Awesome informative video, thanks :) I'm pretty new to SEO and WordPress... regarding the Broken Link Checker, you mentioned that it is Server Resource intensive... would it then be oke to do the scan every 2 weeks or so? at least so this wouldn't have a negative impact on m website? Thanks again for the great video:)
That would depend on the content it was linking to previously and if you have the same or similar content in a different area of your site. If you don't have replacement content you could point the links to your home or blog pages as another option.
Thanks a lot, your videos are always very helpful! :) I have a question, I created a WP website few months ago, I followed the advice in the video and checked for broken links using Google Search Console. I found quite a few with 404 (e.g./hello-world/ or /author/admin/). I didn't create any of these pages I am guessing they are defaults or somthing. If I checked if they appear on Google using "site::mysite" and they don't appear, but still I understand from the video that they may damage SEO. So my question is: shall I redirect them or what would you advise? Many thanks again!! PS. Probably obvious from my question but I am a beginner :)
But if the broken link is no longer needed. Like a deleted product or so? Whats the best practise? You just delete the link and it will disapear from the search?

the broken link check plugin in wp did not detect the broken link, however semrush site audit is showing, and I have verified it. This is the third video and so far and no solution in sight.
It would depend on the specific broken link, if you reach out to the plugin's support they can normally assist and look to fix the issue for the future.

You can do that if you would like, the main thing to consider is not to try to do something else that is also server intensive while doing this check.
Makes sense but how do I find or know which new link I want to send them to?

Thanks for the precious info. Now I guess i am struggling on the process of finding and fixing some urls from mysql. Any video I should check? Thanks.
We do not have a video for checking links using mysql at this time sadly.

If google is reporting that they are 404s then it would be a good idea to redirect them, just to be safe normally :)
But if the broken link is no longer needed. Like a deleted product or so? Whats the best practise? You just delete the link and it will disapear from the search?
You could do that if the link will never be needed or you could create 301 redirects to a page on your site.
There is a delicate balance between offering to teach me and trying to sell me.

How do you exactly fix it when you see in Semrush hahaha
You would need to go back to your site and either fix the error, redirect that page, or find another solution for the link that has an issue!
