Sifnos is a boutique island. Highly sophisticated, great esthetics and superb gastronomy. It is no coincidence that it is considered the favorite island of the Greek elite.
So glad you got to go to one of favorite places on earth! Spread the word!
Not sure I want people to discover it. Haha. It was so great.
I have never been what should I see here if I visit
I love these islands during winter.
Just thinking of a moody cloudy weather and the rough seas falling on the rocks, can make my day.
Of course you can easily be stranded for days or even weeks when there are no ferries because of the weather, but I see it as a bonus.
I haven’t really been to many islands in winter. If they had better heating, I would consider it.
Amorgos is another island you may enjoy. I took a day trip there and I definitely want to go again for longer
It is definitely on my list. I have heard good things.
Amorgos is nice but I found Syros my favorite of all islands. We ended up there when the cruise was unable to get the tenders out to Mykonos due to the high winds. Was the best thing ever as after I did some searching about Mykonos I saw that Mykonos was a bit of not much.
We’re sailing to Sifnos at this moment and are looking forward to some of the stunning sites you’ve shown us. Thanks for the tour.
Ohh sailing to Sifnos would be a dream. Who are you sailing with? Have a great time in Sifnos!!
I will definitely check Sifnos out! I just came back from Spetses and Nafplio for 10 days. Amazing!
It was so great! That sounds like a great trip.
So beautiful. Now I'm inlove with this Island 🏝
Me too!! I hope to go back in the Spring and do some of the hiking trails.
What great video. 1st time I see a video of yours... I feel Greece might just be one of the most gorgeous places on earth - those colors (!!) of the sea, the sky, the landscape.. are just incredible
Thank you! I hope you enjoyed it. I think it is. 😁
Greece is the paradise on earth , I can assure you !
Haven't heard of this island before this video, but definitely want to visit it now. Love how natural it looks, and that little church sitting off by itself is so cute.
It is worth a visit. So beautiful and so much quieter than many these days.
🥰 Chrisopigi Monastery
So beautiful!!
The chickpea balls are called falafel and you dip them in tzatziki or humus or a chilli sauce. Great video it’s beautiful 😍
It did not taste like falafel. Thank you!
❤ you never get tired of a good sunset😊
Hello from thessaloniki, Greece 🇬🇷
Hello!
The moussaka looked yummy. It was definitely one of my favorite dishes in Athens. Sifnos is stunning!! Thanks for sharing your island hopping adventures. See you next summer in Greece!!
It was great. You’re welcome!!
Wow. This is a beautiful island. Not sure what people see in other more touristy areas.
It is now one of my favorites. Can’t wait to go back.
Hi again! Great video about Sifnos, brought back lots of memories :) The bamboo-like plant is called Kalamia which in english it is translated to "reed" by an online dictionary. It is quite expected to notice the many churches around. Allegedly there are 365 churches in the island. One for evey day of the year :)
Thanks! I looked it up later. I think I am just used to seeing them dry. I thought it was Ios with the 365 churches? I think Sifnos had more!
Ok, that’s it. Sifnos is a must visit someday. I remember a few years ago talking to Brits who went and loved it.
It definitely should be. I am already hoping to go back!
Just left from Kamares Sifnos. It is a very nice, slow moving island. Plenty of restaurants! I stayed in the Stravos Hotel right on the bay.
Must of just missed you! I stayed at their sister hotel, Hotel Kamari. Loved Sifnos.
You should make a video just for the trails of the island! Trails was the ancient roads dating back 9 thousands of years
I am hoping to next Spring. I was taken down by hurting my toe. Plus it will be cooler in the Spring.
My week in Zante was wonderful but a week is not enough time to enjoy the Greek weather 🙃
A week is definitely not long enough! Hope you can go longer next time.
@@agirlandherpassport Me too..
I am so happy to come across this video. I lived and work in Sifnos for 3 years. A Greek living in Australia☺️
Oh lucky you to live there for so long!
@@agirlandherpassport yes it was a great experience. Especially in Winter. I loved the winter much better because locals were gathered at central local shops and it was a more personalised experience. The islands are great in winter. Nice to meet you. My name is Dimitra! I have Watched your Athens vlogs and really liked them, as I grew up in Athens☺
@@jasminesky4063 That's great! You are the first person to say that to me about the islands in winter so maybe Sifnos has something special. Thanks for watching.
Only one word for this video...WOW !!
Thank you!!
Hi,
My wife and I have enjoyed watching your vlogs for quite a long time. Thank you!
It just occurred to us that you are now at the same time on the same island showing the same beach as the other vlogger, "Gabriel Traveler," who we also have enjoyed watching for quite a while. It looks like you likely had his car in your video @2:55.
So I thought you might like to meet him as he is also a lovely person and a popular travel vlogger. 🙂
Cheers,
Lynn & Jesenko
P.S. We watch you through our oldest RUclips account that RUclips didn't allow us to leave a comment. Probably because we don't have a channel there.
All the best.
Thank you so much! I am not in Sifnos anymore and I imagine he isn’t either but thanks!
