When I worked at Acura in the late 90's the NSX was $91,000 MSRP. Todays money that's $154,000. The Type S NSX started at $169,500 and came with a $6000 carbon roof which was an option 2017-2021. Add the lightweight package and your at $183,000. Not sure why people say it's overpriced. I own the NA1 & the Type S in LBBP and love them both. Very underrated indeed. The problem with the NSX is that it came out 5 years too early. Ferrari, McLaren and Mercedes are copying this exact turbo v6 hybrid formula and everyone is singing their praises for it.
Feel like the biggest problem of the car when it first came out was the price. I remember seeing dealers post them for almost 300k when they came out. If they were affordable I’m sure there’d be so many of them on the road
@@alexanderpsaras5663 Right? People forget the 90s dream cars were cheap IN COMPARISON to the stuff coming out of Europe at the time. It's still a great buy, but people definitely got the shaft paying markups on these cars, or any car, really.
@@ThatDudeinBlue when the C8 Corvette came out, I felt like it was what everyone was waiting for the NSX to be. All they needed to do was copy and modernize the original. A more exotic DOHC J35+six speed from the Accord in a body around 3,000 lbs and release it in 2010. Done.
@@ThatDudeinBlue Im with you David, They shouldve went for C8 pricing and they would have killed it. Do a base rear wheel and then awd versions. I LOVE the NSX 8k paint jobs tho 🤤🤤🤤🤤. Check out AMMO NYC detailing channel tour of the factory paint shop, OMG!! 16 mils of paint if not mistaken!!
@@mtnman1984I think J series are garbage but honestly if that was real a car I'd probably still buy one. Worst case scenario you still have a really nice chassis to swap any other Honda platform engine into (or some crazyshit like an LS idk).
100% did not deserve the hate. The only people that don't like it are the people that can't afford it. The car did exactly what the first one did: supercar performance with Honda reliability. The first car was expensive (for its time). This car is expensive. It's cutting edge tech and processes and that stuff ain't cheap.
I can only speak for myself, but lets say I had "winning jackpot money", new nsx would not be a car I'd ever consider. 97-01 would definitely be a purchase without a doubt.
I'm sorry, but comparing the original NSX to this one is like comparing Monica Belucci to Barbar Streisand. It is not even in the same universe. The new one is simply beautiful compared to everything else., and I am not even a Honda fan...@@InTheZone85
This car will be one of those. Terrible sales numbers new. But slept on in a decade and the values skyrocket. I hope someone views this comment in 10 years
@Dal42069 Yeah, that is also very true. To be honest with you, the Corvette C8 feels more like the successor of the NSX than Acura. Overall, both of these cars are really good, in my opinion.
I think the reason you would get the nsx over say a ferrari or a lambo is, reliability. And usability. But i agree it is a tad outrageous i think I’ve seen two of them in the wild since they debuted.
That's kind of a flawed mindset when it comes to sports cars like Ferraris and Lamborghinis are they usually have pretty good warranties like Ferrari has a 7-year one so reliability really isn't a concern until it's a 15 year old used car this is a sports car not a family sedan
Everyone missed the point on the new NSX it did the exact same thing as the old one. Everyone hates it because it added new tech (oooh so scary). I bet if everyone would say the same if if was the 90s with the original
@@boofingenthusiast It’s the new one. She is in her 60s and owns a NSX, C7 Zr1 and a C8 Zo6, mint 03 mystic cobra and a bunch of other cars. She owns a big collision shop and is cool asf. The NSX is really impressive in person, I think anyways.
I personally feel the NSX is overhated, and was just ahead of its time, I mean look at almost every supercar coming out now, they are all hybrids, the Mclaren Artura, Ferrari 296 GTB, Lamborghini Revuelto. All these cars supercars are now hybrids years after Acura did it first, I think the NSX was a sad case of just being too early to the market, before the market was ready
I really like them, but they priced them way out most people’s reach. We all wished it was a $70k more simplified car, but following in the NSX’s path is that it was extremely innovative for the 90’s.
Haters gonna hate because it's that good. My 2019 is nice, but my 2022 Type S is NAUGHTY! Until you driven these you can't understand what they have to offer. The only car I can compare it to is the Porsche 911 Turbo S I drove, but this gets more looks and will be worth much more one day because they only made 350. I am honored to own these and almost parted with my 2019, but I couldn't do it. I have tracked the 2019, but the weight is an issue going through a set of tires in 3 track days, but with a 700hp tune I did keep up with a GT3 at Watkins Glen.
