Buttermilk Biscuits:
2 c. flour (or more as needed)
2 tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 stick super cold butter in ½ inch pieces (or I grate it with my cheese grater)
1 c. cold buttermilk
Heat oven to 425° with rack in the middle.
Whisk together the dry ingredients and aerate to combine. Add butter pieces and toss to just coat them in the flour mixture. Place the bowl in freezer for 10 minutes. Use 2 knives and work quickly so as not to soften butter. Cut the butter into the dry ingredients until in pea sized pieces. Drizzle in the buttermilk and stir just until a moist shaggy dough comes together. Chill again for 10 minutes.
Generously dust a work surface with flour. Scrape the dough onto the surface and dust the top with more flour. Using floured hands, gently pat the dough into a 1 inch thick rectangle. Cut into biscuits (about 8). Put on a baking sheet about 1 inch apart. Bake until the biscuits have risen and are golden brown on top.

WOW! You stayed til the END end!
@@MeganFoxUnlocked thought everyone stayed till the end.
That was so great at the end! She did an amazing job!!
@@MeganFoxUnlocked I always stay to the end! 🙂
Thank you Megan for the beautiful videos!!! Be safe everyone and healthy Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
‘Nothing like a sick baby to put things in perspective.’ Truer words have never been said! I’m so glad everyone is okay 🙂
Health care professional here. So Tylenol is the same as what we call Paracetamol in the UK - please don't deny it to yourself or your children (using the children's dosage) . It's excellent at beinging down a fever - very important for little children - and is not addictive or has any side effects (as long as you don't overdose on it). NO ONE should think it's an evil thing. Please people, it's the 21st century and we have acess to GOOD and SAFE medication. Sometimes your body NEEDS help!!!!
I'm not sure about the UK but here in the US Tylenol contains synthetic dyes with proven links to side effects such as asthma, autism, and behavioral issues? Tylenol is currently in a lawsuit in all 50 states
@@MellowHayley5 there are no dyes in Paracetamol - can't think why a medicine would need dye in it?! Tho it's possible it's in the capsule - so can't you buy it in plain tablet form? Tylenol is a brand name - here in the UK we can buy our medicine unbranded, so Paracetamol and Ibuprofen (Advil to you) can cost us pennies! The main thing you have to be concerned about with Paracetamol is the effect on the Liver - but as long as you stay within the recommended dosage it's safe. My family take it regularly for headaches/aches and pains - and I gave it to my children when they were young to help bring down a fever. All ok - no lawsuits here in the UK.
@@MellowHayley5 we use Genexa. It has no dyes and is one of the “cleaner” options of acetaminophen.
@Ashton Clark thank you, yes. However I am speaking about specifically Tylenol which is a brand. Not generically acetaminophen. Acetaminophen is generically an element of many OTC and prescription pharmaceuticals. Tylenol in specific is in major lawsuits across the United States.
@@MellowHayley5What world do you live in?? Dye free acetaminophen has existed for a decade. Get it together.
Hi Megan! I wanted to say thank you for your beautiful videos. I found you a couple months back and I’ve been watching every week since. I’m not a Christian or a mom, but I find so much solidarity and friendship from your videos! Your honesty, kindness, and thoughtful parenting inspires me. As a full time nanny I appreciate hearing your thoughts and approaches to raising children, and as someone who is at the beginning of my small business journey I feel so inspired by your journey with Fox Sparrow and this channel. More so than anything, I am grateful for your friendship and kindness you extend to your viewers. I always feel so happy to see what you are up to, and love to multitask with you 😊. I guess I just wanted to say thank you for want you are doing. You bring so much light into my life!
