A nice trip and thanks for your video , a bit far north from us . Living on the south coast . Yes we got into ribs with a 4.5 then a 7.5 scorpion and on to an 8.1 scorpion , fun and smiles over many years , with a few scowls when the weather is or was crap .👍
You chose the right month. May was a washout. I live on bute and have a rib. We didn't go out once in may. We're getting out now but it's still not been great weather. Recommend spending bit longer on bute. You need to see mt Stuart House, its really unusual and very special Rothesay is a bit run down but the island is lovely as you'll have noticed buzzing round it. Great stuff.
Excellent video and looks a lovely trip. I think ribs in the 5m and under size are the way to go as they are far more manageable on slipways etc for one person. Mine is a 4.5 m and when things are more sensible I fancy a step up to 5 m
Great video shame it was not a week you did. You probably get asked this a lot but what is the white disc on the back and the black circular disc with a hole in the middle to? Thanks for sharing Ray K UK 🇬🇧 YNWA.
Great video, I met highland haggis on the Saturday morning at the public slip while he was meeting one of your group. I was coincidentally launching my sib at the same time.
What a coincidence! Well now you know what we got up to 👍🏻. There’s usually a couple of trips each year on Rib.net that are suitable for sibs if you ever want to join us.
Yes another exciting video. I have the itch again. Gary what size and length of rope would you recommend to take in the Sib for mooring on the shore and beech. Really enjoyed watching and thanks for informing me about Ribmat which I have joined. Atb Steve 👍
Depends on the size of your boat. 8mm would likely be fine for yours. I have 100 feet. Rarely use it all but better to have it. Do a search or ask on Ribnet. Lots of people with more knowledge than me one there 😄.
It’s nice to have the extra room to move about. Very different boats. Helm position is good more gentle on your back. Needs weight in the bow to balance it out though. It’s a good family boat not a wave jumper.
I’m getting about 24 but I’ve heard of someone getting 34 with just a 60 hp outboard. The 6.7 will be an entirely different boat. Huge in comparison to a 5m.
Came here from OYZ, you lot are doing such mint adventures. Deffo subbed and liked.
Thanks

Very capable rib you have there, Scotland is worth the long journey, great boating on the West Coast.
Thanks! We’re heading that way in May 2023, so very useful
If you filmed it add a link here so I can see it. Hope all went well.
Your best video yet 😊♥️
Great footage Gary. Nicely edited too!
Thanks. I think they get a little better each time. 😄

Yeah I’d like to spend some more time on Bute it looks lovely.
We were very lucky with the weather on that trip!
Great Video Gary!
Thanks.
I enjoyed that. Just liked, subbed and gonna watch some more of your vids now 👍
Awesome, thank you!

Yes a 5m is very manageable.
great job master, nice boat
Thanks 👍
Great video, 360 camera is a great job here, you can enjoy the ride on the day and then catch what there was to see in post.
That was the plan, takes any effort out of filming so you can relax and enjoy the trip. Takes a bit more work editing once home thats all.

White disk is navigation light, black one is a mount for antenna

@@GaryBaker excellent I'll check that out👍
Great footage and a great day out by the looks of it. What camera setup/system was you using for the rear of the boat? Many thanks
Thanks. It was a GoPro Max. Just got it. Seems almost ideal for this sort of thing.
Love your video. Does Largs have over night stay? Many thanks Ray K UK 🇬🇧 YNWA.
Yes they do. Excellent facilities too.

Hello Gary. What jackets do you use when out on the rib. Looks warm and cosy. Thanks Steve 👍
Sorry for the delay. It was a flotation jacket. Often sold in fishing tackle shops. Has foam pads inside.
That's a big upgrade Sr4 to Brigg 5m...how are you finding the different helm position?

Hi, what outboard did you have on the new RIb?
Nice Videos well done
Thanks!
Nice video, is it expensive to launch out of Laargs marina ?
£15 each way. They don’t charge extra for parking your car or trailer.
camping in a castle, that takes the cake lol
Not quite glamping 😄
How many knots do you get out of the 50hp full throttle? and where does it start to plane out of interest. deciding between a 6.7 and 5 atm.

@@GaryBaker11 months later and got a navigator 520, very pleased
I have a 4 mtr inflatable with a 20hp would like to come along would that be possible the next time you guys get out
Join Ribnet and keep a look out for sib trips
