The Terminator (Sega CD) playthrough

- In my opinion the best game that is based on the first film, though some of the music seems out of place for a Terminator game. Overall this a fairly solid title that compliments the movie rather well.
I love this sprite of Kyle Reese in a trench coat. It's one of my favorite sprites ever for sure.
I missed the part of the first movie where Kyle Reese goes on a shooting rampage of all the punks in LA.
would be awesome to see if it was a scene involving him not wanting any trouble lol
Yeah, I feel like those enemies would've been more appropriate in a Terminator 2 game.
It's in the new Terminator Special Edition.
Sounds like you missed out, that part was amazing.
Punks and Dave Mustaines by the look of it
I’m 37 now. This game was awesome back then, and one of the best music scores in a game period! 🤟🏻
i like the music in this game
+Lt.Dan The game has decent music but some of the tracks just feel out of place imo.
@@MrRhubarbo just like hard truck 2 final..i mean king of the road music.. u hear it u love it
@@MrRhubarbo I agree, the music is good but so out of place since the first level...
The only good thing about sega cd was time music the video was worse than DVD quality.
Thanks so much for posting this. It's such a 'CD' feature that each level starts in silence while the audio track loads on the disc.
AWESOME game and AMAZING play through. What a great gem for the Sega CD. Hopefully now the system will get more respect as a retro system.
I love the music, and I'd go as far to say it's the best music in a 2d side scrolling game from the 1990s. Sure, it's out of place for being branded Terminator, but if you can look past that, see it as a run and gun Contra style game, you'll notice for the most part the soundtrack is epic. To each their own.
+Michael Douglas I agree ..bad ass tunes in this game
Michael Douglas while i agree it has some good tracks, i highly recommended castlevania symphony of the night for the best 2d side scrolling soundtrack of the 90s
Michael D I KNEW I WASN’T THE ONLY ONE WHO THOUGH THIS SOUNDTRACK BELONGED IN A CONTRA GAME!
The music does not match the game but at least it's real music.😄🙃
Boooy... Tallarico bombed this game with his soundtrack 🤩🤩
I still have my copy of this for Sega CD. It was one of the best soundtracks to a game I had ever heard and the game itself was actually very fun! Kinda makes me wanna break out the old Sega CD and play this!
But does not match that game but yes it good that's the only thing the sega cd was good for though.😒
@@alexander2685 dunno about that the Sega CD had some really good games, Sonic CD, Lunar 1 and 2, Dark Wizard just to name a few.
excellent walkthrough
awesome game and music
RESPECT!!!! GOODJOB !!!!1111!!!!
So different from its Genesis version (that I never managed to finish despite my turbo controller)! Never knew it existed and never seen before today.
We can clearly see the boost in the audio/soundtrack as well as the extra grainy cinematics. Shame the SCD didn't add more colors on-screen. It was just too advanced for its time.
Thanks for the full game hookup! ☻
just discovered this version, super awesome
I have been playing games for over 35 years now. I must have played thousands of games across 6 generations (3rd-9th) including Terminator CD. Everything from a technical standpoint has improved exponential...minus the sound. I don't know what it is about these old CD based games with Red Book audio but they sound so much cleaner too me than anything we have seen since. While new games today can do full audio playback with Blu Ray quality sound I think the CD audio sounds better and I don't know why? Does anyone else feel this way?
*I like how Kyle Reese has a rapid firing flame shooting shotgun.* 😂
The Amazing Beanie-Man john connor technics man!
Well this definitely looks better than the SNES version.
I like that "Cybernetic Organism" remix in the Tech-Noir club stage
God, I love the music of this game!
Such a great game. So many memories. Great job!!!
Gotta love the techno remix in the Tech Noir level.
Kinda funny how in the footage from the movie, they couldn't actually show Arnold Schwarzenegger.
But at least Arnold appears in title screen. 😂😂😂
32:30 RIP Sarah.
lol ikr, Reese just decided to fuck off with the elevator leaving Sarah to fend for herself XD
she was terminated LOL
I'm going to say it like this not only does this game have good graphics it has an amazing soundtrack and I bet the game is just good
You can drop bombs on enemies below you, if you press the bomb button while climbing.
Excelente gameplay! No conocía este juego, sólo la versión de Sega Génesis y la de Super Nes. Pero me doy cuenta que fue un buen titulo. Mención especial para la música y los efectos de sonido... se notaba claramente la capacidad del “disco compacto" en la Mega CD. Saludos!
Good game! But they didn't mention the Reese's death.
Anyway, i liked it
I know right? Kyle Reese is supposed to be dead before Sarah destroys the Terminator! But other than that, this is still a solid game. Much better than either the NES or SNES versions.
Funny with how the Genesis version mentioned that Reese was "dead" during the ending of the game, yet was apparently alive and well when you beat it though! (L.O.L.!) The Super NES edition was the only one which truly got that right, when he died with the Terminator after you blew him up too.
My ears came to the ost.
I do agree that some of the music is a bit out of place, but that doesn't hurt the game AT ALL for me. Music is still awesome and that ain't bad :)
Really awesome game. I never had Sega CD growing up. I know it was not around very long.
the music sounds like mario kart rainbow road when you are in the police station
Sarah: Oh kyle it's terrible that the terminator killed all of those people back at the police station.