Don’t second guess your instincts with your kids. God has given moms the ability to take care of out children. Also don’t forget to use grandma’s knowledge too. My mom was very helpful when my kids were young. Your doing a great job with them❤️
This is such great advice. Moms truly do have a gift when it comes to caring for our kids. Natural instinct coupled with knowing our children better than anyone else is such a valuable tool and so often underrated. Good pediatricians often ask mothers what they think in terms of how their child is doing/developing etc because they highly value and understand how well a mom can interpret their child. As moms we often second guess ourselves but we are built naturally as the first line of defense when it comes to their health and well-being. ❤
Dear sweet mom don't worry what other people say no matter how many kids you have each one is different with each one you worry differently. I've been there done that and still am. Kids are a learning process. You're a wonderful mom 💓
Isn't it horrible when your infant is lethargic- so scary. Also, your ER story just made me feel so so thankful for being Canadian. We complain about our taxes, but thinking of all the times we've used health care services without handing over a penny during- we've certainly received more than we've contributed in taxes and I so appreciate it. Access to health care is valuable ❤️ glad Miller is okay
Except you have to wait too long for needed care in many instances. We do not. You get what you pay for. Also, you're not denied care here for lack of insurance and medical bills don't go in your credit report these days.
Oh my sweet sister. My heart just went out to you to see you in tears. It's so hard to see our little ones sick. You remind me of me emotion wise. It is very therapeutic to share all of this. You and Josh are amazing parents and such a wonderful and supportive couple. Thank you for sharing your family with us.
I didn't read all the comments, but I would like to offer a small piece of advice. If you are worried about germs being brought home, always make sure kiddos wash their hands when they come home from any outing. It has helped keep germs down in our household of two boys....even now at the ages of 10 and 13. My husband and I have also adopted the habit. Anytime we come home from being out and about... we wash our hands.
,
No one should be judging you! You’re an awesome mom and there’s not a mom out there who is 100% perfect at all times. Glad it all turned out well.
Don’t be so hard on your self Megan! Motherhood is hard, unexpected sickness is hard, ER and DR situations just add extra mental pressure - you are a great mom and you inspire me (a mom of 12,10,7,&4 year old kids) thank u for sharing here!!! 💙💙💙💙
ditto ditto ditto
Agree 100%
My momma heart totally felt for you as you were in the ER. We have been there and those moments are so scary. I do the same thing as you did with not giving Tylenol before the doctor. Good to know! Our oldest started kindergarten this year and our whole family has been sick this entire fall. You’re doing a great job, momma! ❤️ thanks for sharing real life! Also loved the table decor with magnolias!
oh wow! I'm so sorry! Hopefully it is all out of your systems and you can have a healthy winter!
My mother in-laws advice was don't give them any fever relievers before you go to Dr cause they'll think nothing is wrong- good advice I never would've known as a new Mom👍
Megan your a good mama!!! You’re children are happy and healthy
There is definitely no hand book to parenting and we are all perfectly human. You are a wonderful mom! It’s actually so encouraging to see other moms being real. I look forward to your videos. Your my favorite RUclipsr. 🥰
I love Lancaster County. Haven’t been in a while, but used to come quarterly and stay at The Cork Factory. So happy your baby is better. Surely no one will judge you for doing your best. All turned out well.
The ER gives me the hebejebes also! Too many traumatic experiences in that place. Especially with a small child! God was with you and Miller every step of the way! He holds you and his other children close to him in his right hand! I have never seen so much and such a variety of delicious food at a bridal shower, before! Wow!
I loved the way you edited the part of you loading up your van for the shower!
Oh Megan~ Please don't ever doubt yourself. You are a caring, devoted and Awesome Mom. Always trust your instincts. Great vlog- so happy Miller is fine.
Your hand lettering was very nice. Glad your baby boy is feeling better. 🙂
Megan I had to pause for a moment and come leave a comment! My oldest is six years old and even now I’m never sure whether to give her Tylenol or let a fever run it’s course! And of course google tells you a million different reasons either way. You’re a wonderful Mom and we’re all doing our best! I’m so glad Miller was okay ❤
I immediately pressed like when I heard the music. Thanks so much for encouraging us again! xx
100% have done the same thing with my sick kids. It's so hard not to worry so much when you're responsible for little lives. Not a dumb mom move just a loving mom
Meghan, you are such an amazing entrepreneur. Look at all you've done and how you help your family prosper. Kinda like the Prov. 31 woman. Seems like more than a hobby to me. As an older woman who loves your channel my advice is that it's ok to be successful outside of your home too. There is a place and need for Godly women in the market place. It's exciting to watch you thrive!