They developed an N/A 5.5L V10 for this car originally, but changed their minds and went with the turbo/hybrid instead. There's video of it testing on the Nürburgring.
I think the reason the newer NSX kinda flopped is that there was nothing separating it from its rivals. At that price point there are much faster and arguably better looking cars to choose from. That being said its still a sweet ride that fits the dailyable super sports car bill perfectly. I think you gotta see it irl to really appreciate it. Older NSX is still my dream car tho car
"At that price point there are much faster and arguably better looking cars to choose from." That sounds suspiciously similar to what the Lexus LFA went through when it came out.
I own both cars. until you actual drive one you won't realize how much ahead its time Honda was. this car is amazingly fast and I have tracked it with every other supercar.. this Car is A beast. And Honda made less that 3k of these worldwide. great investment
Great video and beautiful type S. The NSX is definitely misunderstood and one of the most underrated cars of all time. I never considered this car when it came out because of the price. Like many others, I also thought the hybrid powertrain added unnecessary weight and complexity. This tends to be the view point of people who have never driven one. Several months back I was cross shopping 911 Turbo S and R8 V10+ and came across a second generation NSX by chance. I was blow away by how good the car looked in person. After one test drive I bought it on the spot. My favorite aspect was how the car could completely change feel with the different driving modes. Valved exhaust, valved intake, suspension, throttle response and steering all change with each mode. Sadly, these settings can’t be changed independently from the presets, but in quiet or sport mode the car is a very comfortable cruiser with great visibility, the same as any other Acura. In Sport + or track it feels like a proper race car. The hybrid power train is something you have to experience to appreciate but it is one of the defining characteristics of the car so I would not wish it away after experiencing it. The electric motors fill in torque down low eliminating turbo lag, they provide independent active torque vectoring up front and they keep momentum between shifts making for the smoothest shifts I’ve ever felt. It has a 9 speed transmission by the way, not 7. When shifting automatically it won’t go above 7 in sport plus or track mode but you can still shift in to 8 or 9 manually when cruising on the interstate. At 200 or 300K these cars are hard to rationalize compared to the other options in that price range so it’s understandable why they failed to get market traction but clean low mileage like new NSX can be found in the 120s or 130s now. When you compare it to the other alternatives in this price range (I test drove most of them) this car suddenly makes a lot more sense.
I love how some people hate on the NSX or new Supra because it’s the same as the old, stupid to think that way and it’s shame because it’s a different time and better tech people need to appreciate these for what they were because they are fantastic
I find it intresting how dodge brought back the challenger, ford the gt40, and chevy reinivented the corvette and they all sold well and are loved by the cuetomer base, manwhile toyota brought back the supra and acura brought back the nsx just for them to flop. Some manufacters just dont understand who theyre selling to
I’ve actually really liked the standard Gen 2 models looked so it looked quite sharp but not overly edgy compared to many cars these days. That said I’ve been around them and it’s so sweet and interiors are so nice
Hey David, love your videos man & I love the NSX. At 9:36, did you just said "It has a 7 speed auto" cuz I'm pretty sure that the 2nd gen NSX has 9 speed DCT, right?
I think the price was not too bad(other than dealer markups). At the time of release, the only hybrid performance cars were the holy trinity (P1, Laferrari, 918) that were close to $1 million. You got a car with the same ethos of those 3 for a fraction of the price, relatively speaking of course. And on top of that, the Honda reliability/build quality. Also, a lot of journalists who reviewed this car all kinda had the same idea: very good car, but not for the price. Now that it’s gone, there’s no doubt that these will skyrocket in price used, just like Hondas other discontinued sports cars.
I remember Jason Cammisa commenting on the car's torque vectoring at the time, he said that while it improved the handling it made the steering feel completely numb. Apparently they had to mute the steering down so the torque vectoring doesn't rip the wheel out of the driver's hands!
