If you're not comfortable with plein air (on location) painting, this painting can help you start to develop a plein air style, indoors! I'm using a photo to prompt a plein air style landscape of a scene I know well - I'm freshly in after a walk to this exact location, and I'm using my knowledge of the landscape to inform my painting process.
I'm painting in a direct style, no hairdryer to lock in layers before continuing the next layer, and I'm building up detail as I go.

I loved when you added that light blue right at the end! It made the entire painting pop!
Can’t believe after all these years watching you work that you are left handed!
You just noticed, huh! 😁

Lovely style of painting. Loose, somewhat dreamlike and beautiful. I have just found your channel and I have subscribed. Thank you. 😃👍
Thank you again Angela. Very sound advice for every watercolour artist. It takes the anxiety out of learning to remember just focus on where you are on your art journey 🙏
So glad your doing the World of Watercolor Month. Love the prompts.
Wonderful! I’ve always loved your style, Angela!
talking about painting shadows and suggesting something hidden in a painting is so poetic, thank you so much for mentioning that and this video is very helpful!!
Thank you!
This is so exciting! What a challenge for you. Thank you for doing this. I’ve been away from watercolors for months now. Got everything out a few days ago and started warming up for WWM!
Have fun!
Always an inspiring delight to watch you paint!!
Are you aware that you have painted a wonderful cat at the base of the trees on the right hand side ? Wonderful

This is a very beautiful painting, thanks for sharing!
Inspiring & Fun to watch. Thank you 🖌️
Great lesson Angela, thank you!
Really beautiful Angela!
Really a lovely tutorial. Five ⭐️s. Your explanation is clear and thoughtful. I’d like to make one suggestion and please don’t be offended, on a clear day as you offer, the sky is darker at the top, lighter at the bottom, bc of the water droplets in the atmosphere closer to what we call the horizon line, this creates a bit of haze, therefore giving the impression of a lighter value. This is said in layman terms but is the visual and scientific truth. I hope this is considered as a loving and constructive comment…that is my motivation and intent. Big hugs. Sent with a loving spirit. ❤️
Thank you!
Hello Angela not sure if you remember me… when I first began this art journey I was subscribed to your site. Coming back to WC after a big break so thought July WWCMC perfect timing….so glad you are still on line and sharing…so excited to see what I remember!!! I have been painting but exploring Acrylics more than WC
Hi Cecilee! Nice to hear from you again! Enjoy World Watercolor Month!
Thanks for doing this Angela. So far, I've found Jean Lurssen and Jill Williams in addition to yourself. Denise Soden is doing something as well. Are you aware of anyone else? The hashtag only brings up you, Jean, and Jill.
Yes, we're starting small!