Oh, my gosh! The tears just welled up in my eyes when you were in the ER with Miller. I pray that he healed quickly .
So thankful for doctors!
I, for one, love your Lancaster County recommendations! I moved here about a year ago and love the pace of this area. Your videos help me find new places to check out, so thank you very much! 🥰 So glad that Miller is doing better, sick babies are heartbreaking. I had a similar experience to the one you had when Evonnie was a baby.. I was pregnant and couldn’t speak even though I knew what I wanted to say. It was really scary, but eventually passed. Still have no idea what that was, but it’s strangely comforting to know I’m not the only one 😅
We love Lancaster County so much have been visiting for 44 years and are praying about retiring there soon,
I’m the same way, too😆 I always feel like I hold off so long, and then when I finally do bring my sick son into the doctor, he always magically feels fine and they think I’m overreacting about how sick he is. Good to know, though, because I’ve definitely held off on Tylenol before.
Let this be known that you are a wonderful mom. We all do the best we can for our children and are still learning (I am STILL learning with teenagers lol)... with my third I was still learning trust me. Not only that but each kiddo can have different reactions to the same virus so my dear, you did nothing wrong. Tylenol or no Tylenol. I do remember that even with my third child there was a time I brought her to the Dr. And they told me to always give the medication prior. We keep learning and praying and just know that you are a kind, caring, wonderful mother.
Blessings to you Megan. You are a beautiful soul. I am so sorry about your little one… praying he feels better now and health for all of your family.
I am seriously impressed by your typography!
So glad Miller is better. It is scary when they are sick at that age. Or any age. Shower looked beautiful. Loved the pumpkin shaped bread.
Megan I'm so glad Miller is doing better and it was nothing major. It is scary. My son had the flu at 3 months so I understand. Don't listen to the negative, you are doing wonderful. Praying for continued healing for Miller and good health for you all. Merry Christmas ❤️
Such a blessing that your little one is okay
Great video. I am so glad Miller is ok. You are very good parents. Parenting is the hardest job on earth and probably the most important. Thank you for sharing with us. Take care.
We just went through a very similar experience with 2 1/2 year old at the ER right before Christmas. It was horrible being there for almost 8 hours. Did the chest xray too, which was the literal worst having to strap him down to a table in a dark room. The doctors were very inconsistent with what they were saying and it felt like it was more trauma for my son than it was worth.
I have migraines. They come with or without pain, can make you nauseous, paralyze, see auras, can have auditory auras. I'm glad you haven't experienced anything beyond those 2 episodes. I'm glad Miller is doing better. Congrats on the upcoming wedding of your sister. The watercolor picture is beautiful. Gives me an idea to have one of the pictures of my late husband and I done, it would make a good remembrance picture. Thanks for the vlog. ☺️
My husband finds that he can usually head off a migraine with Tylenol (what we call Paracetamol in the UK) if he feels it coming on - he gets visual auras as a warning. Worth trying.
Don’t worry about what other people think about your Mom skills. You are a great Mom. I wish I was able to have kids and be a stay at home Mom.
Don't be so hard on yourself Megan the ER should be last resort, and even us moms of 6 feel conflicted when our kids are sick, and struggle with what s the right thing to do.
That is so crazy about the numb body thing. Because that happened to me! When my second born was only maybe 5 months old. Middle
Of the night woke up numb all on the left side of my body. Even half of my face. It was terrifying and rushed to the ER thinking I was about to die and then eventually it just let up. Nothing wrong in any of my tests. It was so scary!!! I know how you felt! 😮
Sick little ones are so stressful, especially when they're too little to tell you what's wrong! Doctors and nurses who specialize in working with kids are SO amazing...we had a big scare with #1 several years ago where the ER went like your doctor visit, screaming, thrashing, terrified baby, horrible experience. Got sent to a children's hospital and they kept her so calm and comfortable and after a good night's sleep (for her...not us) poof, she was better!
Glad the weekend ended up going more smoothly!