Honestly I never liked the look of the old NSX when I was younger. I grew into though when I met a guy who had one in Championship White. He was genuinely excited about it. I thought it was cool. Then it got totalled and he bought a Supra. This was back when they were cheap. He found another NSX that was black. I immediately fell in love with that car and he sold the Supra to a buddy of mine so it stayed in the fam. The old NSX in black is timeless and I want one. I've also seen the new NSX. It's the prettier car. Honestly I hope sales tank so I can own the new one. I don't even want to drive it fast. It just looks that good. Unfortunately you don't see them so I see them going the way of the LFA unfortunately Edit: for everyone thinking I'm crazy I didn't find the old NSX attractive, I was alive when it came out and the poster children were the Countach, Testarossa, Viper, Calloway Corvette, F40... The NSX was awkward in a room full of beauty queens lol. It was the rear end. You can't catch the car at all angles like you could the others and call it pretty
I have to admit I already kinda dug the new NSX before the Type S was introduced then I really liked it. I still prefer the OG NSX by a large margin. It’s looks still hold up today. I had the opportunity to drive one a lot back in the day because I was dating a girl who’s parents had one and they loved me. I miss the car more than the chick😅
Yea I'm pretty sure everyone was expecting the NSX to be what the NSX Type S is. There was no way they were ever going to make it a manual for 70k. Car was always going to be at least 6 figures and automatic (just faster than a manual) and especially with the hybrid drive system. The Type S fixes everything that was wrong with the front end of the regular NSX (did you know they had THREE different types of hexagonal lattice grill on the front end of the second gen NSX? WHY!?). Honda/Acura definitely made tons of mistakes with the second gen NSX, and not just in styling. It's just unfortunate that car companies don't ever seem to listen to their actual customers and culturally popular cars end up getting cancelled in the end.
I own an NA1 and have driven an NC1. I completely agree that the tragedy is the under appreciation for the NC1. It is bad azz and hope to own one someday.
If i had that kind of money and i could afford one id buy one. To me it isnt about how u can get the same or more for much less its about being different. I have never even seen a newer nsx on the road where i live
I completely agree I would buy it also if I had the money for it too a lot of people on here have generic mind sets and would rather get lambos and Ferraris why get something that everybody in this whole world wants instead of just being different and getting something that not everybody has the newer nsx is slept on But I actually like that because it’ll be easier to get since not that many people want it I used to like lambos as a child but once I grew up I felt like they became overrated every rapper, singer, and actor has one but not that many have a nsx this car doesn’t deserve the hate it gets
The appeal of the first gen like you said was that it was punching under its weight class, it was a better deal. You got a better or equally performing car for a fraction of the price. Today not so much. With how rare the 2nd gen is I think it will be looked back on fondly in the future but not right now.
Should've just been released with the V10 they were testing years before release. Making it a V6 and a hybrid were death blows. At the very least it should've been what the NSX GT3 was, TTV6 with RWD. They literally ruined a great opportunity to pickup where the LFA left off.
Price on these is what hurt them. I’m not even saying they weren’t worth the ask… BUT much like the later years of the R35 GT-R, when the price is near/meets that of a new 911 Turbo, AMG GT, R8, some Huracans, etc.; people who have the means to either cut the check or finance that amount don’t tend to view the Acura in the same light. Whether that’s accurate is irrelevant if they refuse to buy the cars for that belief.
The newer NSX exterior was designed by an American team fwiu, and i think thats my issue with the way it looks. It looks like a Lambo just had some S660/Honda influence lol. Some multinational designs have been great, but this one just didnt have that JDM simplicity or eccentricity, something i think at least the visual design of say the new Z and the GR Supra (visually, obv not the powertrain lol) have, respectively.
Acura NSX is a better driving car than most sports/supercars, the only reason why it isn't selling is just brand recognition. Most people, including sports/supercar buyers don't really know anything about cars, they are buying the the shape, the color, the badge, the switches and dials, they really don't understand what a great steering, great driving position, or a great engine feels like. My 10th gen Accord Touring feels better than most sedans double the price, but it won't sell for more because "it's just a Honda".
What about a RWD, manual v6 would've been an "NSX"? Sounds like something Ferrari did 50 years ago, not something New or eXperimental Regardless, the old NSX' had the same MSRP when adjusted for inflation, this was the perfect modernised NSX, most people just don't know what the old NSX was past how it looks
The C8 is everything the NSX wished it could be. The C8 Eray for half the price renders the NSX completely obsolete and overpriced. I’ve driven the second gen NSX and many R35 and greatly prefer the R35. I also prefer the sound of the R35 to the V6 in the NSX. The NSX looks beautiful but that’s about where my compliments for the car end. The only people that like the second gen NSX are the diehard Honda apologists that live in a bubble.
