Heat up the water first for like 30 seconds in the microwave and activate the yeast by dissolving the packet in the warm water with a teaspoon of sugar. You’ll know the yeast is alive and ready to use when bubbly and creamy! Then, can you add it to your dough!

We were sleep deprived JA we kept wondering why the mix was still thick so we kept redoing the whole thing over. Guess what we kept forgetting? Your donuts looked great. Donut hole cheat snack. You can use Pillsbury canned biscuits. Just cut in 4ths roll into a ball and deep fry. Then roll in cinnamon and sugar. So easy and so good.

I am really enjoying your videos. Flour can get packed. To ensure a proper measure lighten the flour by loosening it before you scoop then level off the top. Ina Garten has some good tips on this as well.
Great try with the donuts, glad 1 came out well!! Some ideas: Danishes, Fettucini Alfredo from scratch (more simple than it seems!), Corn Bread, Baked Ziti or Baked Mac n Cheese!
I'm new to watching your channel and I want to say good for you! To get a better rise and fluffier consistency the dough needs to be alot wetter, kneaded for a good 10/15 mins longer and needs alot longer proofing time - about 2 hours. I'd still eat both happily though 😂
When you put the mix in microwave I'm like NOOOOO YOUR GONNA KILL THE YEAST!!🙈 the dough is suppose to spring back when you put your finger in it. I'm still watching so let's see .... 😄 EDIT: yea I saw a few mistakes: 1. Use bread flour. 2. Don't microwave it. The water/milk should be lukewarm add the yeast in it set aside 5-10 mins if it foams up then your good. 3. Might use butter instead of oil. 4. Dough needs to rest in a warm area for at least 1-2 hours. Cover real well so no air can enter. Loved the episode 👍👍👍👍 next make a favorite of yours?

I was going to say that, you were supposed to use bread flour. Don't you worry, you'll get to evaluate at some point if your dough bread is good. I think you should have put the liquids lukewarm and not so hot. You also could have helped the dough rising by putting a recipient with hot water in the oven with the dough receiving that moderate heat with obviously the oven turned of. You should try a doughnut with the recipe of the magic dough: 250gr flour 120gr plain yogurt 120gr milk 30gr yeast Good pinch of salt This dough works for everything, pizzas, pastries (Danishes, croissants, Tarts), doughnuts and baguettes and breads. Your yeast died, it can’t be over 110 degree that’s why it taste more like bread and is so dense. Yeast will give it the fluffy texture like a pizza or donut has. But great video overall 😬

I think another issue is that the liquid was too hot and killed the yeast so the dough couldn’t really rise. The liquid should really be about 42C