Kyle: Uhhh yeah the terminator did that. Like i said they're killing machines (nervous laugh)
This game is expensive and rare
Killer soundtrack, loved it.
the song at the 34 mark gameplay sounds like mortal kombat
What a soundtrack
Looks good for a sega cd game but most games where so grainy for me so I end up selling it with the 32 x glad I did now sega master system and genesis i still have and glad I do.😁
5.000 thugs and.. the terminator.
In a world where we are seemingly ripped off at every turn, or having to listen to shameless public service announcements such as: "remember to wear masks when you return to movie theatres", or any other wrongfulness (including being subtlety pressed to make such complaints in the first place!)... ..perhaps Sega CD terminator is the perfect "saving grace salvations" ,,,or at least it gives us a really good idea of who the good guy leaders of society should be! ("they do good for sake of doing good" + "they get it, they know how to have fun" + "they rock dude!") Excelsior to all "goodies" ✌️😘😘😘🤗
I would use that soundtrack if it meant Wolfchild getting a remake
BGMがかっこいいゲームにハズレはない。
Wow this looks awesome!
The music is cool but I wish they made the music more dark and gritty using the movies music.
I remember been astonished by the soundtrack back then. Still good but should be more like the movie. Still think how they managed to use parts of the movie that shows the faces.
Kyle Reece out here killing more humans than any Terminator......ever. In a game called The Terminator, Why did we never get to play as 'The Terminator.' ????🤔
The shotgun sounds much better on the mega drive version.
30:04 Welcome to the news of Formula 1, from the 1992 season!!!. Good evening Jack, haw ar yaaa?
What the hell was Tommy thinking with this soundtrack? Also think this game was recycled into Alien 3 and RoboCop VS Terminator
NYG5 Robocop vs Terminator is a billion times better than this game..
Yeah I know but the environments are practically the same. It shares sound effects too. I even think the terminator animations are the same when he gets knocked down.
+K1NG M1DWAY That's because Robocop vs. Terminator had music that actually fit the game and the action was a 1000 times more intense.
The fact that you don´t see the press crunching the t800 is an anticlimax.
i love mission 3 music but it doesnt fit the level action
And all this time I thought Reese died
5:18 lol got em
Way better than Terminator NES don't you think?
Yes. The NES sucks even it follows the movie pretty well (i think). If only Sunsoft didn't lose the Terminator license, Journey to Silius/Rough World will become best Terminator game on NES.
42:40 You’re terminated funker.
awesome fucking soundtrack!!!
what track play in tech noir ?
RUclips Movies wants £4.99 if you want to watch the movie. You can get the DVD for 50p.
THE TERMINATORN
The future war stages are good but it looks like they didn't know what to do with the 1984 setting. I don't understand why there wasn't a driving stage after the nightclub and/or the police station, that's the easiest part of the 1984 setting to adapt to a game
Super NES version at least had two on-rail shooters segments.
S/O to the AVGN
6.17 soundtrack name?
the postal 1997 of sega Cd
i like it.. but i still feel that they could have thrown out the first level of the factory in favour of something like the tanker pursuit, or in fact any of the chase scenes from the movie. that and it always bugs me with every version that kyle survives the ending, and is either written off as dead (as in the mega drive version), or literally not addressed in any way whatsoever!
still, much better than any of the crappy games that terminator 2 had. (the exception being the arcade game.)
Alex Saiko I know, the final level should have you playing as Sarah trying to escape the crawling Terminator.
He does die when you beat the Super N.E.S. version though. That's the only T1 game which actually shows that happen also, for what it's worth too.
@@freakyfornash Thanks for letting me know, I just went and checked it out. Bit of an unceremonious death (and unintentionally funny), but props to the developers for trying
@@noname-in3hi It was kind of funny how the other T1 games say Reese "died" when you beat them, even if he was alive and well when you did so though! Anyone who played, and finished them first without watching the movie wouldn't have had the slightest clue as to why that was the case, and imagine Mario "dying" without actually doing so if you successfully completed the Super Mario Bros. games for example also! (L.O.L.!)
Anyway to play this game on game boy or Nintendo wii ??
Anthony C You can emulate it.
it still utterly befuddles me that you play as kyle reese. wouldn't it be more appropriate to play as dr. silberman?
Lol that would be a trip! Earl Boen could subdue his enemies by curling up in the fetal position.
So wait, the "Nerd" didn't actually know how to play the game?
The music has nothing to do with the concept of the movie. It dosnt transmite the horror. This is not Megaman MDFKRS
Well, looks like Sega got the good Terminatior games! Lol Nintendo Terminator games suck so bad...and I'm a nintendo guy...
The music in the game, not concidering the ost at the beginning, doesnt add anything to the game when it comes to that gritty Terminator feeling
Good music but genesis ver looks better
the music is actually horrible. mostly makes no sense with the game. i mean listen to the tune at 23 mins or whatever. What the hell.........this is a terminator game..... then the tune in tech noir with lines of the movies sampled. Rubbish.
+Milk Carton Yep, I agree entirely. Most of the music just feels out of place.
Yep, atrocious. Listen to the Contra: Alien Wars soundtrack right after this... my god.
A lot of it sure doesn’t fit in a Terminator game, but it is still kickass music!
But its cool
Not horrible. They're just don't fit in the terminator things, especialy that police station stage music, but except the musics in future wars stages. I think those stage musics fits the future wars atmosphere, especialy future shock.
Sorry if my english sucks.
Oh yeah once I heard the club music this is the worse game compared to the mega drive sorry game
Awesome