To be fair, the 92 type r is basically the same price as the 22 type s after inflation adjustment. 🤷♂️ It is absolutely expensive and the car (everything) market is fubar but it isn’t like they made it 400k. I’m just disappointed that I’ll never own a single car I’ve ever liked. They either don’t exist anymore or they cost as much as a small house. 😭
The original 90's NSX Type S was soooooo amazingly, beautifully, gorgeously, pimptastically, created that these new people nowadays can't comprehend...The NSX has always been Uber Bad$$
IMO the 2nd gen NSX doesn't look bad especially with the new type S package, and it performs super well... But the electric components and batteries that made that possible added a ton of weight. There's just so much technology packed into the 2nd gen... All this stuff can make this car a very comfortable high performance DAILY DRIVER. BUT the lack of all that stuff is what made the 1st gen NSX so appealing. 1st gen NSX was Simple, light weight, hands-off "let the driver screw up", easy to fix and maintain. Next time you get a chance to visit Acura... Ask them if its possible to go back to a very minimalist light weight sports car that the 1st gen was. Hopefully something that can at least compete with the new mid-engine corvette's in price to performance.
You gotta remember when the gen 1 came out it made untouchable tech touchable. The new one did the same thing (took tech from hypercars and made it cheaper
I have always been conflicted about the gen 2 nsx. I always thought they looked pretty nice in photos. Then I saw one in person and it blew me away. Stunning in my opinion. I would have loved this with just a twin turbo v6. I also would have loved it even if it was electric. We got both, and it seems almost pathetic that they needed a 3.5 liter v6, two turbos ,and three whole ass electric motors to make 570ish hp. It just seems needlessly complicated and could have been much lighter if they had picked one or the other. Not to mention cheaper.
Awd, auto, turbo, electric=driver. Just closecl your eyes, mash the pedal, and be a good little passenger, like all these generic ass cars these days. Some just don't get the joy of analog cars that require the driver to do the heavy lifting, not computers. I'd drive a yugo before any of this new b.s.
they should have had a RWD only version with a price of around $120,000 or so......then they would of sold like crazy or at the very least well enough to keep it around.
Somethings not right, when you reviewed other cars, your smile said it all. This review (forgive me) sounds like talking points. The "It's fast" or "Whoo", doesn't sell me that you like it as much as you say. For instance, when you drove a quick civic, the red Supra from the airport, driving the McLaren, those were smiles!!! The viewrs can see the body language that you didn't want to get out of them. With the new Type S, feels like you want to say nice things about it, to not shame the brand, or the owner. Once again, my small opinion.
the only thing that sucked about the second gen nsx being out was that the Integra type s tlx type s and it no coupes out while they were selling the car.. acura needed to use the nsx to have buyers come into the showroom. and then still then on the other type s models.. or a coupe.. if acura also had a new cl and it rsx they would have moved numbers.
The new nsx is being slept on like the old ones during their era. Once people come around to their senses, it’ll be harder to get. Honda/ Acura doesn’t miss!!!
I adore the second gen NSX in leaps and bounds, Type S or not. I just wish upon a star that they didn't cost so bloody much. I feel if they were between 70-80k, dealerships wouldn't have been able to keep them in stock.
Give me the NSX Type S, rip out the hybrid keep it MR layout. And rename it to Type RS. The reason why it flopped in the beginning was def the price point and the overly complex hybrid system and the torque vectoring system. The R35 stuck to the same formula for years even when they changed from the R34 to R35 platform. 6 cylinders twin turbo and ATTESA ETS AWD. And ppl still love the R35. Sure getting its age. But i do wish the R36 GTR will have the same DNA as GTRs of the past.
I saw one last night and it had a pretty dope warp and I had to search up the nsx and it is try what you said I hardly see these around but the 1 I saw last night caught my eye
when the 1st gen nsx came out it was referred as the "poor man supercar" and it was a reliable alternative to the italians and this second gen didnt live up to that moto because of the price . Like you i agree that if honda had made a mid engine sports car to fight the cayman or lotus it would had been more successfull
When it comes to unattainable cars, as in, cars that regular people will never be able to afford, they just fall off the radar. Oh and it's a hybrid and that's stupid.
If the Type S had been the base model NSX for 2017, then that would have been a much better starting point for Acura. But either way the second gen NSX was massively overpriced when they first went on sale. Never a 200k car.
