@@PrimeVsPrime true the robot mode is limited for the deluxe price point, and gives me hope that they can make an ss voyager or leader class Quintesson some time in the future.

Yup. Just bring out a nice, non-transforming set with good articulation and a voice chip in the Judge. "Innocent". And its famous laughter when you turn the faces. Include a Sharkticon and an Allicon if you really havr to have Transformers.
Hey PvP. Have you seen the new APC Dark Master? It's like a battle damaged version of the current one and most importantly, it comes with a display canister with the severed Prime's arm. This allows you to remove Megs' arm and swap it with the arm of the Prime he took to weild the Forge of Solus Prime
Unfortunately the battle damaged Meg’s doesn’t come with the canister+arm but you can purchase it separately. One is listed under GearFactory and the other under APCToys.
This thing looks like what happens to a Guyver when the control metal is ripped from its head. I haven't found one TF One figure I like well enough to buy.
I understand why they made these figures deluxe size. For the kids. But they are going to need to bring out a leader or commander class size of this guy to do him justice
i feel like this figure would have been better if he was something like a voyager or even a leader scale so it had to size to back him up, given he is the "Main Villain" (you can argue there are 4 Main villains in the movie) and have him tower over the other figures or even able to sneak himself into the studio series lineup, honestly surprised SS haven't done a normal quintesson, not even the very least a reissue of the earthrise mold with movie accurate colors. personally i would have made this deluxe one of the Sharkticons we see flanking the commander while making a leader class quintesson to kind of tower over his invading forces of cybertron and we could army build the sharks, no idea if our heroes will fight them or not but would make an epic scene. plus with the ship modes, you could also do a mini diorama of the quintesson armada coming down on a planet
They don't really need much review as they are simple remold/repaints of ones he already reviewed. You can study the differences and there are tons of reviews out there already
I really hope this guy isn’t supposed to be one of the heads/leaders of the Quintesson race (i.e. the 5 faced Judges) , but rather this film’s version of the lower ranking Quintessons, like a prosecutor or scientist (which did only have 1 face in G1).
Personally, I was going to consider this figure to be a Quintesson Executioner (the one that pulls the lever to the Sharkticon Pit in the 86 movie; it's the arms that make the resemblance for me
I don't like this figure, the design is good, but I feel this figure is lacking a lot. Maybe a Studio Series version would improve things a lot and give the individual tentacles articulation
It just doesn’t make sense for Quintessons to be able to transform. I do like the organic sections of this design. It makes them more alien than robot. But still robotic enough since they were created by Quintus Prime. The most I could give Hasbro for making them transform is either an “Armor Mode” which is self explanatory. Another option would be jet packs for travel. And then a unique face changing method. Maybe something like Alpha Q’s unique beastly head cover/hood. It can convert to reveal a hidden 6th face. I’d also like The Scientist Quintesson as a Legacy figure. He was so unique. I’d love a feature where his brain opens and there’s his true little body. And for fun, have him work like a Headmaster and be able to take over the Headmaster figures.
I'm with you. While I like the design, the transition into toy really leaves a lot to be desired. I'd recommend folks hold out for the Studio Series version which undoubtedly will be coming down the pike at some point in the future.
Thanks for the honesty, PvP! 😊 In hand, the box itself seems heavier than the toy inside! This is a crime in-progress ~ daylight robbery! 😅 PS. Thankfully, the movie was rather good; and the Quints look seriously more badass than 'Badassatron'! 😂
I plan to buy this figure mainly to have one in my collection but the main reason I'm getting him and am planning to get multiples is because I want to have engeron cubes
This looks like its taken more inspiration from the single faced quintesson executioner/prosecuter guy from the 86 movie rather than the '5 faces' quintesson that most people automatically think off..
Despite the involved transformation, bot mode looks like a Happy Meal toy. Out of all the Quintesson designs this feels very Enegon inspired which is pretty cool as I have the original toy. I can see this being pretty awesome if Hasbro bumped him up to Leader Class in Studio Series. Transformation would still be there only the detail, and articulation could be so much better. Wonder if these guys will have the face swapping gimick as that was one of the biggest selling points as the original, and Energon versions.
Best part of this figure is the jet mode hopefully we see him go from this robot mode to jet. Personally cant wait to see what we get from 3rd party guys with customizations couse there can be some improvements but its ok the figure to me is pretty solid
With several similar design elements like the head and the very similar color scheme, I wonder if this is an intentional homage to the Guyver design from the 1991 movie? Guyver does have an interesting history with Transformers, as the designs from Guyver were the inspiration that lead Kenner to create Beast Wars back in '96. The earliest design sketches for the gator Megatron even outright used the Guyver I's head design.
