Kick! Punch! Its all in the mind. If you wanna test me, I'm sure you'll find, that all the things I'll teach ya is sure to beat ya nevertheless you'll get a lesson from teacher now kick.
Come on now why don't you follow my words because we're almost done I'll make it easy at first I wanna see if you wanna see what it means to be the man with the master plan are you the man now?
1wolffan Actually, trees and flowers (and all plant life) do move! Just not at the pace or in the way we pay attention to. Growth is movement, their roots are always stretching further underground and many plants shift to face the sun and bloom. And some plants (like the venus fly trap) move and react fast enough for us to notice, even.
1wolffan I think it's debateable wether or not plants are considered animate or inanimate. I just looked it up and apparently there's something called the General Animacy Scale which ranks things from most to least animate. I think this concept can easily be seen as a gradient rather than a black or white is or isnt scenario. And yes, its good to have a civil converstaion onlinen once in a while.
not really, i dont care about jirard saying that flowers are inanimate but the root of inanimate is "inanimus", which stand for something like "without soul", which in it's latin context means it is not alive. here: perseus.tufts.edu /hopper/text?doc=Perseus:text:1999.04.0059:entry=inanimus
I love how you mention Parappa's voice actor *scammed a fan* and all you say is "don't have a rap battle with this guy 'cause he'll take your wallet". That's kinda hilarious.
I've become so ironically invested in this game for it's cheesy style and obscure music that most of my friends worry that I'm actually a hardcore fan of PaRappa the Rapper
Let's be honest here- I'm not gaining many new friends if they think my favorite song lyric is "TO BE THE MAN WITH THE MASTER PLAN. ARE YOU THE MAN NOW?"
I have this game from way back when it was first released. I am not a musically inclined person, and rhythm games were not even a thing at the time, so,was not that either, but this game was a blast. This was a great party game, passing around the controller, and letting all your friends try each of the stages, laughing at the lyrics and the graphics. Pure...unadulterated....Fun.
9:40 *YOU ARE COMPLETELY WRONG* , PaRappa the Rapper is based around freestyling! This is what makes it such a unique rhythm game!!! If you're following the rhythm the instructors are giving you, you're doing it WRONG.
This series of games is honestly some of the most charming, most wholesome game experiences I’ve ever had. It has so much heart and personality, that’s the key here it has so much HEART, it’s so simple, yet so perfect. I’m shocked there hasn’t been anymore games, and we need more games like this, because they don’t make anything this charming anymore, after playing so many soulless and meh games, games that just have no heart and soul at all, games that only focus on monetizarion and you can tell are rushed out to make a quick buck, it’s SUCH a breathe of fresh air to play Parappa The Rappa, I’m not over exaggerating when I say that I remembered why I love videogames, because these games have something special I’m them, and I hope it comes back one of these days; because good lord we need it more than ever today.
So glad you liked this game! I'm glad you mentioned Elite Beat Agents too, because that was the next Rhythm Game I played alongside the Nintendo Rhythm Heaven games which are equally fun as EBA. Also, did you know that the Japanese version of Elite Beat Agents was completely reworked and was actually a lot harder than the English version? It was called Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan! and that game was ridiculously fun and hard, totally worth a completionist play through.
Fun Fact: The town in PaRappa (revealed in the second game) is called PaRappa Town but, it's not named after PaRappa Rappa (that's literally his last name) but it's actually named after the Japanese word for "Paper-thin" so, that's why him and the town are PaRappa
"Imagine having to lay some fat lyrics before checking out a jug of milk!" Employee:Okay, that's all, sir? Person:Yes. E:Sir, you'll need to rap if you want to check out. P: *Proceeds to rap sicko mode* E:Alright, have a nice day!
@@Helicopter7 Jirard was at one point doing a fitness thing on his channel. He hasn't really returned to it but he was doing a lot of exercising and working out. He called it Buff Bois.
I was about... 7 (2004) years old when I first tried to play this game. Once I figured how to play, I loved it! In the past, I could never get passed Cheap Cheap. I’m struggling again with that BIH!
I don't know why but I'm kinda happy you mentioned and know about what the voice actor did. I read all about it when the remaster came out and it's just insane what he did.
PaRappa The Rapper has became into a cool cult-videogame. Nice work by talking about not mainstream videogames; something by being mainstream doesn't mean it's the best.
Never been a fan of this series or the studio's rhythm games, but Im glad you enjoyed most of the experience! There is so much great music in all of Nana's games, you just have to get around all of the jank. Vib Ribbon is definitely a fun play, especially if you play it on PS3 and just spend a night putting in random CDs to play with!
Enjoyed the hell out of this episode! That random freestyle in the office had me dying! I wanna see Guitaroo Man, Rhythm Heaven or Elite Bear Agents somewhere down the road..
It's not so much PaRappa is ultimately trying to change who he really is.... It's that he's trying to grow and better himself by finding out who he really is.
My favorite rhythm game is Rhythm Heaven Fever. I actually managed to almost complete this one, despite not being a Completionist. It's definitely worth completing, in my opinion.
This game was AWESOME!! Me and my crew in sophomore year of college would get blazed out of our mind and play this non-stop. I was the only one who was able to beat it and it was like a I just scored the touchdown to win the Super Bowl when I did. The whole dorm was going crazy. Yeah, I know, but there was not much to do in the freezing cold of winter in Albany...
They missed the opportunity to call it PaRappa the Rapper: the Remasta

Kept expecting Jirard to end this review saying... "And that's a Rap!"
Please. All the creativity is out of Jirard's videos ever since Color Trash, in my opinion.
Dwane Dibly color splash is incredible. Much better then sticker star of course, but it is better than, dare I say it, thousand year door.
Um, no. Color Splash is easily the worst in the series, by far. Name ONE thing about that's good. Spoilers: there's nothing.
nightmare27and_friends Color Splash was ok, but have you seen Super Paper Mario? It's honestly incredible.
"Cool changes at random" so it's the most realistic representation of "cool" ever

God damnit Jirard.

The past few days I've been getting confirmation that yeah, it's not just me. The rhythm detection is super janky.
Yea you have to hit the buttons early
And they didn't fix it in the remaster
the second one is alot more polished with the rapping system and cool system.

The MLG sonic564 If you like Rhythm games at all I really recommend it.
I’m disappointed in him...
I haven't, but I really want to.
He needs to play it
Rhythm Heaven is super fucking good and I recommend it to anyone reading this, you won't regret it
I still hate that fucking chicken level. That chicken was obnoxious.
Worst level of the game to beat. I think I played through that 2 minute song at least 50 times.
Barbatos Kun Its because someone called her a little turkey, but she's a chicken got it? Ya beef jerky!
From what I heard the timing for that level was off in the remaster
Dakota Metzgar seems fine to me
That One Video Gamer it's because of the off beat it's bullshit I know it's a vintage rhythem game but fuck thst off beat
"I wish it was on sync" the issues of HDTV lag man.

Two words: Vib Ribbon. Play it. You will love it.
Olivia Smith That game is literally infinite.
Last time I checked sentences ended with a period, so it is actually two words.
Two Words: Custom Music. Sereously. You can add SiivaGunner Music if you downloaded it. THAT'S AWSOME!!! (Oh and BTW. I DID use 2 Words. Check again.)
Noah Goldberg you mean to tell me i can play it with it has to be this way from metal gear rising playing in the background?
Dang it, wheres my wallet
I can't imagine what hell kind of level the game would generate if you played Metal Gear Rising music on it. :P
