The turaco is not tame, he is being territorial and you are stressing him out with that behavior. He is pecking you and showing the red under his wings to make you back away, even hand raised turacos do not like this. Please don't do the same if you are reading this...
As someone who raised a white cheeked turaco, I can confirm this is true. My bird is normally very tame and timid. But when people get close to his aviary he starts behaving exactly like this, and he gets way more aggressive because of it.