I disagree with the stand. It reminds me of a cape and even though Hasbro never bothered paining the tendrils, they can be ignored from a distance. I wish it had a bit more for that $20 asking price. Hopefully we can get a voyager or leader class figure, seeing as this character seems very large.
Since we only have 2 days left, I’m actually curious if the quintesons will play a big role or not in the movie. Outside of the first trailer and this toy, we haven’t gotten any news or clips about them
They're the main baddie with not a lot of screen time but there's another baddies in this movie with more screen time and it's probably not one baddies you're expecting
MILD SPOILER ALERT I hope they revisit the Quintessons in the next movies. This character didn't really do much in the movie. I hope he's just high in ranking but not THE Quintesson judge because I would love to see those 5 faces in the big screen and it would be cool to hear them talk altogether.
I loved the War for Cyberton Trilogy through Legacy United. These new toys look like a huge step backwards and are worse quality than the Combiner Wars Trilogy.
yo pvp, i know its a bit late but i hope this message finds you. did you see the Hasbro pulse-con studio series drops? AWESOME! please make a video on the news and please try to track down and make a review for the tf one ss sentinel prime voyager class! im so looking foreword to it
I like how weird this design is. Very unique, whixh is always welcome in the framchise. Anither car would have been less interesting. It does.need a Studio Series version to really do the design justice.
Leaving their role in the actual film aside, this guy reminds me more og the executioner who pulls the handle for the Sharkticon pit with his tentacle arms than a Judge, though there's no real similarity there either. Beast Machines' Alpha Quintesson might actually be the closest in preexisting media.
Honestly, I didn't like what I saw of the Quintessons in the movie. I think they should have hewn closer to the more heavily technological designs of G1.
Everything about this figure is worse after you see the movie. the Quintesson High Commander only shows up for one scene, he is much larger than Sentinal Prime, and he most certainly does not transform into the Quintesson ship, which itself is the size of a frigate. They should have made it a larger, more articulated, non-transforming figure. Or better yet, made transforming figures of the other Cybertronian characters first, like Arachnia, she had such a cool design.
The figure does look pretty curious for what it offers, an accurate enough representation of the character, and a cool alt mode. Honestly, not a bad figure.
They should have skipped the transformation part and made it base off robot mode. This thing looks cheap as heck, like a core class figure. The detail looks cool, I see what they were trying to do, but it's been Hasbro'd.
I love the Guyver-esque colors and textures, and the transformation has many fun elements that result in a surprisingly good-looking alien ship-it feels unfinished, though. The entire "stand" could have compressed into the back and torso with a little extra engineering, and it's not hard to imagine more tendrils designed to splay so it could stand on them like spider legs. Throw in a blast effect for the "booster," then it not only looks like it's flying in ship mode but can provide that "floating" effect in its natural shape. Weirdly, the design itself feels like it was meant for a core class - it makes the kind of compromises you expect from a cheaper scale. What makes me sad is that I suspect Hasbro is going to get completely the wrong message from the inevitably poor sales of this toy. I feel like there is actually a place in the franchise for organic/alien transformers like this version of the Quintessons if they are done well - we've been needing something new for a while, but because they half-assed it, they won't realize a lot of us actually would like to see more of that kind of design. I feel like if instead of this, they had made a more complex one at the leader class full of gnarly painted details and included a few of these guys as part of his "fleet" the design compromises would have been forgiven. This isn't a high commander; this is more what you would expect from basic troops and would have been much more forgivable as troop builders sold along with a much more impressive High Commander design.
People say I'm overly negative but look at the shit they keep releasing. I'll stick with Legacy. And I'm looking forward to the new series based on the 13 Primes. But this cheap, KO, baby crap can go straight to Ollie's or the landfill for all I care. The movie may be good but these toys should be called TRANSFORMERS: THE WASTE OF MONEY! Do kids actually like this shit? Because I know back when I was a kid in the 80s I loved the earlier Transformers with Die-Cast, shiny chrome & rubber tires. But I was disappointed in the later waves that were all plastic, even the tires. I remember I loved the design of Point Blank but the toy felt cheap as hell. The plastic tires pissed me off. And this Transformers:One crap is a million times worse.

0:32 What is that? I know it's D-16 but what? An SS? As for the High Commander, it's clearly one of those toys that has one stronger form than the other like SSRotB Mirage! The ship remind me of the anime OVA Gunbuster!
I don't buy Quintesson High Commander because first it never transform into any vehicle form in any movie, even the mother ship. All Quintessons in ANY movie never transform despite all of them is mechanical alien, this one is completely organic, so it never transform, so for my personal opinion is not worth it to pick up. So my personal opinion, i don't want to pick up this extraterrestrial being attempt all of THIS ☹️.