You are his mom and know him better than anyone! You're a good mom. These things can happen to anyone. Thanks be to God that it turned out okay!
Megan you are the reason I’m on RUclips… you always encourage and inspire me. I pray all is well with the baby…God is good I know everything will be ok! Prayers for your family💖🙏💖🙏💖🙏💖🙏
wow! Thanks for being here!
Megan, you seem like a wonderful mother! Don’t be so hard on yourself. None of us are doing it perfectly. So thankful Miller’s test were negative and praying he will continue to get better. Beautiful picture of your sister and her fiancé. Congrats to them. Love the dress you were wearing. Hope y’all have a wonderful weekend coming up. Take care and God bless y’all. 😀❤️
My kids are grown now, but I did the same thing about not giving Tylenol before going to the Dr.- I am 55 & still learning everyday. So don’t be so hard on yourself! I grew up in Pa ( closer to Pittsburgh), but your views while driving took me back- beautiful scenery!
I've neber heard of Paint Your Life ...
Thank you so much for sharing !
Love the song you included after you picked up your coffee.
Don’t let negative comments about showing ER footage get to you Megan. I love how you are so real and relatable. This is why I come back to your channel week after week. You walk that fine line of sharing your life and family without using them to promote your channel per se or generate content. My husband and I have three girls under 4 and just got through some of the roughest three weeks of our lives when all our kids got sick with RSV and Mono! One night my husband took our 8mo into the ER for the same reason - O2 levels weren’t safe but she perked up literally the moment they walked in the door. Life is hard, motherhood is hard. But you help me see and find beauty and Grace in it all. Keep up the great work and thank you for being a positive channel in a negative world. 🤍
I am loving your videos. You are helping me through motherhood. I have 3 children as well and have had a hard time in the past but working on restoring faith and becoming a better mom and wife. Thankful for your channel
I’m so happy for you and Miller he’s fine. Do not beat yourself up because you loved him enough to have him checked out. I did something similar and the cost of the ER was worth my peace of mind knowing he was alright. Hugs to you Mom and know you’re a good mother.
Hi Megan, I'm a parent of a 24 year old and your worries for them even at this age doesn't go away but the rewards and blessings you get from your children makes it all Worth it !!!! God bless you and your family.
I really appreciate your channel and I love Lancaster, ❤️. Thank you for what you do with your channel.
Don't Mom guilt yourself, you are doing a great job!
I love your recommendations!! It looks so community oriented there. You have inspired me to host more and such cool ideas!!
Tylenol is fine! I hate seeing my kids miserable! You did the right thing mama! Glad he is okay! It is scary
So glad little Miller is ok 💙
Well I’ve be binge watching since Friday🤣🤣🤣❤️ Love your Precious channel.. I Love it’s so Varied in content! So busy.. I live in Tennessee and quite close to the Mennonite Community here in Belvidere Tn.. The Swiss Pantry is my go to for so many homemade treasures. On “Doughnut Saturday “ ppl line up in rain , snow cold heat.. they Are Very Well known far and wide those doughnuts. Wishing you All a Wonderful Christmas and Much Blessings in the New Year. ❤️🎄❤️🍄🙏
So glad Miller is ok. Definitely very scary when your kids are sick. You're an awesome mother! Prayers 🙏
I’m glad he’s feeling better! It’s so scary when they are little and can’t tell you how they feel.
Sunshine is the best for healing! I was reading about 1918 "flu" one time. The patients who couldn't get a room - because the hospital was full - were on gurneys out in the sunshine. They got better faster than those inside!
FAVORITE PART: Listening to the praise music and watching the road as you drove along.
It is so difficult when our little ones are sick! I would much rather be sick than when they are!
The bridal shower and food looked amazing!
So, so glad Miller is okay! What a sweet little boy. It’s so scary when they are so small and in the hospital. I loved seeing the kids play outside with Rio (I think that’s your doggy’s name) 🥰💗 Love to all!
Praying for you and the family and I am glad that Miller is feeling better. And I love Twin Valley Coffee, September Farms, Urban Southern, Shady Maple Grocer store and Buffet!!
