I've never seen such a beautiful woman like her. She's absolutely authentic in many ways. What a breathtaking singing voice she has!

Comment number three if you will indulge. The most beautiful woman to ever appear on stage, combined with the most beautiful voice. INTERPRETATION is her greatest gift. She knows exactly how each song should be sung and then doesn't deviate from that. I can't recall any singing star that hasn't fallen into the abyss of over singing. The meaning is lost in their ego outshining the meaning and feeling. Lea Salonga is the greatest singer ever with no one in sight. The meaning of her music is always found. Never lost.
she got the beauty, the voice (ofcourse), the class, the brain... she got it all. she's a complete package.
Whose rendition is the best is a matter of preference. I prefer listening to musical rendition that brings me somewhere or leads me down memory lane. Lea's voice quality is golden and clear. She is a great story-teller too. Everything is just right. No over singing no unnessary vocal acrobatics, no bullshit, just pure clear voice and lyrics and emotions that a whole listening experience demands. Everything is tasty and pleasant to the ears. There is eargasm when evrything is just right and in perfect place. Simplicity is what leaves a mark in her performances. I watched her live and her voice blends with orchestra leaving her audience all in awe. You know that feeling when you leave the concert hall? You want to come back to that experience.
Teary eyed watching her once as Fantine on Broadway. The moment she stepped onstage, she captures you with her presence.
She does a great rendition but for me no where close to linda eder, the power the control the sensibility when she sings the song i feel every single lyrics

@@garyhollander1 Linda's version is for me my favorite. I've seen her live and she is extraordinary. Lea's version is also flawless. I love both versions for different reasons.
I'm 17 years old and a girl felling in love for Lea in 2018 I love how clean her voice is if only new generation can appreciate this kind of music.

Linda Eder was “The Voice” back then . She owned this song. Lea is without a doubt one of the greatest singers still. Linda is good now, but her voice has changed. Lea is extraordinary in that sense.

This is one of my favorite musical songs and I've searched many times for the best version. No one comes close to Lea's version. It's like I'm really watching the original musical and the angels came down to sing through Lea Salonga.

Technically, Lea gives justice to the song. She even sings it in original key. Clarity is evident, and I think, it's her forté. The main difference compared to Linda is, the latter sings it emotionally.
Also the power and climax
Lea is one of the greatest singers, however I saw Linda sing it in the show and at that time, in the 90’s Linda OWNED it. No one has ever sung it like Linda Eder did. That said Lea 25 yrs later still sounds as good as she did way back then. Linda still sounds good, but few singers have been able to maintain Lea’s standard of excellence.
I grew up listening to her. Both my parents are Filipino, and they have her Broadway Concert disk. This song is my favorite song sung by her, it's so beautiful.
This song will always have a special place in my heart...It was the song I sang at my last vocal recital in high school.

Just to verify my earlier comment look up this womans other performances on you tube. Over the rainbow, on my own, colors of the wind, I dreamed a dream, memory and the theme from mulan. After hearing those renditions if you think she is not the greatest female artist ever you need your hearing checked. There are many great singers but there is only one lea salonga.
