When my aunt lost her husband the year twilight was released she used to tale me to see it in theaters SO much. She saw it in theater over 119 times and to this day since she has passed every single time I see it I'm reminded of her and the good times we had together bonding over this series.
A generational moment for sure. I remember sitting in the theater and this exact same thing happening. Movies like this and the grudge made movie watching an absolute experience.
I hated Twilight when it came out purely because of these reactions, but I randomly ended up watching the first movie, got intrigued, and read the books and loved them. Now I'm a total Twi-hard. The story is just as gross, yet fascinating as Romeo and Juliet.
I remember watching this Movie with my Dad when it was released... Yeah you read it right... We saw the Poster outside of the Cinema and thought, hmm it kinda looks like Dracula or something, maybe we should check it out. And so we did. At the time we didn't knew anything about it, nobody was talking about the movie, it was just like any other regular film, nothing too special. Then halfway through the film right where the dude starts shining or something my Dad and I both look at each other and said, well this isn't Dracula. Then we left the cinema. I mean, maybe the "Underworld" movies influenced our expectations, given those movies where also pretty hot at the time, still, everytime my Dad and I remember that day, we always end up laughing. It's one of those memories I'll Alway cherish. Because it taught me to read the reviews before trying a new movie.
