- Still the most potent muscle car offering on the street, buyers quickly realized that sending over 700 horsepower to the only the rear wheels meant lots of traction issues. Realizing this issue, Dodge adds wider tires all around and the same body kit and fender flares from the even more ridiculous Demon. The result is still the 2018 SRT Hellcat Widebody, a muscle car with lots of tail happy shenanigans, but slightly better handling and a little more grip.
Hey guys! Please keep in mind this a car review, when we mentioned how this car is a “middle finger” to all the conservatives, we weren’t referring to ones political beliefs, but more to those who would find the outrageous power and showy design of this car to be pointless. Perhaps we should have said, “tree hugging” environmentalist instead lol. Just wanted to clarify this!

Mike Perez I’m not sure about the reason. But Canada generally has less options and trim levels. Sometimes we can’t even have a beige interior for some cars.

Visibility is garbage? I own a challenger and its not that bad at all, you should see the visibility of the Camaro and you'll quickly realize how good the visibility in the challenger is.

Hellcats are awesome. Love the adjustability, when in street mode, they are quite compliant over bumps and potholes, while in sport or track, they are firm with minimal body roll and a surprising amount of grip through the turns. Couple that with the superior brakes they feature, along with a real backseat and sizable trunk, and it's a great car for everyday use that can still whoop most any other sub-$100K vehicle on the road!

It uses the front suspension design of the old E-Class (same 5-speed auto before 2015)
Ah I see. Its not like its a bad chassis or suspension, but it just surprised me Daimler-Chrysler stuff was still in use.
Yeah I'm not saying its a bad thing. I drive a 2005 Merc CLK, which is also based on the e-class. Just took me by surprise that its still in use. Its super interesting.
The chassis has its pros and its cons. Didn’t know about the safety part but for weight it’s not good. Relatively heavy cars is bad for FE, parts, and drivability. Word on the street is, for the next gen it won’t adopt the Alfa platform but the current Maserati platform but then the redesign will go on a new platform that I don’t know of yet. Heard this on autoblog.com.
Do you want to say the Grand Cherokee is bad also? Because it's also re-using the current gen Mercedes ML platform, and gets good reviews
Your in street mod, you should have put it in sport mode or track mode. Shifts and suspension completely change the Characteristics of the car .Good review
Call what you want but this is one of the most exciting cars out and i have one. Not a challenge a charge and it's not a widebody but still lots of fun. Who has a demon or a viper, we car trade.

The platform is all Chrysler and was derived from the front wheel drive LH series. The suspension was taken from the Mercedes E class and was mostly replaced/fully updated since its birth in the early 2000s.

About those red/black keys? So if you're driving with only the black key with you, the car will only have 500HP? What if both keys are in the car? I'm assuming it goes based on the key that started the car?
Pretty disappointing driving portion. Why partial acceleration runs on a curvy road? Head to the nearest on-ramp and nail it up to 100!
We actually agree with you on that, unfortunately our time with the car was limited and we had to film the GTR Nismo back to back with this car. We had only 2 hours to do it so we just didn't have the time to find a more open road and we were also in an area we were unfamiliar with so finding a good road takes time. We plan to do a follow up video once FCA gives us this car for a longer period in our home town.

Mustang hasn't been a muscle car for a while. Too small, too light, and much more focused on track times than drag strip times. Muscle cars are built for a straight lines. Ford is built for the track.
As long as you can unlock the door by just having the key nearby. Can anyone unlock the door the same way? Meaning if you're stopped at a light and someone comes to the door. Could they unlock and open the door while you are sitting in the car?

Hey man, I don't agree with your taste in cars and as a former collegiate linebacker I am about 100 pounds heavier than you (you fit in a lot of cars that I could get into but could not get back out) but I love your reviews and look forward to hearing your opinions. I went in to buy a hellcat in 2016 but ended up with a 2016 scat pack. The hellcat is awesome but not practical as a daily driver - 485hp is more than enough and the people I know with hellcats drive them like they are freekin Evil Knevil which is not my style. Anyway I wish that FCA would make the 305's standard on all of the 392's and Scat Packs too since they also get real tail happy! keep the great reviews coming bro! After watching this I am suddenly inspired to go do a couple of burnouts!

I daily drive my 2016 Hellcat and I have about 900 rwhp in the thing. The key is not to stomp the pedal. Then it runs just like a normal sedan -- only it still looks bad ass. This is a muscle car. I don't even consider modern Mustangs or Camaros muscle cars. This is a great straight line drag car that, after you're done running it, you can load up with groceries and the rest of family and go on a road trip. It's like driving your living room. If you happen to have an awesome living room.

What would happen if you brought both keys would you have 300 hp or 707 hp
As long as the red key is present, you can select between three power levels, valet gives 300, street gives 500, or max power of 700+. If only the black key is present then you cannot select maximum power.
