As I was insulating and hanging foam board I put a piece of foil tape off to the side on the inside skin of the van while I did something else😮 then when I went to reach for that piece of foil tape three of my fingers touch the tape one of them touched the skin of the van without the tape without the tape😮 the pinky without the tape literally burned😮 so then I spent the next 24 hours putting foil tape in various places on the inside skin of the van in different temperatures different sunshines and so forth😮 once I realized that the Radiant Barrier works better outside in terms of keeping the heat out I pulled every bit of the insulation I had already completed back out and put foil paper on that foam board and then put it back up towards the ceiling. The only part left the needs foil tape for foil foam board is the sliding door😮 the jury is still out on whether or not a vapor barrier is a good thing or not but I can damn sure tell you that if I had to do this whole thing over again❤❤❤ I would have sprayed the entire interior of the van with shiny silver paint and then I would have paid somebody to spray cell foam it❤ the walls in the Cabinetry are going in and the house is going up for rent🎉🎉

If you get some sheer or laced curtains it will give you more privacy when you open up your back doors and people can't just see straight through your van. Yet you will still be able to see out as well.

I have a portable AC that I have to see how much it drains a battery (I have a jackery) but it is 'energy efficient" so here's hoping cuz it's a pretty good one and I do worry about that for starting van life. I live in Phoenix and I hate the heat! That's why I want to get into van life, it's my only way out so that maybe, just maybe I will NEVER EVER spend another summer here! I CANNOT STAND being hot...I have never gotten used to it...I'm 48 been here since I was 6! Everyone is different...my mom LOOOOVES the heat, so she ain't never leavin'! lol
Yeah the heat in Phoenix will never make sense to me. I personally can’t take it lol, I was looking into the zero breeze but that’s very expensive so for now we just drive with windows down and rub cold water on the forehead 😂
