness) but you also went and got one of the best running backs in the country and for what, to be the leading receiver on the team? I advocated for Golding for a long time when others wanted him gone. Now, I’m not sure if he’s the problem or the 3-3-5 defense. Probably best to get rid of them both just in case. Both Kiffin and Sark were able to adjust on the fly. O’Brien just puts everything on Bryce. We need someone who knows the college game here and now and knows how to make proper adjustments.
Real!!
BoB is like an egotistical jazz player; doing way too much and going overboard with stuff no one needed or asked for, and forgetting about the overall composition. And the fundamentals of tackling have disappeared overnight. And I'll say it - Alabama needs Scott Cochran back.
I'm with you on Pete - I was in his corner for a long time. Defended him. But after this game, the defense just lacks intensity. Lacks explosive blitz packages, defense formations (remember when we use to confuse opposing QBs?), and just general turnover/playmaking play. I was hoping he'd finally turn the corner but its just not there... Don't get me started on Bill, I feel like he forces everything through the passing game. When you roll 3 pass plays and don't have outlets for Bryce... its tough to move the changes or get any momentum.
The defense can not get a “stop” unless it’s MissSt. The offense looks like “sandlot play.” Brice looks like Fran Tarkington running for his life and trying the save our arses. He couldn’t pull it off this time. He Needed help from the other ten players FOR A CHANGE. SMH
You typed all that and failed to mention Pete Golding. Pete Golding is ALSO a problem. He needs to GO
People make the mistake of seeing individual talent as team talent. It's the skill of the team vs. the skills of the other team. It does little good to have a great deep defense and a thin shallow offense. It's what you put on the field, not what appears on a piece of paper or that gets on the recruitment charts.
Alabama's defense has been in a steady decline ever since Kirby Smart left and became Georgia's head coach. The stats don't lie!!!
Dynasty might not be over, but that iceburg melting fast
I agree about the Coordinators. BOB has got to go. He can't call plays and doesn't develop QBs, go back to when Milroe played for proof of that. Golding doesn't need to call plays either. He doesn't have the talent for it. I don't think we should get rid of Golding because he is good at recruiting and coaching linebackers just not even an ok play caller. Golding's deficiencies have been masked by the good OCs we had in the past.
Definately not a saban team this year
Dabo had an awesome pick play at the end zone, twice!
Kirby deserves a lot of the credit during part of their run
