    Thank you. Very informative. I have a similar situation but lack certain tools to diagnose my issue. While driving my 2013 Honda Civic, my car suddenly started losing power with low engine oil flash. I pulled over to the side. I have had similar indicator come on before too but when I would check the oil, it would always be upto the level, so I assumed it was a bad engine oil sensor. Anyways, now my car is a no crank, no start situation. I had the car towed home. Any suggestions? I would do a diagnostic check by am assuming a bad starter wouldn't stop a driving car. I could be wrong. Kindly guide me. I'd rather do a check before towing it to the mechanic.

    • @jsquaredrepaired5017
      @jsquaredrepaired5017  5 лет назад

      Unfortunately that sounds very different as you suggest. I'm guessing you had low oil pressure which may mean the oil pump failed. If the sensor was not the problem then it likely is the pump and you may have serious engine trouble ☹️

    thank you for the video. I am having the same issue I believe. It happened twice before. I thought battery was dyeing and jumped it and it worked both of the times. Today it finally gave up. Before all this, when I turn the car on, it felt like it was hard to turn the engine on. So I do think its a starter. What do you think, or anyone?

    • @jsquaredrepaired5017
      @jsquaredrepaired5017  5 лет назад +1

      Unfortunately it's likely the starter. It seems pretty common and they do typically fail intermittently before completely failing.

    My girlfriends 06 civic is having this problem every other day and it won’t end up starting and we tow it to a shop and they say it starts up everytime and then they give it back to us and it runs fine and then the next day doesn’t start again, we’ve gone through this process 2/3 times, they say the starter is going bad but still works because it cranks fine, we had the Ignition switch replaced and the battery is newish and didn’t have problems before so idk what the problem is should I get the starter replaced? Or could it be something else

    • @jeffschneyer6246
      @jeffschneyer6246 3 года назад

      Unfortunately the starter is probably going bad. It's common for them to be intermittent before they fail fully.

    My civic does this once every two to three weeks but after letting it sit for a few hours it turns back on. The ac and lights turn on fine when the key is in so im confident it isnt the battery. Any idea what i should look at first?

    • @jsquaredrepaired5017
      @jsquaredrepaired5017  5 лет назад

      Unfortunately you have to go through the whole process to find the root of the problem and intermittent problems are tough. Most common is going to be the starter unfortunately. If it's the starter you may be able to rock the car while trying to start or tap on it with a hammer to get it to work a single time but once they start acting up it will fully fail soon ☹️

    I have the same car. Was at the gas station yesterday. Turned the key and the car barely turned on, so I turned it off and tried it again just to see what would happen and nothing. The battery is good. The day before it didn’t want to turn on, but I had the key turned for like 5 seconds and it started up like normal with no cranking noises. Could it be the ignition switch or the starter?

    • @jsquaredrepaired5017

    • @jsquaredrepaired5017
      @jsquaredrepaired5017  4 года назад

      If they did a good job testing the starter than I would say it's ok. But when a starter goes it usually only has a few bad spots so that it will work much of the time but if it stops on a bad spot it won't function. If your starter is older and you checked everything else I would change it since you've went through the effort of removing.

    • @jaysonreid4160

      Even if it doesnt click when turning the key is there a way to test the other components with out a volt meter

    • @jsquaredrepaired5017
      @jsquaredrepaired5017  4 года назад

      @@jaysonreid4160 you really need a meter or test light. But if it's an intermittent problem then that will be hard to diagnose until it completely fails. Starters are unfortunately a common failure. If you want to start with less expensive things you can replace the ignition switch but replacing without testing is a gamble.

    • @jsquaredrepaired5017
