Dungeons & Dragons Animated Series: Requiem The Final Episode (A fan made production) Revised

- It became necessary to change some music in the original video in order to avoid 3rd party monitization and ads ruining the viewing experience.
The Final episode of the 1980s Saturday morning cartoon Dungeons and Dragons. From a script written by series writer Michael Reaves. Fully animated by using original footage from the series. Dialog from the DVD radio show released in 2006 by BCI eclipse. With original cast member Katie Leigh graciously reprising her role of Shelia. Music reconstructed from the original series (with varying degrees of success) The creators of this episode are fans first, amateur animators second. There are many things I wish could have done differently in this presentation, but I am very proud of what we have accomplished and it is my hope that those who love this cartoon as much as we do will be pleased with what we have put together. Professional Disclaimer: We have attempted to follow Michael Reaves' amazing script to the closest letter, except places that were beyond our abilities to create. The extra events that occur after that are strictly my ideas (discussed with my co-creator Marshall Hubbard) on how to close out the series. With concepts and events stemming from previous stories, and in an attempt to bring a definitive closure to the story of the search for a way home.

THAT WAS ASTOUNDING!!!!! I can't believe that here, at the age of 53 I'd live to see the serious finale of a beloved cartoon! A millions applauses and a billion thankyous!!!! What a joy!
And I at 49 yrs😄
I thought the same thing. I am so glad I finally got to see the finale of such a beloved cartoon I watched as a kid. This is well put together.
I'm 44 and I am privileged to see the ending. I saw the beginning when it premiered in Singapore before it got pulled off the air. I saw more episodes from the Malaysian side but never expected to finally see the real ending. Thank you Zetavio Deloryan for putting this altogether.
@Christopher Hogan , yeah, there are so many possibilities. Presto probably didn't have a family that he's close to or he probably thinks that when he becomes a full fledge wizard, he will be able to open a portal back to Earth on his own. If you have seen Brazil's Renault Kwid advertising, Presto looks like some one very familiar.
He looks like Harry Potter right? We do not know Presto's real name. When I look up James Potter's date of birth and when Presto and the rest of the kids went on the Dungeons and Dragons ride, James Potter would probably be a young boy at best. So Presto could be James Potter.........
My feelings as a sixty-one year old too!
This made me tear up so much. Me and my mom loved watching D&D when I went as a kid and we’d dress up the part. I’d have my little bow and arrows and my mom dyed a sheet the same color as Shelia’s cloak. My dad would walk by when she was wearing it and standing next to her ask me where she was, I always told him I couldn’t see her she’s invisible. About 5 years after the “final” episode aired she died of a massive heart attack
I just watched the true final episode and in my minds eye I was a kid again watching D&D with my mom.
Thank you so much for making this
I hate seeing things come to an end but it feels even worse when something isn't given a proper ending. This fulfilled a childhood dream I've wanted for a long time.
I was born in 1977, and loved this show in the 80s. What a great result. Well done. This 46 year old is one happy man

Thank you. This was done very well.
Thank you for making this! I had read the script but great to see it as a complete episode. Finally some closure after 30 years or so....
The funny thing was, all these years later I started rewatching with my daughter, she was seeing the series for the first time. As we finish the series you post this, so for her it was complete in one go!!

Thank you for this!
We now mourn for Michael Reaves, the man who made this show possible, as well as gave us closure to this beloved series. RIP.
It’s very sad. I watched many of his shows
Suddenly, this becomes a fine tribute to the memory of Reaves.
He’d be proud of his disciples here who carried out his hope this would get the satisfactory conclusion it always deserved

I'm from Brazil and this cartoon was a big hit here, I mean HUGE hit! Pretty much like He-Man, She-ra and Thundercats. It aired daily for years. We would watch each episode over and over again and never got tired of 'Caverna do Dragão' (Dragon's Cave in English, its title here). I believe it was even bigger here than it was in US (the video with the version of this dubbed in Brazilian Portuguese has more than 2 millions views.) @@papahudz69 hey at least he got the girl of his dreams!
I can imagine Eric returning to his home life, getting back to his education, probably getting groomed for a position in his father's business, a position that he probably never wanted but it was put upon him, and now feeling miserable about it all. And deep down he is now missing the Realm.
So, when Dungeon Master calls him and the other kids back, Eric exclaims "I didn't ask to come back here!" But Dungeon Master, already knowing Eric's true feelings says with a smile "Oh, but you did, Cavalier. You told me so before you returned home. I quote 'oh yeah, we don't wanna miss that'.
Eric is initially annoyed, but even he can't help but grin at Dungeon Master's reply, and being back in the Realm.
Perfect. So good to be young again in the Realm.
Perhaps all the kids will return to the Realm when they each come of age (which for most of them was not far away). Cause it looked like Hank wanted to stay.
Maybe Presto makes it possible for them after perfecting his magic skills.
With happy endings, there's always an encore. By all means, let's have a return to "Dungeons & Dragons". All the children will have grown up, and truly devote themselves to the misadventure they detested in their youth. Please don't change Uni where we wouldn't recognize her anymore.
Well its better if they grow up, finally takes weapons and a not only "SHIELD" and big wood stick.

