@@fancyshoes002 I think my personal favorite from the YT series is the YT-2000. Still has the centered cockpit. Major design flaw having the cockpit on one side with the YT-1300. I mean, it adds to the Falcon's iconic look, but it's in no way practical
One of the things that I prefer about the Rebel Strike, is that they got actual orchestral music for the in-game parts. I do like the synthesized stuff they use in the escape part of the level, but, it cannot be compared to the majesty that is John Williams and the London Symphony Orchestra. I mean, the sythesized stuff always reminds me the original N64 Rogue Squadron.
Well played, definitely one of my favs missions and games from the GC. Flying the falcon is a real challenge. I couldn’t have flown it any better. Wish I could find a partner like this one to team up with on that game. Nicely done
Bro these games, all 3, were absolute fucking gems and ALL nintendo fans had these games. At least one in the series. They were must have and it's pretty fucking sweet that they stayed as nintendo exclusives considering all the hate we nintendo fans receive and how all developers now days shut us out and dont give us shit. Honestly, pretty nice to see they have never left the big N and hopefully we can get a remastered collection of these 3 games. Switch exclusive of course.
Trip down memory lane here. Man, seeing those flames creep up behind you is so intense. Love the effort that went into the whole interior sequence too, makes you appreciate the true size of the death star when you are max thrusting through those corridors and still the flames are overtaking you. I beat this mission entirely in cockpit mode with the X Wing but wouldn't dare to try it in the Falcon
Me playing for the first time "Oh boy, the final run into the Death Star to blow it up once and for a--" *Falcon blows up in a picosecond, mission failure* "...Oh I'm gonna *hate* this mission."
Sort of wish this level was a bit more like the movie, a few other fighters along with you to deal with TIEs and then halfway through the interior, that's when one is shot down and Lando orders the group to split up, thinning out the number of TIEs chasing you.
The YT 1300 was never meant to be a military ship. It's a freighter. What were they thinking taking that ship into the maze of pipes and girders of the Death Star II? That was nuts!
Gamecube star wars games nailed the space battles better than any other star wars games. Wedge was already out of the death star before lando started making his escape lol.
It's just too bad that they restricted it to console, they should've ported all three games to the PC instead of just the first one, we could've had mods and hacks to make it even better but alas.
@Patrick Höing I know but I moved on to PC gaming and wish more console games I enjoyed were on PC, my old consoles are failing to meet the standards of new monitors/tvs and the games still have issues on Dolphin currently. I am allowed to dream, I just want to extend the life of the games and have fun modding them.
Something that always bugged me. You're in space. Inside the center of a giant metal ball. There are no poles. ........How the hell do you know which way is North?
Nice! I still can't beat this level in the Falcon. Doing it in an X-wing is hard enough (did still manage it on ace mode though) but the Falcon is just so big it catches on stuff too much.
I really hate the Millennium Falcon in Rogue Leader; maneuverability is terrible, the secondary weapon sucks, and it makes every mission that much harder. They fixed all these problems in Rebel Strike; unfortunately, the Rebel Strike campaign is terrible, and there's only a few missions where you get to fly the new Falcon. Slave I is even worse; it's unbelievably slow and makes for a big target, and they didn't even fix it in Rebel Strike! All they did was give it a new secondary weapon that actually made it worse. I'd really love to see a new version of Rogue Leader on Xbox One and PS4; an HD remake with all the bonus craft fixed. Use the Rebel Strike version of the Falcon, make Slave I faster and more maneuverable (and give it ION cannons; it's supposed to have them) and replace the TIE Fighter bonus craft with the TIE Bomber from Rebel Strike; it was a lot more fun. Also make it so that ALL secondary weapons regenerate; not just lock-on missiles, proton bombs, and sonic mines.
***** The company that made the games went bust and LucasArts have the licence to Rogue Squadron. Incidentally, it was LucasArts that killed Rogue 4 when it was half complete so I doubt we'll be seeing another game or even remake some time soon. :(
+BucksheeRounds Lucasarts didn't kill Rogue 4, copyright issues regarding Factor 5 trying to make it despite selling the rights to the IP beforehand is what caused it to die.
I died smashing into the pipes like 5 times before I finally found out I can actually shoot them and completed the Death Star run in XWA :P BTW, both X-Wing and Rogue Squadron series rule
At least it made up with Super Return of the Jedi. The very last part of that game kinda makes it hard to watch and play like it'll hurt your eyes. This one does not.
I can not beat this mission for the life of me! Getting to the enterence is a chore. But it is possible. I have gotten so close! I made it to the last straightaway as the core was exploding. But then Lando slowed down for no friggin reason, and I slammed into the back of him. And the Flames overtook us.
it's pretty obvious that taking turns on old video game is not smooth but I have to say its still better than most Android space games today due to the wide game space
Same here, especially when you're trying to escape from the explosions behind you in the Death Star. It was a major pain in the ass that took me a few tries to finally master.
You need to keep eye on the green dot in the radar, and protect the Millennium Falcon from enemies, don't let the Millennium Falcon go far or behind during the first part of the mission.
this level sucks ass big time. one time, ONE TIME, through sheer dumb luck, was i able to beat it. they said they made this game in 9 months- it really shows in this level.
3:49 The moment Lando realizes that having the cockpit on a ship that large to the far right side can really throw off your perspective.
4DhumanInstrumentality so true
That’s why my favorite YT transport is the 1930 as the cockpit is in the center of the ship’s bow (the front).
Ian Frew Othana?