There is a simple answer to why you buy the Acura NSX over an Italian exotic sports car, that is the combo of reliability and ride quality on your daily local commute is hands down the superior experience in this Acura super car.
what kills it for most enthusiasts and fans of the original is that it only comes in auto trans...they would have sold better with a manual option ....But compared to the prices on the original on the used market, I'd rather have the NC1, cuz I have had three NA1's and love them, but they are all show, no go....but to be honest, after i got an M3P as my daily driver, all ICE cars I drive now feel slow af
What platform would you say it is most similar to speed wise ? I’ve always seen these and figured they could be pretty fast with some shit thrown at it.
Im generally anti hybrid/ev but man im biased when it comes to Honda. The only downside to me (even though ive never driven one) is that there’s no clutch pedal, but I can see why they did what they did.
I always liked what they did with this car, I just wonder if they had toned it down just a tad (like maybe just electric front axle and ICE rear - ie one fewer electric motor) to keep the price a little lower, it would have been better received. Even just different trim/power levels, kinda like the R8. But with inflation, it wasn't that outrageous compared to the old ones.
I think another thing that is not mentioned with the NSX, you will probably not be needing to go to the dealership all the time, with incredibly high repair bills. Also, there are way more Honda dealerships around, if you do, versus, Lambo, Ferrari etc. Not to mention, Lambos, Farraris, cost a bit more new, than the NSX did.
I genuinely think these will go the way of the LFA, no one really buying them, but will start to go for a lot of money in the future once Honda ends production.
Honda did enthusiastss a 'solid' by making another NSX, and then didnt developed it in isolation and ignored what enthusiasts *actually* wanted in an NSX, and paid the price for it. No manual. hybrid(???) too complex, too expensive. It also came out right around when EVs started to show us that even cookie cutter commuting appliances can smoke ICE vehicles in a straight line, and that what we REALLY get out of a gas powered sports car is handling, driver engagement/connectedness, and FUN. There are way better options for less for that.
I’m an everyday budget fun car guy with a Miata, this extreme JDM product is a dream. Yes, I would spend the money if I had it on a JDM over an Italian or British exotic car. Porsche is different. ❤
I think it got hate because when ut originally came out, it was a car to compete with Ferrari and other super cars for half the price. I think MSRP started at $169k in 2022. I think the C8 Corvette filled that spot. Plus, the lack of 3 pedals kinda killed it. But given that it's competition are autos only, it makes sense.
I saw a recent video on the Lotus Emira and couldn't help but think, THIS is what the NSX should have been. Boosted V6 with a manual. I think Honda tried to overreach but underreached.
Thank you for your videos and I’m glad you’re taking better care of your health (you look more refreshed and vibrant). You bring a fun and unique energy to the car enthusiast community and we are so happy for you here 😌 We hope to see you for many decades to come 😀 Semper Fi
It is actually a REALLY good sequel to the NSX, it's the exact same car, but more modern. If you don't like the new NSX, you don't know what the old NSX stood for. The first gen NSX was described perfectly with the "it's an Accord made for Ferrari drivers" quote. It was made as an every day supercar, which is a contradiction in itself, it shouldn't exist. A supercar should be all about the experience, like a Countach. The "Honda sent Ferrari back to the drawing board, because they made a better Ferrari then Ferrari did" mindset doesn't mean they made a better version of what we THINK of Ferrari as. All Ferrari did with the next generation midengine V8 was put in AC, and the NSX sales went to the gutter. The new NSX has always been a spiritual successor to the old NSX. An "every day sportscar", not a ton of experience, at the cost of daily drivability, kind of like an R8
Screw the haters; I love the new NSX and if I was a rich man I'd absolutely own one. Sadly I'm too poor for either generation lol. With that said, I think the C8 Corvette is what most people wanted this NSX to be, and I think if they did that (with the lower price to match), it would have been much better received.
Honda should have just put in a 450-500 hp twin turbo v6 in it. A new wider chassis with improved structural integrity and larger wheels and tires. I sat in the NSX at the auto show a few years back and it felt absolutely like nothing special, so they need to improve the interior as well.
When this one released the original was obtainable at a good price. Now I would much rather just get this than the OG because they're essentially the same price
easily predicable how acura was going to butcher this car There's no written or unwritten rule that you can't take a fun car from the past that shaped your brand, and modernize it but keep true to the original styling. These companies are fascinated with throwing established names on completely unrecognizable products and expecting to get the same results from before. That's simply stupid. Need less "dream car is tesla fanboys" and more car enthusiasts in the automotive design world. When it comes to sports cars or fun cars, leave the tablet babysitters to design the next minivan or truck, but keep them away from the real cars.
