We stayed in Casa Inti Guesthouse in Managua. Paid $45 the night for a family of 5. They give you a discount if you pay in cash. Very close to route 4, only 45 minutes to Granada, and about 30 minutes to Masaya. Nothing fancy, but had all we needed.

      They gave you a "discount".
      Did you try for more?

I met a couple on Ometepe who had bought property because it was "cheap". Then they tried to buy a King Size bed and a full-size refrigerator and have it brought to their property. Not cheap.

That's a remote island that you need to take a launcha during high tide to get to with limited power and internet. Literally talked about them in this video by reference ;) It's a super cool party hostel if you want to disconnect and get drunk. But food and everything out there is super expensive because it's brought in by boat and there's basically nothing to do but look at the sea as you can't get to anything. So for the right person it's amazing, they do a great job out there. But if you want to see Nicaragua, save money, have Internet, or have lots of electric... it doesn't make sense. It's a super niche place.

THe regular complaint out there is that you get trapped and can't leave the island for supplies, or power. They have solar, but not enough to power the facility. INternet is a 1Mb/s wifi link to the mainland that is shared between all people. Their vibe and internet is for party backpackers who want to disconnect from life. I have a couple videos from there from 2022, search on the channel. My wife's best friend owned it back when Lonely Planet raved about it.

@@ScottAlanMillerVlog in looking at the map it looks like highway or road 14 comes to the main town there Ponelosa and Las Penitas that also has several places..That is on the main road right? Yea I do not want to do the party thing all night...although I do live off grid but have AC etc etc etc all on solar lol

@@ScottAlanMillerVlog Didn't realize it was a island..with Goggle maps it looks like 1/2 inch which could be 50 miles lol Thanks for the heads up!
