  • We have long since wholesaled this thing off so this is the last video you all will see on this car! In this video I give a full in depth tour of the 2000 Buick Century . I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

    Kyle, this is a great example of why I love your videos. Most of the cars you show us are in great shape, but it's ones like these that keep me entertained. Don't get me wrong, I love the exotics you come across once in a while, but I tend to enjoy the shitty cars, their mysteries and your commentary a lot more. Remember the Celica GTS convertible? I know you do ;) Keep these things coming!

    When you own one of these you already know the signs of a few window motors and a headlight switch has been replaced. The gauges prnd321 needs a few radio shack resistors to fix that and there is a video here for that(I see it's already been fixed in the newer vids) Sad thing is I seen 4 cars in the J Yard same year with 90% less interior damage. Front sways were all broke. guess I'm the only one who swapped that out too.

    that knock at the beginning its common in a cold start for these 3.1 L engines. Loose fitting pistons... they expand with heat and it goes away

    I'd disagree. My grandma has one. She bought it brand new in 2004. We have taken it from Northern Illinois to Florida twice. Nothing has ever gone bad on it in 125,000 miles.

    That smoking thing, it probably is from just sitting. Before I got rid of my Cougar it sat for seven months before I got a hold of it and it smoked even worse. Of course I got rid of it because I blew the engine, but... you know.
    LOVE the sound of your car starting up, by the way.

    I have a 2002century,90,ooo miles always maintained, it taps like a lifter issue ,always has ,most people are not patient with anything these days,let you vehicles idle a few seconds, without putting your foot in it ,your car will last much longer.😊

    I had a 2000 Buick Century very similar to this one until this summer and this vehicle had several issues with it that mine had...the brake feedback, gas gauge being bad and the odometer display being out were 3 of the reasons why I wound up unloading it...

  • @aaronries9307

    My mother had one of these. For three years it broke down. It was always the windows too. One was a wire under the dash, the control panel for the windows on the drivers side broke after switching the passenger lockout switch, and both back windows and a driver window had the cables inside broke like at 3:44. The back ones we ended up just putting a stop inside so they wouldn't roll down. Also the mileage was horrible... it got 18 city and 18 highway... that's it. Traded it in for a *LOADED* 2004 Toyota Avalon XLS... Still have it and she loves it so... glad we got rid of it.

    • @joshn938
      @joshn938 8 лет назад +2

      +Aaron Ries I have never had any issues with the window motors with my 03 Century. 110K and still runs like a top. I have no doubts it will go another 100K. I don't know what kind of driving your mother was doing...I get way better mileage than 18. My commute is 80 miles round trip every day, 40 percent city 60 percent highway. I average 28 on regular gas and 32 with non-ethanol gas (when i can find it). Again, that's city and highway driving, 65 MPH steady on the highway, variable in town.

    i disagree, i have never had a issue with the electrical on mine and it has 178,000 miles, it has great performance, will do 0-60 in between 7 too 9 seconds, the only issue im having is hard shifting beacuse the previous owner was foolsih enough to let a idiot work on the transmission, easy too fix, gas milage is 30MPG, probably better now that i have A K&N air filter element and NGK V power spark plugs, it handles great and is very comfortable to drive and ride.

    @PRO50MUSTANGS Just because the economy is tanking doesn't mean a car should be neglected or people should take on such an investment that they risk falling deeper in debt. Obviously the person who had this car and the previous owner were deadbeats who didn't want to make the payments. Whatever it's their loss and it's their credit rating that will lower.
    Also, if the kid came first like you said in your comment why didn't the owners of the car remove the seat?