I feel like most people don't care about supercars because they know they'll never own one, like, what's the point of buying a super expensive NSX when you can grab a 7th Gen Accord, K or J Series that ain't rusted out, and have endless parts for it because they made so damn many of them, and spend maybe 12k in total to make something about 70% as fast. Most people won't buy, they'll build
Brand new NSX or old NSX?

@@alexanderpsaras5663 Right? People forget the 90s dream cars were cheap IN COMPARISON to the stuff coming out of Europe at the time. It's still a great buy, but people definitely got the shaft paying markups on these cars, or any car, really.
once the NSX was around 180,000 price tag, consumers just bought a GT3 instead, the NSX was always overshadowed
I always loved the look of the new NSX, but a part of me will always wonder what it would’ve been like if it hadn’t been a hybrid.
I always wanted something much simpler. That's just me!
With a solid v6 based on the J series but bulked out with a screaming NA redline would've been sick
Oh dog on ppl with sub 100k because their preferences. Clown.
I hope someone views this comment in 10 years
I actually like the NSX. It's really is a shame they went underrated because of it name.
I do think if they just called it a new model name, of sporty luxury car to compete with like a C class, or 911 4S, it would've been so much better
It's not underrated because of the name its 'underrated' because of the insane price.
The only people that don't like NSX's have never driven one. *Bikini Bottom townspeople voices*
Let’s push the NSX and put it somewhere else
Yeah cause everybody can drive the nsx....

Those cars are sick in person. A old lady that comes into my wife’s store has a red one and it’s badass.
New or old? Assuming a new gen 2.
@@S.Matt240 Damn. The NSX is a real interesting pick for somebody in their 60s. Especially somebody that owns a ton of USDM muscle.
My dad has a 2019, it is a pretty spectacular performance car for the money. Reliability, check. 20+ mpg, check.
The new NSX basically yelled “the future is now old man” to the faces of every JDM golden era fan. Needless to say most of them didn’t take it well.
There's video of it testing on the Nürburgring.
yep v10 got the best sound
Wow that’s why it was so expensive
Goddamit fuck EVs man
I think the reason the newer NSX kinda flopped is that there was nothing separating it from its rivals. At that price point there are much faster and arguably better looking cars to choose from. That being said its still a sweet ride that fits the dailyable super sports car bill perfectly. I think you gotta see it irl to really appreciate it. Older NSX is still my dream car tho car
Not until you drive it, then you can say whatever you want to say. But "flopped" kinda bias.
It’s somewhat a “Guess you guys aren’t ready for that yet, but your kids are gonna love it” kind of car
I really dig the new one and would rather have that right now than the older one.
To keep and live with same. But the old one is just proper pure sports car
I love how some people hate on the NSX or new Supra because it’s the same as the old, stupid to think that way and it’s shame because it’s a different time and better tech people need to appreciate these for what they were because they are fantastic
Unfortunately that's not how human beings work we are nostalgic creatures maybe it will be appreciated when it's 10 to 15 years old
I find it intresting how dodge brought back the challenger, ford the gt40, and chevy reinivented the corvette and they all sold well and are loved by the cuetomer base, manwhile toyota brought back the supra and acura brought back the nsx just for them to flop. Some manufacters just dont understand who theyre selling to
I've always been a fan of the 2nd gen, It's currently one of my unobtainable dream cars
The Type S is something special for sure. It addresses all the major complaints when the original came out in 2017.
Jay Leno has a NSX. He says it's the most well made car he owns if that tells you anything.
Yea it does
I think the price was not too bad(other than dealer markups).
Unfortunately you don't see them so I see them going the way of the LFA unfortunately
Edit: for everyone thinking I'm crazy I didn't find the old NSX attractive, I was alive when it came out and the poster children were the Countach, Testarossa, Viper, Calloway Corvette, F40...
I believe we’re are already seeing the second Gen was ahead of it’s time.
I bought a 2017. For the price now , it's hard to beat.
The car has a 9 speed dual clutch transmission, not a 7 spd auto. How can a"car guy" get such basics wrong?