OMG Venger is dungeon master's son and the heroes are redeemers! I am completely blown away by this amazing last episode. As a small boy in the '80s there was no cartoon I looked forward to more than the dungeons & dragons series. This work is impressive to say the least. I'm struggling to find words that can appropriately transmit my feelings of appreciation for what you've done here. Thank you so much for finishing this series and giving it an ending that truly lives up to my expectations. Many blessings to you (whomever you are, I'm guessing it took more than one person to put this together) and all of your endeavors in the future.
It's never stated though wether venger is his biological son or adoptive
It’s alluded to vaguely in The Dragon’s Graveyard “ when the kids defeat Venger and Dungeon Master says, “ Rise, my “
And another time Dungeon Master says to himself, “ We all make mistakes, Venger was mine.”
I’m 49 years old and I’m so glad I got to see the final end of Dungeon and Dragons. Been waiting for a long time. 👍🏻❤️❤️❤️

Not to long ago I found the complete series of Dungeons and Dragons at my local flea market many moons ago. It was only $5 and I knew the moment I picked it up that my life would change forever. I watched the entire series back to back and was struck with sadness as there was no conclusion to the show, learning of its cancellation afterwards. I even listen and read the comic of the last episode Requiem, but your piece of work is what gave me the closure I truly needed. Finally I can close the book on this wonderful show and I only wish I was born earlier to see it on Saturday morning cartoons back in the day.
Dungeons and Dragons have been a new staple into my family recently. We've began to play almost once a week with new stories and adventures, I even run as the Dungeon Master!! But forevermore I will hold onto these adventures close to my heart, both my family and this Show.

Ah, yes, that radio show was made as an extra for the American DVDs, released in 2006 (so it wasn't fan-made, even though most of the cast was different from the original episodes). Almost all of the voice acting for this episode was taken from there. =)
One of, if not the best Saturday morning adventure cartoons. I was in college when this came out and me and buddies watched this show then played the game. I even video taped some of the later episodes and when the series ended, I wrote a story about the kids when they were twenty years older and home. This is something that the devotee's of the cartoon series will be glad has finally seen the light of day as it has explained so many of the storylines behind the preceeding episodes, the decision to cancel this show before Requiem was made has to be one of the most bizarre in all of Television history.
Not really bizarre, it probably wasnt profitable to produce so they cut costs, there wasnt a demand at all for it until 30 years later.
@@xLordOfNothingx I think the pressure groups scared the network more than anything into cancellation, the fact that the show went against what was seen as the social conventions of the time did not help and the allegations of demons leading teenagers into devil worship is laughable.

@@deanrichardkhamani1210 ....i just recently saw that episode and when i heard Venger say that..it was truth betold!!!
I happened to come across this while searching for another cartoon I remember watching Saturday mornings, and can say I'm glad I did. I always wondered if the children were able to return home. Thanks for answering/showing this for me!
Ryan, I wish you were a television script writer. You're brilliant at this. Every change you made in the Requiem script was the right call, every addition to it was smart and creative and showed that you fully understand and 'feel' this show. Using the season two opening. Completing the Varla and Terry storylines. Solving the Uni problem. Adding those specific quotes from Dungeon Master at 24:03. The way you saved Hank from falling into the abyss. Even giving the Hank and Sheila shippers the closure they needed. Bravo.
This is the Michael Reaves script with dialog from the radio play version on the collector's dvd. It's as official a finale as we could get.
@@MotiviqueStudio Yes, most of it is from the Michael Reaves script. I was commenting on the choices that animator Ryan ('Zetavio Deloryan') made, his additions and changes. The script was a first draft, after all.
I so wish this episode had been made as it ties up loose ends. There are hints all through the series that Venger is Dungeon masters son. Also, it explains why Dungeon master always seemed half-hearted in wanting to help the kids get home. He needed them as much as they needed him. This video is beautifully made. It's in keeping with the style of the series.
Remember the very first episode? Presto wanted to stay with Merlin and his white “hair” who was Venger in disguise and here he stays with the redeemed Venger who is now called Merlin
@@TayWoode Full circle
@@benfisher1376 exactly! I only realised when I watched the first one with my cousin’s son a few months ago and thought wow they’ve planned this whole story from the start and also in a few episodes Presto says he doesn’t have nice parents who are always criticising him calling him useless and he’d rather stay in the realm and use his magic to help others
@TayWoode It was such a good series. The animation has dated a bit I suppose, but the storytelling, music, monsters and characters are still great.
This 80's kids hart is so happy and grateful for this amazing ending to this amazing Saturday morning cartoon. I miss my eighties childhood and Saturday morning cartoons especially this one. Thank you!❤😊
I waited my whole life for that thank you! I'm 53 years old and shead a tear I've been saving for a special moment, and that was it.
Thankyou to all who made this masterpiece!!! 🥰