One of the best games on the cube.

They actually do that in X-Wing Alliance (which has a pretty cool, involved strike at the second death star final level/sequence)
@@musicMan11537I'm gonna go check that out now, thanks for mentioning that!!
I was never all that good playing as Lando in this level. I always preferred playing as Wedge in the last two levels since it was easier.
Ohh did this level seriously vex me for ages. It was a miracle I ever completed it.
The YT 1300 was never meant to be a military ship. It's a freighter. What were they thinking taking that ship into the maze of pipes and girders of the Death Star II? That was nuts!
Love the sound of the falcon's turrets
I always thought this scene was a huge nailbiter in the movie, I can't even imagine how stressful it is to play it.
Massive stressful mate took me sooo long to beat this damn level lol.

The game should've given out a bonus point if the player is capable of losing the radar dish. :P
That was TOO CLOSE.

Who did they sell the rights to beforehand? I thought Factor 5 were making it then went bust and sold the rights to LucasArts.
I can't quite remember but I will have to look up the article if it's still around.
Better dead here than dead in da Core. Ye gods, whatta meesa sayin'? !

God this game was amazing. I need to buy a GameCube again
Ah. Now it's easy to see how the Emperor survived that blast.
@Patrick Höing I don't think Palpatine actually came back in Legends. That was just his clone.
@@danielterrell2191 I don't think he was referring to _Dark Empire,_ but rather its bootleg, _-Somehow Palpatine Returns-__ The Rise of Skywalker._
It all makes sense to me now. The second death star was only just a distraction for to keep starkiller base secret. Death Star 2 was only expendable.
Love the rest of this game, but goddamn X-Wing Alliance did the tunnel run so much better.

That would have been a frustrating level in the falcon
They should remake these games

They used the clip from the movie!
Gotta be the most leisurely exit i've ever seen 😆

@1:46 I wish they'd just use the voice clips from the movies...
Wow why couldn't more games based on movies be this good, they usually turn out to be cash grab crap.
This level is more interesting using the X-Wing.
The Falcon looks like a York Peppermint Patty 😁
I always named it the flying biscuit
Still looks better than Battlefront
did not feel like 80 kilometers to the Death Star core. is this really a death star model for the game.
......I do not remember the dish rotating upwards....
I never beat that level with the millinium falcon I was only able to beat it with the x wing
there should be a cutscene were if you play the millennium falcon if wedge dies you fail the mission
Kratos 9726 there is
is this emulated? why does it look so good
Recorded it using a Nintendo Wii and a Hauppauge capture device.
GameCube
RW:ive always hated this mission, and can some other user give this vid another 👍 please, cause I just hate the number 666.
how the F**** do you keep lando alive when playing as the x wing?
You need to keep eye on the green dot in the radar, and protect the Millennium Falcon from enemies, don't let the Millennium Falcon go far or behind during the first part of the mission.
It says no medal awarded at the bottom, and the parameters are 41 kills and 30%+ shot accuracy. You didn't earn gold on that run. Only bronze.
I already earned gold from a previous video. This was just to show how to clear this mission with the falcon.
unknownbynome I see. Sorry, my bad then. It took me 9 hours yesterday but I managed to get gold in the falcon. It's ridiculously tough.
That was my pet hate the Falcon in that level
I wish the ships flew like they did in the opening cutscene, instead of 1/10 the speed and steering like a golf cart.
This level was so hard...
I feel like this game is harder than rebel strike
This is for Gamecube?
Indeed.
Yes
This is the Sh*t
A little anticlimactic...Destroy the entire Death Star...NO MEDAL AWARDED.
He must know how Chewie felt.
He already cleared this mission in the previous video with the X-Wing. This is an alternate run with the Millenium Falcon.
Are you a wizard?
I've always hated this mission.