The second gen will always be cool to me because when they first came out a guy from Acura came to my local car show and let me sit in it
If i had that kind of money and i could afford one id buy one. To me it isnt about how u can get the same or more for much less its about being different. I have never even seen a newer nsx on the road where i live
I completely agree I would buy it also if I had the money for it too a lot of people on here have generic mind sets and would rather get lambos and Ferraris why get something that everybody in this whole world wants instead of just being different and getting something that not everybody has the newer nsx is slept on
But I actually like that because it’ll be easier to get since not that many people want it I used to like lambos as a child but once I grew up I felt like they became overrated every rapper, singer, and actor has one but not that many have a nsx this car doesn’t deserve the hate it gets
The appeal of the first gen like you said was that it was punching under its weight class, it was a better deal. You got a better or equally performing car for a fraction of the price. Today not so much. With how rare the 2nd gen is I think it will be looked back on fondly in the future but not right now.
With inflation, the original NSX was $141K. In 2017, the then-new NSX was about $156K.
I would have to agree. My wealthy friends would choose European over this every time.
I just prefer the acura legend... its just better than an NSX without the tax
They should have made the new nsx with the same V6 without the electric motors, RWD and option with manual transmition and make it less expensive
I think if they did that people would complain that it's too slow
What about a RWD, manual v6 would've been an "NSX"? Sounds like something Ferrari did 50 years ago, not something New or eXperimental
Regardless, the old NSX' had the same MSRP when adjusted for inflation, this was the perfect modernised NSX, most people just don't know what the old NSX was past how it looks
@@istvanlorinczi2817 so people see the old NSX through nostalgia glasses and not what it was like most 30+ year old cars
So nice of Steve-O to swing by and review the New Type S 😂
Been loving your vids, i love the chill vibe. especially compared to certain youtubers who constantly yell to keep your attention 😂
I don't think I've ever seen one of these on the road which is unfortunate cause they look great
I have always been conflicted about the gen 2 nsx.
Why would I buy a Honda NSX over a Ferrari, a Lamborghini? Try hitting 200,000 Miles Trouble FREE with a Ferrari - Lamborghini - McLaren.
And the maintenance cost. The NSX costs less than $500 year to maintain outside of tires.
they should have had a RWD only version with a price of around $120,000 or so......then they would of sold like crazy or at the very least well enough to keep it around.
Actually its a good deal, won't be fully appreciated until later years.
Your a lucky dude man...driving all these dope rides. Can I be down??
The type S elevates it so much. Would be a perfect daily tbh
If you think about it, the NSX was way ahead of its time.
Fyi the AG1 add is legit. I was struggling with energy and gut health and it helped A LOT.
Terrible sound engine. Honda lost its edge and charm. Even in Japan people don't respect Honda that much anymore.
No way
@@mackcummy4976 yes way.
Agreed, the NSX Type S should have been the 2nd Gen NSX from the beginning. Also, the NSX has a 9 speed dual clutch transmission.
Competing against cayman or most Lotus is not supercar territory.
@@dreday2751yeah that's not a super car that's more like dedicated sports car territory which is a completely different Market
Love the videos
BRO THIS WAS FILMED IN VA BEACH!!!! Next time you come to Virginia beach I would love to meet you big bro!
what kills it for most enthusiasts and fans of the original is that it only comes in auto trans...they would have sold better with a manual option ....But compared to the prices on the original on the used market, I'd rather have the NC1, cuz I have had three NA1's and love them, but they are all show, no go....but to be honest, after i got an M3P as my daily driver, all ICE cars I drive now feel slow af
When you mention the NSX, I think of the car The Wolf from Pulp Fiction drove up in...
What platform would you say it is most similar to speed wise ? I’ve always seen these and figured they could be pretty fast with some shit thrown at it.
Simple- car is over priced and targeted at the completely WRONG customer....
What's the Nurburgring lap time for that POS? 30mins?
Thank you for your videos and I’m glad you’re taking better care of your health (you look more refreshed and vibrant). You bring a fun and unique energy to the car enthusiast community and we are so happy for you here 😌
We hope to see you for many decades to come 😀

Built one on the website in the early days. The price was not Honda ish. Bet it's a 500k mile car. I think I have a better shot with an RCF
This is one of the few cars that have actually pushed David’s head back into the headrest.
easily predicable how acura was going to butcher this car
There's no written or unwritten rule that you can't take a fun car from the past that shaped your brand, and modernize it but keep true to the original styling.
Yep they also pick the wrong time to release it also the beek 😑😑 why it looks like Mdx loll . They needed a hardcore nsx fan to build it
Even sadder, some of the NSX haters that have never driven one are pretty big youtubers, such as streetspeed717
