    The crashing over expansion joints is the tyre choice…. Fit Michelin Pilot Sports and the ride becomes more plush and crash is greatly reduced on expansion joints. 👍

    Which one would you choose - Cupra Leon estate 310 BHP or Skoda Octavia RS estate 245 BHP?

    Great and thorough review, thanks. What settings did you have the individual mode for every day use. Guessing as you ran it for 5 months you’d know and I get mine in a few weeks!

      Thanks Martin. From memory, it was comfort suspension, dynamic engine and exhaust and comfort steering.

    Has the infotainment improved recently to allow saving settings properly etc for those that have this vehicle?

    • @timlolxP
      @timlolxP 6 месяцев назад +1

      I have a seat Leon plugin hybrid. The infotainment improved quite a lot, with that said I haven't had crashes even at the beginning 2,5 years ago.
      I got an update about 1 year ago and since then the speed has improved to the point where I can't complain. Android Auto works perfectly wireless and I'm happy with this system, even the touchbar is fine, when you know it.
      To the assistant features, this is still a thing. It defaults to everything on every time you start the car. That must be a regulatory thing bc it's the same in a modern Audi, Citreon and Merc.

      @@timlolxP I have the 1940 update on my cupra formentor now since november, after doing a full factory reset it's somewhat better, but there's still a hang bug in the scenario where your car is in a garage / some location with poor reception and the online services aren't available during startup, the system may end up spinning indefinitely in "loading settings" and never times out so the entire infotainment is inoperable. This happens maybe once every 2-3 weeks. They still have work todo clearly.

      @@Sipu79 this is strange.
      Like i said i have this MIB infotainment since 2021 and never experienced total crashes. It was slow as fuck on startup.
      Now its okay, nothing leading but totally useable.
      I dont understand, why there are so many differneces between the same system. At my dealer many complained about the system. Tbh i almost exclusively use Android auto, so never used the sat nav.

      @@timlolxPit's not strange, it's just a programming error / poor testing in conditions where the infotainment has bad or 'just good enough to get a signal but not good enough to get a connection' scenarios where it's trying to hook up with the backend but doesn't have a working timeout logic for the attempt.

    What version is this? I have the vz2 and dont have the cupra button on the steering wheel, if i want to chamge drive mode i need to go thru the horrible menus

    • @timlolxP

      A tip which works for my seat Leon plug-in hybrid.
      I have individual as my normal driving profile and sport mode. To use it flick the automatic selector back all the way when you are in D, and then it should switch between sport and individual mode. When that's the 2 modes you use, you shouldn't have to go into the menu anymore.
      Hope it works, bc that drove me crazy as well.

    • @leemclaren2518
      @leemclaren2518 6 месяцев назад

      @@timlolxP that's just the gear box it changes to sport. That's for when you need a quicker acceleration to overtake for example. The car still stays in the individual mode/comfort mode you start driving in. It doesn't change the full profile to sport. Just to let you know

    • @timlolxP
      @timlolxP 6 месяцев назад

      @@leemclaren2518 actually not just tested it, maybe it's different in cupra and seat models.
      It changes the driving profile from individual to sport, so ACC, engine, steering etc. Not just the gearbox. With that said I don't have the DCC but I guess it would change the suspension as well BC it changes the whole drive mode.

    • @leemclaren2518
      @leemclaren2518 6 месяцев назад

      @@timlolxP nah mate I'm in my car right now and what I'm saying is correct for my car. If you are in comfort or individual mode it will show the emblem at the top of the dash in this case the cog icon for individual. If you select the S on the gear selector the gears change to S1,s2,S3 etc but the cog remains at the top. Showing the driver profile doesn't change to sport, it's just the gear box.
      Mines is 2l petrol DCC so this could be the case but that's how I know my D/S switch doesn't change the profile.

      @@leemclaren2518 okay then it must be something different with seat and cupra. Thought it would be the same, but that sucks for you xD
      I checked also my car, drive modes on the main infotainment display, changed with the gear selector and it changed the drive modes between sport and individual on the infotainment.
      Also in my drivers display it changes from the gear symbol to sport, when i flick the Automatic selector all the way back.

    Pretty sure the FR is the equivalent to the golf R, and the cupra is meant to rival the GTI clubsport

      Fr is equivalent to the Golf R Line. Seat doesn´t have 2-0 tsi engines. Only Cupra have them.

      Max horsepower the Leon had was a 184hp diesel/petrol which was the same engine from a GTD. GTI had around 225hp and a golf R had 300hp. Rather have a golf r hatch over a Leon 300 due to 4wd but would rather have an estate Leon 300 over a golf R estate as they look better imo and both have 300 hp

      I think if you are looking at this segment then the VRS is an option. I'm in this very situation now - Octavia felt slow to me (even an A4 quattro is better), and as a 6'5 fellow i felt the seats in the VRS weren't low enough relative to the dash which seemed low. Just couldn't get comfortable in it. I'm leaning to the Cupra :) Just a shame I can't find a g20 330i tourer with a sunroof in New Zealand :( That's the best out of the lot but also $$$$
