Hi Gary, I've seen a lot of vids of you guys exploits. Looks great! Do you remember how much fuel you burned through on that particular voyage? I plan on a little mission of my own soon, don't wanna run out of fuel but also don't want to out there with a 45 gallon drum on my 380 sib! 😃
I’m sorry I honestly can’t remember. The 25hp 4 stroke Mariner was quite economical. But I took 70l which was plenty. My 60hp 2 stroke uses much more on my Searider. I take 100-120l when touring and could do with more sometimes. 😳. Aim for 1/3 out, 1/3 back and 1/3 reserve.
@@GaryBaker ive been lookinng at the same boats the excel with alloy floor... whats it like ? especially compared to the others? and issues or merits, looked an amazing trip that.
Gary Ward Good little boats. 3.3m was a little too small really. 3.8m would be my minimum now. The alloy floor will make it stiffer and would be my choice if I were going to leave it inflated. However air floors are better if you intend to deflate it and put it in your car. Good luck.
@@GaryBaker cheers mate. It was a 3.8 i was after and mainly for fishing.. Id prefer the airdeck in all ways except fishing haha just think it would be better with a hard floor for fish and hooks baits etc and standing👍 not an easy choice lol

The one I’m using there is an Excel 3.3m other sibs are around 3.8m so all very small craft.