Another wonderful video of beautiful Greece. You looked relaxed and happy. I notice you don't travel with much jewelry and keep it simple. That's my travel style as well.
Thank you! It was very relaxing. I don’t wear much jewelry anyway so not much of a change. I work from home and some days don’t put on makeup either.
It looks so beautiful, thank you for the video, I will put it on my list of islands to visit.
It was stunning. I loved it.
Lunch at Margarita is the best option. The square is charming. I am glad you finally found it.
Loved this video! You showcased this island for us and now I am adding to my list. Also, I just happened to watch another one of my fav travelers, Gabriel Traveler, and it looks like he was there about the same time as you!
Thank you! I saw his video after mine came out. We were definitely there at the same time
We’re going to Athens and Sifnos for our honeymoon later this week! Your videos have been super helpful.
I’m glad it was helpful. Have a great trip.
You had great weather! Do you think the September weather is better in the Cyclades than even say the Northern Sporades? I’ve had rough weather in the latter when I come in September.
I enjoyed this so much. I was actually waiting for your post this week-Gabriel Traveler had just posted from Sifnos this week too so it was such a treat. I enjoy your channel immensely. I’ve been coming to Greece every summer for years and I’m always learning something new and interesting from you. :)
PS-That week went by too fast!
It was very humid but great otherwise. Yes, September is the best month the visit the Cyclades. It’s not as hot but the sea is at its warmest.
Two Sifnos videos in one week! Thank you so much!!
I believe 3:27 they are bamboo sticks that are used to make chairs you might see them at coffee bars. They weave baskets and for plants support ..check them out at local markets .. very interesting video again Tiffany have fun
They are just reeds apparently. Thanks!!
Planning on going there early October…hoping for good warm weather.
I think you will be okay! But I will keep my fingers.
You might get beautiful weather in the mid to high 20s...or... cool weather with some rain even.. Most likely the first
Great Video, thanks. I just found your yt channel and I guess I have a lot to watch this weekend 🙂 I really love the greek islands and visited most of them (within 2-3 hours from athens) - hope to see some more in the future. Have you been to Poros and/or some of the ionian island, I am sure you did, amazing!
Thank you! I have been to Poros but there isn’t a video as it was before I had a channel but there are some recent ones from the Ionian.
Food looks delicious!I like both eggplants cooked with tomato and feta cheese as well as deep fryed eggplant slices in tempura (batter)
It was! Both the eggplant dishes were good.
thank you!
You're welcome!
So glad you went to sifnos. Its amazing. Hope the toe is ok x
It’s slowly getting better!! Thanks!
The price quoted on the menu for the moussaka is very reasonable I think. Especially since the ingredients are farm to table. Here in Canada where I live, a slab of moussaka at a Greek restaurant goes for $24 =18 Euro.
Yeah it was more since it was their own ingredients. Wow! That is very expensive.
Watching from my bed in Samos.
Nice vlog!
Thank you!!
nice, quiet and no graffiti. Great video
Thanks!
Great video! I had never before seen anything on Sifnos. It was one of those low profile, pass through islands I had never seen promoted. Maybe that’s what keeps it (and others) genuine I guesss. My partner and I are planning to spend our vacation in Paxos in the summer of 2023. Have you been there?
Thanks! It was a great place. I have only been there briefly for a sailing trip. It’s stunning!!
Thank you Tiffany, lovely island? Did you get to Xeronisos and visit the elderly potter there? He’s a real character. I’ve two of his pots and saw similar in an exhibition of Sifnos pottery in Athens this summer at Mon Coin gallery in Monastiraki
You're welcome! No, the drive was a bit too much for me.
Haven't watched the video yet, but just wanted to say you look so pretty on the thumbnail 😍. I will comment on the video after watching 😉
Thank you so much! I was very sweaty so I was surprised it turned out so well.
She always looks gorgeous, the scenery competes to get a look in
@@cyclops92 You are very sweet! Thank you
@@cyclops92 I agree. She is even prettier in person. I was lucky to have met her in Tinos 😊
Thank you!
Τhe plants at 03.00 that look like bamboo are called (Phragmites australis) and are the European equivalent of Asian bamboo.
I looked it up later. It’s just a plain reed. So cool though.
Nice. This island is not on our Radar. We just got done with a Greece series on the historical city states, and I will be taking Victoria to Athens, Meteora and Zakynthos in the Spring. Enjoying your content and subed to see more.
Thanks! There are so many islands to explore it is hard to see them all.
@@agirlandherpassport One can dream right? Hope you enjoy our guides and they inspire you like yours did for me.
Exactly! I hope to see as many as possible.
Greta looking views and so serene. I wonder how far of a boat ride is it from Athens to here.
Thanks! The slow ferry from Athens to Sifnos is about 5 hours and the fast ferry is about 2 and a half. Although both my ferries were late both slow and fast.
@@agirlandherpassport Good, cuz I'm coming to Athens next month and this excursion you showed is ideal. Thank you.
@@moa3810 You're welcome! Have a great trip!
Just returned from Greece, had and accident in Santorini got hurt and spend the rest of my trip IN PAIN. Thought a lot about you and your advices.