Bravo! Like many, I watched this animated series when I was a kid, and I always wanted to see the finale when they made it home. I own the Best Buy exclusive 5-disc DVD set of the animated series, and it only has an audio version of Requiem, but now I could see AND hear this well-done finale at 46 years old. Thanks loads. Bless you.
No matter how many times you reupload this I will like it everytime
Thank you very much. I am still trying to learn all of the rules of youtube
@@zetaviodeloryan5381 Agreed, this is fuckin great. Did you have anything to do with the making of this as well?
@@TV-Tony Yeah. The Ryan Nead mentioned in the credits is me. My buddy Marshall Hubbard put this together. Zetavio Deloryan is just the name of the channel. My name mixed with the DeLorean. My favorite car.
@@TV-Tony The original comment about it being reuploaded is because we had to take the old one down and replace some music. But ended up bringing the original back online.
@@zetaviodeloryan5381 You're Ryan Nead. I noticed you also got to do the voice of the redeemed Venger. That's pretty cool, man. And I guess your brother played Presto.
Even though I read the original script years ago that was fantastic you should all be really proud. That worked so well,....nice little touch with bobby's locket and Presto's story. From this point Presto could be a guide for a new group of children to come to the realm. Glad it had an ending and you still kept the story alive. Thanks guys.
You don't by chance have a brother named Daniel, do you?
No sorry
Sorry. My brother in law Daniel has a sister named Michelle (maiden name)-Thoburn.
No problem
They should have then allowed Diana to go be with Kosar, since he was her "love interest".
Thanks for giving this to us and finally sealing and old chapter in our lives
This was one of my favorite shows back in the day. My nephew and I watched this religiously.
Great shows have great finales, and this deserves no less. Well done.
This is emotional. I last seen this series back in the early 80s as a kid. Looking forward to Christmas and all the Star Wars films with ads😂.
This has made my night. All this time on now at 45 I get to see the end and close a chapter of my childhood with a smile. Thankyou.
They should make this into a film or s new series of cartoons with new people going to the realm. 😁👍
Hey maybe the rights holders (Hasbro/Wizards of The Coast) will see that there is still love for this property and do something with it now? We can only hope.
@@zetaviodeloryan5381 there's always hope. You gave fans old and new closure. Who knows maybe one day it'll be rebooted for a new generation. Hey it worked for Voltron twice. It can work for D&D to.
@@zetaviodeloryan5381 42 here and I shared the dVD series with my two kids 7 & 9 and they loved it. It was an Auto DVD add to the rotation on vacation road trips for a few years.
God I wish this could be put on DVD so we could join it with our "whole series" collections.
03:51 the moment the otherwise chill DM had enough of his players messing around during the boss battle and decides not to bail them out of the mess they created.
Takes me right back I was born in 87 but I loved this show and watching it again brought great memories back and for that I thank you.
Truly an outstanding job! This was my favorite Saturday morning show and was bummed out when it got canceled. I’m 50 and enjoyed this episode immensely. Thank you for bringing a fitting end to a great story.
this has finally completed my childhood 🙌 ❤
Yeah2 me too...i thought i, never see the end of this madness....oh that dungeon master son quite have a good looks 😆😂
Of all the unfinished series', this is truly one appreciated by all of us leaving comments, myself included! Well done, and many thanks!!!!
After decades, this was very satisfying to finally see them return home. Thank you to all who brought this to fruition.
Outstanding!! Years ago I bought a D&D boxset with all episodes including a featurette for Requiem, set to be either the show's finale or bridge to another series, but was never made! The DVD had the script to read and I later listened to it on RUclips, but finally it has been put into animation!
People all over the world of every ages love this amazing cartoon. We dont producers not bring this back whit new seasons. I don't understand. Maby we have to started a petions on social meddia????
Finally saw the end of this series at almost age 45, and it was worth the wait. I felt all of the nostalgic feels while watching, the music, storyline, even Vengar's redemption. Thank you for putting this video on, a part of my childhood is resolved.
