@@dennistaylor5065it wasn't canceled because of the deaths on the show. If I remember correctly, it was canceled because the viewership didn't justify the amount of money that was spent on the series.
Ezekiel Rage is one of my favorite villains in all of media. Pretending to be a stereotypical ransom the world melomaniac when actually he's a world ending nihilist... but no one realizes it.
You said it, man. This show is so underrated. No wonder there aren't many pics of this show on the internet, especially Jessie Bannon. Speaking of which, I was so upset that she wasn't included in the Jellystone cartoon.
JQ was my favorite catch in cartoon Network back in 90s... This one along with other shows such as Swat Kats were the genuine attempts by the cartoon artists back then to inspire the children and even adults to be courageous righteous daring investigative introspective intellects and follow their core instincts for a better success and future. Even the villians are given so much thought in this cartoon, the character Ezekiel Rage is something so gripping and thrilling to watch and the combination of this name is associated my login credentials even today so JQ has been part of my computer world since 1996 till today in 2023.. Even These cartoons literally shaped some of us to be wat we are today.. I wish Christopher Nolan makes a real movie out on JQ with Liam Neeson as Dr Quest, Sir Ian McAllen as Surd and music composition by John Williams, Hans Zimmer and Ludwig Goransson. Coz it deserves to be retold to the present generation of dumb lethargic kids who r either glued to smartphones or r watching silly stupid pokemon doremon oggy n cockroaches and reality shows such as big boss.
Instead of Steven Spielberg, trying to resurrect Indiana Jones, I wish he would start a Johnny Quest franchise instead. Johnny Quest has all the elements that made Indiana Jones a compelling character.
A great revamp of the 1964 cartoon. The writing was pretty good. It has the spirit of that series, now in a darker context. Jeremiah Surd was such a big bastard for targeting my girl, Jessie.
Nicely done sir. I grew up watching the original series from the 1960s and its first reboot in the 1980s. When this new reboot came out, I was impressed with the storytelling and the animation. Now I know there were two seasons. The second season was animated differently, but it was still nicely done. Hard to believe this version is almost 30 years old now. Thanks for the history lesson on Jonny Quest. One more thing: I believe Jesse Bannon was added in this version. I know she wasn’t in the Original series and I think she was in the first reboot in a few episodes. Thanks again. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I'm still obsessed with this show to this day. Season One was fantastic. Season Two...not as much. I really feel like Season Two ruined Jessie a bit, taking her from being a badass to just another damsel in distress trope.
I loved this show when I was able to see it. I can clearly remember watching one episode from my childhood: "Edge of Tomorrow", because it was the most mind-bending episode of the series.
Was that the one where Ezekiel destroyed Earth and they had to time travel with their Matrix-esque computer to stop him? That was an insane episode. Also the other one I remember being completely nuts is where a villain sent the President to a virtual Hell.
They had some great villains in this. Especially Jeremiah Surd and Ezekiel Rage. If this got a reboot today, I could totally see Liam Neeson as Race Bannon.
Thanks for the great video. Watch a few of the old 70s episodes here and there as a kid. Was that interested in it compared to the other cartoons like Transformers and Voltron. Did like the 90s reboot. Some of the stories were great. Actually brought the two seasons DVD set a while back from Best Buy.
I remember *Ndovu's Last Journey* episode very well. How the hunters' deaths get passed the censors I have no idea. Ever though, we don't see their death, the sound of their bones getting crushed and their flesh getting impaired is much for the kids to imagine how they died.
Apparently my dad use to watch this when I was very little n he came home many years ago with all these seasons on DVD n was watching it. I never saw it before n he filled me in on when he use to watch it xD I thought it was good enough. Definitely good for its time.
I would like to see a live action movie with either George Clooney, Tom Selleck, Liam Neeson or Pierce Brosnan as Dr. Benton Quest, Dave Bautista, Daniel Craig, or Dwayne Johnson as Race Bannon, Zac Efron, Josh Hutcherson, or Liam Hemsworth as Jonny Quest, and Kal Penn, Dev Patel, or Harsh Mayer as Haji. A live action movie has been in development since 2015.
nah it'd suffer the woke wave like everything else is. ....tho i wish they would make a new animated series in the style of real adventures. it was good evolution of the show.
JQ was definitely a fave and way ahead of its time. From the catchy intro to the well written storyline I’m pretty bummed it didn’t make waves. However, in the right hands, it would make a good live action series.
one fact you left out. the show had a drastic change in character design during the show's run. the the first half of season 1 had a different animated design and was switch the classic character design later on. if you notice that Dr. Quest had dark hair and stash. giving him a sort of a Tom Sellet look and after a bunch of episode. it was switch back to his classic look from the original series but with some minor changes. some touch of grey from hair was added but the red hair and stash

He reminds me of murdoc from the macguyver series, def not an original caracter
Mine as well.
One minor correction. The title mentions the original being a 70s cartoon. The show actually started in 1964.
Also it says "A underrated" 😅
I will never forget the Haunted Sonata episode. That skeleton behind the bricks. Damn!