I’m so sorry to hear that! I hope it’s better now.
Im on bedrest for a while. The wound in my leg is kind of ugly. Thanks for the good wishes and for ALL YOUR VIDEOS.
@@wandagonzalez4222 Take care of yourself!
That was most enjoyablebravo
Thank you!
The holes in the towers are not small windows but openings for warriors to place their muskets or whatever guns they had to shoot their enemies that where besieging the towers.
I don’t think they had guns at this time. These are ancient towers.
Most likely for arrows.
The rabbit dish (19.45) is a pretty interesting Cycladic dish.I have tried it in Santorini cooked with onions and red wine.On the other side fried chickpeas balls are much better if accompanied by a yogurt sauce otherwise they tend to be quite dry...
It was pork but it was so good. Yeah they needed something for sure.
@@agirlandherpassport Tiff,if you look at the menu, there is a plate "rabbit with wine and thyme" That is the dish i am talking about...
@@mesaekso1443 Oh, sorry I thought you meant another part. Thanks!
@@agirlandherpassport No worries,Tiff!
Very nice video 😊👍
Thank you!
Nice sunset shot🌅Those red flowers looks really beautiful Great place to be! Is it safe to take a bus at night?
Thank you! Very safe.
Greece in general is very safe, period.
Beautiful video! I didn't catch it but which beach are you at during the 13:25 mark? It looks gorgeous! ❤
Question: my husband retired august 31st. We spent 4 months in Hawaii, then 3 months in Belize. We will head back to Dallas, Texas to see kids and grands then to Athens. We have no ideas except from following you. We are 67 and 62 years old, but in good health. We are back packing. Is Plakos a safe place to stay or do you have a suggestion?
Plaka in Athens is safe! Most of the country is.
We just want to thank you for all the great information you share and for allowing us to journey with you. We are looking forward to our arrival there mid April and wanted to be where we can walk to stores and restaurants, etc, since we won’t have a vehicle at all times. And we were trying to decide about whether to Airbnb for one month in Athens and then go Airbnb on one of the islands or whether to just Airbnb on Athens as a home base for 2-3 months and just travel over to the islands for a day or two. Thank you again so much for all you do to help so many of us understand more about Greece and travel in general. Blessings to you. Joni Rhodes
You're welcome! You don't need a car in Athens. I don't have one and it is very walkable. I would go to an island for a month not do day trips as you will spend lots of time of ferries. I hope this helps! Have a great trip.
Absolutely beautiful and we love your Greece vlogs
Thank you so much!
I’m not going to Mykonos til November… wishing it was now…
November ?
I can imagine!
Well November is pushing it a bit much (even for Mykonos) Now September - October, I'd say great... but November won't really give you the Mykonos experience (unless you like quiet...)
Dreamy 💙🥰
I want to go back!
Tiff, did you,by any chance, meet up with Gabriel Traveler?
I did not. Had no idea he was there.
@@agirlandherpassport Ok...
FYI-Gabriel Traveller just posted about Sifnos.
Yes, I saw that.
Where online do you purchase your ferry (also) bus tickets?
For ferry tickets, I use FerryHopper, www.ferryhopper.com/en/?aff_uid=grlps. Bus tickets are tricky as not all bus routes offer online tickets. Depends on where you are going.
@@agirlandherpassport Thank you for all! I’d suppose for the bus one can simply go to the station in advance and purchase a ticket.
Just went on ΚΤΕΛ site, tickets can be purchased with cash on the bus.
@@mikefilimon1584 Were you wanting island bus tickets? Those are always bought on the bus. The intercity KTEL buses are different.
@@agirlandherpassport That would make sense in both instances.
🙏😊
😀😀
There is no place like ios and antiparos...🤘🤘🤘🤘🤟
You should hook up with Gabriel Travel. He’s on the island too. Check his latest video. Hook up
I am not there anymore and seeing the way he travels around, he probably isn’t either.
So many of the towns on the islands look the same. White buildings, narrow alleyways , stairs. I’ve seen 100’s of island videos so can you tell me any islands that are unique…I presume Hydra is one island that’s unique.
Yes it’s an architectural style and was mandate by the government for a while. You will find that each island chain has its own architectural style so none of them are completely unique, even Hydra.
I found Corfu to be a little different from the traditional Greek islands.
@@FC-zx4ed It has a more Venetian feel but the islands around it look the same as it.
Cyclades Islands look pretty much the same but every one have its character. However if you want more variety you should check a different set of islands, like the Ionian (Lefkada, Ithaki, Kerkyra etc) or Sporades (Alonissos, Skopelos etc)
@@Mindwiper thanks for the tip…I’ll do that
Looks absolutely beautiful. As a single attractive woman, do you find that the greek men are like the Italians....very flirtatious?
It is! Not really. Greek men are not so forward.
Your modesty knows no limits.
@@scambodia147I was complimenting the gal in the video. Not myself. I think she is attractive & I’ve heard that Italian men can be aomewhat, obvious about their attraction to women & I wondered if this was her experience
The plant you asked about is a type of Donax. You are correct---not bamboo

Cool! Thanks
