Every watch a soaring bird in flight? This video reminds me of that: the thrust upwards of surfaces to spoil lift, the movement downward of other surfaces to alter direction, the fine control of wings. Beautiful stuff!
Beautiful views of Mt. Shasta, Bolinas, Pt. Reyes Station, San Anselmo, Tiburon, Coit Tower, Golden Gate Park, Daly City, South San Francisco, San Bruno, Milbrae, San Mateo, Hillsbourough, Chrystal Springs Resivoir, HIghway 280, San Carlos, Woodside, Palo Alto, Downrown Palo Alto, Stanford University Quad, Moffet Field Dumbarton Bridge, East Palo Alto, Menlo Park, Redwood City, San Carlos, San Mateo, San Mateo Bridge, Peninsula Park Embassy Suites, Bayshore Park Hyatt SFO and final into SFO.
Tiburon, Coit Tower, Golden Gate Park, Daly City San Bruno, Millbrae, San Mateo, Hillsborough, Crystal Springs Reservoir, Highway 280, San Carlos, Woodside, Palo Alto, Downtown Palo Alto, Stanford University, Moffet Field, Menlo Park, Redwood City, the hotels along Bayshore Blvd., etc. were not visible in this video. The only part of South San Francisco visible, besides the airport itself, is Mt. San Bruno beginning at 11:45.
From your side of the plane you could see Milpitas, Fremont, San Leandro, Alameda, Oakland. Also you could see Mt.Diablo too and Fremont Peak. The final waypoint before turning towards SFO runway is called Silicon(Sllicon Valley), then DUMBA(hence crossing the Dumbarton Bridge). They usually line up the aircrafts over DUMBA and line you up two at a time one on the left and one on the right and clear you to 15,000 feet then about 10 miles later 10,000 feet and minimums just over the San Mateo Highway 92 bridge.
Nice video. Reminds me of my own flight into SFO a few years back, and wondering if the runway was ever going to appear or were we going to land on the water.
The funniest thing I've encountered was a Condor 767 from Las Vegas to Frankfurt. The map on the IFE had not been updated with the new 7L/25R runway, so everyone who wasn't into aviation thought that we were going to land in the forest that was previously there - because that was what was shown on the flight map.

Truly stunning! And I live here!
We went from horse and buggy to modern jet aircraft in two generations.....a long way from the Wright Brothers Flying Machine!
had the pleasure of the 'dodgers' A380 flying me from Perth(aus) to dubai back in October. brilliant aircraft :) great vid
