It was unreal when JT had to restrict hikers during the summer starting a few years ago cuz they didnt understand how harsh the environment is. I thought it was mainly German and Asian tourists but found out it was a lot of CA urban dwellers thinking they knew better. They wouldnt be able to carry the amount of water it takes to stay actually hydrated on a 4 hour hike in +100 temp's. I used my KLX to get out to all the mining history and abandonded stuff out there and it still blows my mind how the settlers and pioneers overcame the environment in the Mojave.
Great advice. One thing I added to my kit is this: UV-Blocker Compact Sun Protection UV Umbrella Auto Open Auto Close Double Vented Canopy Windproof Sun Umbrella UV Protection 55+ UPF. Great quality, compact, and found on Amazon.
Some definite food for thought! Thank you for this. I just relocated from the Alaska to NY to West Texas. Went and rode for a few hours in the desert and this altitude and heat is no joke. I’m considering adding long distance runner supplies to my kit; gels and things like that. It’s not just about staying hydrated, adventure riding is a full body workout. Gotta replenish those carbs and calories as well. Great video, you’ve got a new follower!

Thank you. I really appreciate that.
You've got some great tips here. I was just going to a desert ride and decided against it. 120 degrees is just too much for me.
Umph!!! 120 is a tad high for me too!! haha... Under 100 is fine out there but after that i stay in the pool thank you!!