You are an amazing mama! It broke my heart seeing you guys in the ER. We have been there. Sometimes you just have to do what you have to do! Praise the Lord for medicine when it counts! ❤️
Oh what goes through Patents Hearts when our Children get sick...I so feel with You! I went through That two Times. Oldest one Just kept on womiting until only blood came Out. Second Time with our middle one. She fell on her head and
lost conscioussness. Very scary! And the Lord was so gracious by keeping both of them. Praise the Lord, He kept your little one. How vulnerable Life is!
Wished you would Deliver to Europe. I Like your Style! Sorry, I haven't checked If you do Deliver to Europe.
I am enjoying your vlogs. Very inspiring, exciting and nice to watch, as I am myself a Mommy at Home! Watching During cooking, naptime, getting ready and so on 😃
Good Day🌻
Love your videos and would love to visit Lancaster County! Glad your children are feeling better. Colds can be tough.
Absolutely been there done that… with the 3rd child too❤. You did your best for your baby- don’t second guess yourself. You seem like an amazing momma
What is the song that played for the scenery about halfway through? I looked online high and low and couldn't find it, but really loved it! Also really love all your content! Keep up the good work:)
Megan you are a great Mum doing a fabulous job raising your wonderful children. As Mums our ability to reflect and recognise what we would do differently next time is how we learn and grow as our children grow. Seeing our children suffering and distressed is one of the hardest things our mummy’s heart has to endure. Remember and be kind to yourself 💜
So happy Miller is well again. Very worrying for you Megan. Enjoyed your video as usual . Greetings from Australia
It's so scary when oxygen levels drop. We just had a 4 day hospital stay with our 2 yr the end of October for RSV/ bronchiolitis. The nebulizer didn't help him so he needed to stay till his levels came up. I am so glad you could come home again!
Oh dear. I always say we learn something with every doctor visit, even if we end up in the ER. The peace of mind from knowing your child's lungs are ok is worth the doctor bill!
Omigosh, how frightening that must have been! I'm so glad everything turned out okay - you are such loving parents and it shows. Don't concern yourself with judgments - we all have/have had our opportunity to raise our kids how we see fit; you do YOU Megan 🥰
Two things. I’m SO jealous of you walking around in short sleeves and 70 degrees!! I’m in Idaho and it’s been a crazy cold year. It has already gotten below 0 here and we have 3 feet of snow built up! Also your pothos plant in your dining room is so long!!
So glad your little guy is doing well! There's so much going around it can be scary. My 5m old is dealing with RSV and pneumonia and it's so tough to see them sick. ❤️
Finally off work and at home! Thursday evening is always a pure joy to me to get to watch your channel. It’s like a girl day!
Mama, you did the right thing. If he had RSV, COVID, or pneumonia and you had to race to an ER in the middle of the night with a baby in a critical state... I understand your thinking including why you held off on Tylenol. Be nice if that ER doc was your family MD! He sounds like a good communicator. So happy for you all is well. You really had a lot of responsibilities crammed in a short period of time. Time for a break and self care for you too before the holidays. I think you are pretty amazing. Wishing you all the best.
Great Video Megan and glad all worked out with your recent scare at the doctors office😳. Can you share what the name of the song that you played just before you started sharing about your planners😃👍🏼 Thank you in advance-:)
You’re doing a great job as a mother. Trust your God given instincts. We momma’s are hardest on ourselves. Praying that Miller is feeling much better by now and that you and your family stay well. God bless you!
I'm with you on letting myself suffer and be miserable instead of medicating 🤣 It's so hard to see your kids hurting, though. I'm glad everything is okay now!
I loved the worship music 🙌🏼
And keep the Lancaster recommendations… it’s so fun!!! I love it ☺️
We are dealing with the same thing in our house! My one year old has been congested and coughing for weeks (tested negative for covid/flu/rsv at the doctor) but my three year old is fine. Your situation sounds very similar! It is so scary to hear them be so congested. Praying for both of our families to be healthy in December.
Oh my! Precious Miller! Precious everyone! Love and prayers! ❤😊
Don't feel bad! We just had a similar ER visit with our 1.5 yr old toddler. It's so scary! Ours had a croupy cough and she started drooling (concerning with croup) so the nurse told me to get her directly to the ER. Lungs were clear with a negative test for Covid, RSV, and flu. Now she has nebulizer treatments and a steroid to be taking to clear up croup. I wish we didn't have to do the steroid, but we do what we must for our babies.
The bridal shower was beautiful! Very classy!
My son always got sick on Fridays at 5 pm. Drove me crazy. Sometimes it's just hard Megan. Just follow your mom instinct and Jesus. You know that already.
I love your sweet family. So thankful Miller is better.
So glad Miller is doing better. It’s so scary when little ones get sick. You’re a great mom! ❤
Feel so sorry for you all having to go to the ER😢 Remember the feeling from when my kids were small. Good to see that things are better now❤
I completely understand you ER nervousness! 💜 Our 5 year old busted his lip on the pew at church a couple weeks ago (he was STILL running around, even though I had told him not to🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️)... It was a pretty deep bust on the inside of his lip and we just weren't sure if it needed stitches or not, so we headed to the ER at 10:30pm. Thank God, the whole ER experience went very smooth and he didn't have to have any stitches!🙌🏻 His lip has healed up nicely!🙌🏻
And, thank God for Christian Healthcare Ministry! We've been a part of them for about 4 years now. They are such a blessing! 💜 Thank God for a good outcome with Miller!💜
I am so glad little Miller is doing better!! I have had two croupy babies and it is always better to be safe than sorry. So glad you had a good ER doc that was able to put your concerns at ease! You are a wonderful Mama, I really look up to you and appreciate your content. Thank you for sharing. God bless you. ❤
Stop! Stop! Please Stop!
You and your husband did great with Miller. I know it is scary, but you guys did great!
As an old man, and retired nurse, I am impressed with your response.
Steve and Brenda
Winchester Virginia
Oh my word this was my 3 yr old exactly. And she’s my 6th. The sickness that’s going around is super weird. My child had to be put on steroids and antibiotics as well. You hit this mama!
I did that SAME THING with our 6 month old last year. Our ER doctor was no good and we ended up having to stay over night. But she ended up being fine and in the end every one being okay is what’s most important.
It's such a big deal in the moment!
I love your Lancaster County recommendations! Please don't stop! Beautiful!!
Sending prayers for Miller for a speedy recovery total healing. Amen 🙏 💙
Thank you much appreciated 🥰☃️
Thanks for sharing that real life story! I can only imagine how scary that would’ve been! Nice to know that your kids get sick too like the rest of us. ❤❤
My husband had two episodes of those "half the body paralyzing" experiences as you described. But they always preceded a migraine, and the staff called them "auras." We went to the ER, too, because it's super scary. A sinus infection had triggered them, so when he got rid of the infection, the migraines and the "auras" stopped, too.
what you described with the paralysis - sounds like a variation of dead leg - when you sleep really soundly in an awkward position or just a kink somewhere it can make muscles go to sleep or spasm. The feeling eventually returns. I've had it a number of times.
LOVE your Lancaster county recommendations, we love visiting!!!!
I saw your Vlog today and I filled up for you about Miller! So glad he is on the mend! Will keep you all in prayer! You keep going and stay blessed! Don’t ever worry about what others might think about what you do or don’t do. Especially don’t beat yourself up about the Tylenol thing! You did what you thought was right at the time and now you know what to do next time. We keep learning as we go as Moms! (Even I am still learning and my kids are in their twenties! Sending hugs and prayers! 💜 Oh and I loved the piano recital at the end! She did a great job!🎉
Aw, praise the dear Lord that your sweet baby is just fine. That is SO scary. God is so faithful in those times & is surely a Friend that sticks closer than a brother. He is a very present help in time of need. I don't know how people function without Him in their lives. I call on Him so often throughout the day. Congratulations to your sister & her fiancé! Please don't ever feel bad about anything. You are a wonderful mother, and it is obvious how much you love your kids. We all do what we think is best in the moment, and we just have to leave the rest with the Lord. May He continue to heal little Miller and keep all of you in His care.
